Unsupported ID of Module WLAN wireless module (702)

Just bought new Intel® Dual Band Wireless - AC 7260 half Mini PCIe card

After the installation, I get a message on boot to top

No wireless module supported

The system has detected that a modue wireless installed in the system is not supported.  System stopped.  If please remove device and restart.

I'm under notebook PC, HP Pavilion dv7-4183 cl with the latest version of the BIOS.

Any suggestions on getting this Intel Wireless Card work?

I want the 802.11ac with Bluetooth 4.0

I don't understand why this card should not work.  Why HP would prevent me from using that card.  HP will change the BIOS for this card can be used?

Called HP support today.

It seemed to me more on this topic, and then he did.

Conclusion.

Do not buy HP.  Why?  Well, I understand that for the FCC regulations, they might want to limit what cards to put.  But my problem is that they do not go back and update the bios with new ones that meet regulations of the FCC.

Do not buy Intel.   If you read the information that they provide User installation is "illegal."

So why that I found this product on Newegg and Tigerdirect.

If you look at the forums that I'm not the only one with a LOT of question is have it.

So to summarize.

My HP laptop cannot be upgraded to an internal AC wireless with Bluetooth.

Idon't understand one thing. The test function as "access point" during a test of DUT?

For example, CMW500 (R & S), MT8860C (Anritsu) work as 'access' point in a trial of DUT.

Alternatively, NI test may some other test modes HAD?

    Concerning

    Ruslan.

    Ruslan63,

    Short answer:

The NI WLAN toolkit does not act as an access point.  It offers measurement analysis and generation of waveform in accordance with IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/j/p/ac/ah/af. You should be able to put your device in test mode and have transmitting packets or packets of report he received successfully.

Longer answer (drawing of some notes I made):

Two main methods of testing are signaling or signaling reduced and non-signalisation.  NEITHER supports non-signalisation. There are pros & cons of each.  Here is a quick table showing some differences.

      Signalling Non-Signalisation
Test speed slow (mins) fast (dry)
    Cost test instrument high low
    Development time low high
    Sw/test protocol stack Yes NO.
Required unit test mode NO. Yes

If you test the stack of protocol/software of your device, or if you have no way to control your device in test mode, you should use signs and cannot benefit from the advantages of signalling No.

Today, the trend is to use no signage for regression tests during the validation and design of the product and production test. Developers buy the modules and chipsets including sellers have already validated the software stack and Protocol.  As long the developer not to waste the chip/module, risk of product failure is very low. Thus, as designers to put the chip/modules in a circuit, they use no signs of regression tests to quickly validate the functionality of RF (that is, the physical layer RF) of the chip/module has not been compromised. A subset of this very fast, parametric test can often be used for production testing. Yet once, as long as the production process is not spoil the chip/module, so the risk of failure is low.

WLAN Wireless products, were among the first to use the test of no signage.  Almost all WLAN vendors have a driver to control the device in test mode. The general categories of control are similar (e.g. Tx N packets of data type given the power), but orders are not normalized between suppliers. The interface for the control of test device mode varies also (UART, USB, SDIO).

Bluetooth has a standard interface based on the COM port and the command set is the same between vendors (NICE!). For this reason, NEITHER has been able to create libraries of control device as part of its suite of tests of Bluetooth.

Control of the cellular device varies such as WLAN, and shifted in no signal test, they are now driving difficult due to high volumes and $$$. In addition, a test of cell signalling can take 2 to 3 minutes vs 10-20 sec.  And if the call "injects" you don't have many options other than to rerun the test.  And the cost of test equipment can be > x 5.

Navigation receivers can acquire a signal satellites simulated (for example using NI GPS Toolkit) and quickly provide support noise measurement on N satellite signals detected.  While this isn't really non-signalisation, it represents the time savings based on the same approach necessary to lock onto satellite signals 'good' protocol/software stack has already been validated and the risk is low.  Waiting for a satellite lock may take minutes, which for many is unacceptable, especially in production tests.

As the cost of the chips drop, functionality increases, the cost of the test becomes a greater % of product. Businesses now demand not signalling test improved support to control costs.  In my opinion, any provider module/chip that don't offer not supported no signaling tests will lose market share.  This should be the first question a request before company decided on a module/chip provider because the test costs can sometimes outweigh the cost of the chip!

I worked with a variety of businesses

    (A) who have more expensive 0 - 2 signalling testers for design/validation, while having much more (x 10) testers no signage for the production test and regression tests.

    (B) who produce high mix low volume products where they have that 1-2 testers signage for all tests.  In their case the advantage of not having to spend time developing the device control code is the largest economies, and their time to test/debit is not important.

    (C) who have no way to control test (for example the sealed device) device of fashion and have only the option of test signals.

NEITHER focuses on the company to a types.

    I hope this clarify things.

Does anyone have any experience with bad reception WLAN? Only directly next to the WLAN router at a distance of 1 m WLAN works. Other wireless networks do not appear in the WLAN list, with other computers laptops and androids several wireless LANs are recognized. Maybe it's a software problem, but I fear that there is a physical problem with the WLAN antenna. Can anyone help with this?

I operate my S205 (Atheros 9285) with Win7 64 bit Home Premium, it was initially installed.

