S205 problem - poor WLAN Wireless

Does anyone have any experience with bad reception WLAN? Only directly next to the WLAN router at a distance of 1 m WLAN works. Other wireless networks do not appear in the WLAN list, with other computers laptops and androids several wireless LANs are recognized. Maybe it's a software problem, but I fear that there is a physical problem with the WLAN antenna. Can anyone help with this?

I operate my S205 (Atheros 9285) with Win7 64 bit Home Premium, it was initially installed.

Thanks to boooogy in the meantime I also replaced the atheros by intel 6200, now it works perfectly, bios section was not really a problem)))
the atheros card is rubbish, not usable, simply amazing...

Idon't understand one thing. The test function as "access point" during a test of DUT?

For example, CMW500 (R & S), MT8860C (Anritsu) work as 'access' point in a trial of DUT.

Alternatively, NI test may some other test modes HAD?

    Concerning

    Ruslan.

    Ruslan63,

    Short answer:

The NI WLAN toolkit does not act as an access point.  It offers measurement analysis and generation of waveform in accordance with IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/j/p/ac/ah/af. You should be able to put your device in test mode and have transmitting packets or packets of report he received successfully.

Longer answer (drawing of some notes I made):

Two main methods of testing are signaling or signaling reduced and non-signalisation.  NEITHER supports non-signalisation. There are pros & cons of each.  Here is a quick table showing some differences.

      Signalling Non-Signalisation
Test speed slow (mins) fast (dry)
    Cost test instrument high low
    Development time low high
    Sw/test protocol stack Yes NO.
Required unit test mode NO. Yes

If you test the stack of protocol/software of your device, or if you have no way to control your device in test mode, you should use signs and cannot benefit from the advantages of signalling No.

Today, the trend is to use no signage for regression tests during the validation and design of the product and production test. Developers buy the modules and chipsets including sellers have already validated the software stack and Protocol.  As long the developer not to waste the chip/module, risk of product failure is very low. Thus, as designers to put the chip/modules in a circuit, they use no signs of regression tests to quickly validate the functionality of RF (that is, the physical layer RF) of the chip/module has not been compromised. A subset of this very fast, parametric test can often be used for production testing. Yet once, as long as the production process is not spoil the chip/module, so the risk of failure is low.

WLAN Wireless products, were among the first to use the test of no signage.  Almost all WLAN vendors have a driver to control the device in test mode. The general categories of control are similar (e.g. Tx N packets of data type given the power), but orders are not normalized between suppliers. The interface for the control of test device mode varies also (UART, USB, SDIO).

Bluetooth has a standard interface based on the COM port and the command set is the same between vendors (NICE!). For this reason, NEITHER has been able to create libraries of control device as part of its suite of tests of Bluetooth.

Control of the cellular device varies such as WLAN, and shifted in no signal test, they are now driving difficult due to high volumes and $$$. In addition, a test of cell signalling can take 2 to 3 minutes vs 10-20 sec.  And if the call "injects" you don't have many options other than to rerun the test.  And the cost of test equipment can be > x 5.

Navigation receivers can acquire a signal satellites simulated (for example using NI GPS Toolkit) and quickly provide support noise measurement on N satellite signals detected.  While this isn't really non-signalisation, it represents the time savings based on the same approach necessary to lock onto satellite signals 'good' protocol/software stack has already been validated and the risk is low.  Waiting for a satellite lock may take minutes, which for many is unacceptable, especially in production tests.

As the cost of the chips drop, functionality increases, the cost of the test becomes a greater % of product. Businesses now demand not signalling test improved support to control costs.  In my opinion, any provider module/chip that don't offer not supported no signaling tests will lose market share.  This should be the first question a request before company decided on a module/chip provider because the test costs can sometimes outweigh the cost of the chip!

I worked with a variety of businesses

    (A) who have more expensive 0 - 2 signalling testers for design/validation, while having much more (x 10) testers no signage for the production test and regression tests.