Thanks to boooogy in the meantime I also replaced the atheros by intel 6200, now it works perfectly, bios section was not really a problem)))

  • DW1501 support of the Windows 8 Half-Mini Card WLAN Wireless-N

    Hello!

I recently upgraded my Dell Inspiron N5010 Windows 7 to Windows 8. Everything works fine except there is a problem with my network card. Since the upgrade, I noticed that my internet has slowed down a lot and I'm unable to play the online games like EVE Online because I seem to disconnect from the internet for a fraction of second causing sign out me of my game.
I'm not the only user N5010 to notice this and so far it seems no fix or solution to this real. Apparently it is something to do with a driver that is installed by Windows 8 which should make network cards work but there is a bug for my type of network card (and others I think) but I'm not entirely sure what is the cause.
For this reason, I had to reinstall my Windows 7 that I find it disappointing that I love especially Windows 8. I hope there is a solution or a fix for this I don't want to have a copy of Windows 8 Pro that I can't use.
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Thank you!

Here is the service manual that you need:

    Your manual

The good news is that there is no BIOS block whitelist so that you can install any module wireless with the right form factor and the number of antennas. The bad new is that the removal and reinstallation of the wireless card is a serious surgical procedure.

See pages 43-51. Pay attention to this:

Ago 58 screws that must be removed, replaced or loosened when the service provider service allowed only parts. Take special note of each screw size and location during the removal and replacement.

The wireless card is not allowed for the replacement of the end user, so you are questioning the guarantee by. Also, your laptop can have 1 antenna wireless that will make almost impossible upgrade if it is true.

It would be the best card wifi HP offered and is really the best on the market in general:

  • Satellite A660 - WLan Broadcom 802.11n very slow on Win 8

    Hello.

    I have a Satellite A660 PSAW3a 07r00r and my speedtest is usually 12 or 13 MB/s
After you have installed Windows 8 64 bit, my speed went back to 2 or 3 MB/s.
All my other computers are still at 12 or 13 MB/s.

I tried the drivers 64-bit windows 7 as well but no luck.
It seems to be a common theme when I googled.
My broadcom driver version is 5.60.48.35.

Someone at - it solution or something for me to try?

    Thank you, Will.

    Hello

As I m not wrong the 802.11 standards (B/G/N) WLan wireless card BROADCOM BCM94313 supports.

What Wlan standard are you using exactly?
The Wlan standard can be changed in the Device Manager-> card WLan-> properties-> Advanced tab

Given that the wireless network adapter supports 802.11 B / G and N, the 2.4 Ghz frequency is supported.
This means that max 54 Mbps transfer rate is supported
    But it's just a theoretical value. You will never get to 54 megabits/s usual speed would be ~20Mbit/s = ~ 2.5Mbyte / s

As you already get 2 or 3 MB/s, everythign seems to be OK

  • Wireless on a laptop Pavilion G7 issues

    Greetings

I seems lost all ability to connect to or even find a wireless signal.

Normally once I connect to the wireless light the F12 key will blank (off) orange (out) but for some reason his remaining orange. Currently, I get a message saying "wireless hardware can not be detected.

If I hit the F12 key to activate the wireless signal, I get a HP box that says - wireless is disabled "on your computer's wireless devices are disabled. To enable the wireless devices, press the wireless button. I do it and the message disappears, but the wireless light is still orange and I get no signal.

It does not appear that my wireless router is the problem that I can not detect any signal from my neighbors, or when I take my laptop to work, like I did before this issue emerged. I ran my HP Support Assistant and the resolution of the problems of network and Internet - HP check network connectivity, but it does not find any type of wireless device. The wired connection still works.

My machine is under Windows7 Home Premium.

    Thank you - Craig

Please reinstall your driver wireless in the Recovery Manager window.

START > type RECOVERY in the search field > select RECOVERY MANAGER in the search list > under "I need immediate assistance" in the window Recovery Manager, please click DRIVERS and REINSTALL APPLICATION > and select your WLAN Wireless driver in the list and tap INSTALL at the bottom right of the Recovery Manager window

Please let me know if it works.

  • Satellite Pro R50-B-114 - time to ping to router WLan problem

    Hello!

I have a new laptop Satellite Pro R50-B-114.
Unofrtunetely, when I connected it to my home network (router), I spotted there is problem with wireless adapter.

Sometimes, everything works fine (ping ~ 1 ms to the router), but sometimes he changes completely (2000 to 3000 ms to the router).

These problems are present, even if I have 2-3 meteres of router.
I'm sure this is problem laptop ' other cos my work cell phones / devices very well with this router.

    OS: Windows 7 drivers: update.

Someone at - it an idea of what's going on?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hmm... have you tried using different stadards WLan (802.11 A / C / G or N)

As I am not mistaken the laptop was equipped with wireless network cards of new generation of Intel Wireless-AC 3160 that supports the 802.11 standard ac + agn.

I recommend you check this setting.
For the wireless network card, you must go to
Manager of devices-> tab advanced Wlan card → properties →
Here, you can change the Wlan standard as well as other settings.

I would recommend you also check the Wlan stadrd in the Wlan router configuration and to ensure that the same standard is used by the network router Wlan wireless card.

Also, the use of different WiFi (WPA/WPA2 AES, TKIP) encryption can improve performance.