    (B) who produce high mix low volume products where they have that 1-2 testers signage for all tests.  In their case the advantage of not having to spend time developing the device control code is the largest economies, and their time to test/debit is not important.

    (C) who have no way to control test (for example the sealed device) device of fashion and have only the option of test signals.

NEITHER focuses on the company to a types.

    I hope this clarify things.

  • 4320 proBook s - problems with the wireless Assistant

    Hello

I have my ProBook s 4320 for about half a year now. For most of the year the half I had problems with the wireless assistant - it seems that when I start my laptop it takes about 5 to 10 minutes before the work of the internet. I never changed any settings in the wireless assistant.

Nobody does face these same questions and no one knows how the internet starts immediately when I start my laptop? I tried this on different places with different wireless modems, but everywhere, it's the same thing and books of other people can use internet immediately.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

    You are welcome to help

The fact that it connects properly in Mode safe indicates that the driver who normally starts with Windows or a program is causing the problem - most likely candidate is to begin by F-Secure.

Before attempting the following procedure, make sure that you have an installation of F-Secure program, so you can re - install this software, and also a license key necessary to activate it.

Then, from the windows control panel. Open programs and features, click on the entry for F-Secure once to highlight, and then click the option to uninstall at the top of the window.  Once done, restart the laptop.

Again, when windows restarts, check the internet connection by using only a known secure site.

Let me know how this affects the problem.

    Kind regards

  • I started having problems with the wireless mouse and the carpet of my laptop - Lenovo ThinkPad T420 mouse.

Original title: right click on the mouse itself activating

I borrowed a USB to a person at work and I started having problems with the wireless mouse and the carpet of my laptop - Lenovo ThinkPad T420 mouse. The left click of two devices works normally, however, sometimes she does not respond to clicks and it takes a few seconds to work. The left button was constantly starts to turn on, as if he was stuck. After that I hit Alt + Tab and modify windows it stops for a few moments and starts at a later date. I havo not found a specific condition or a combination of keys that may trigger the fault.

I read a few posts on discussion forums, but all say that it could be a hardware problem, which I think is not, because both devices have the same problem and I'm sure it all started with the insertion of the borrowed memory stick. I scanned the readers to help Symantec's EndPoint Protection and installed Microsoft Security Essentials and performed a full scan, but found nothing. I even restored the system, but the problem remains.

Should I get a different antivirus? How can I find the cause so I can find a better targeted solution?

  • Problems with N5050 wireless

Hi I've had problems with a wireless N5050 for six months now. He was inconsistent and little by little do worse even if the signal always displays also available. I have a N5030 who has never had any problem to connect to the same wireless network. I tried to reinstall the drivers. I tried to change the configuration wireless between WEP / WPA etc... I've updated the BIOS. This seemed to have worked briefly, but after about 3 or four connections immediate restarts more than 2/3, he returned to be flaky. Usually when I try to connect it fails and I need to connect a cable directly from the router for access. If I leave it on it will usually manage to connect to some point in the next hour or two. The windows messages/troubleshooting help make no difference and seem to contain no useful leads. Another curiosity is that usually when he can't connect only lists my wireless network and one or two others, but when he is able to connect it lists more neighbors etc... I also tried some changes configuration after completing the other threads, but without improvement. Firewall and AV is McAfee, but it's no good to an immediate connection is restarted in Mode safe mode with networking that seems that reading absolves McAfee to be the problem? The laptop out of the warranty period, is it likely to be a problem with the wireless card or is there other configuration changes, I can try? Thanks Ben

    Ben,

You have changed security WPA, correct?

    You wireless router Belkin router?

I had you get your product key of McAfee using Belarc Advisor

Then remove McAfee using the McAfee removal tool , and then restart your computer and try to connect.

  • I have a problem with the wireless network card.

    Hello

I use a laptop Medion MIM 2210 and I have a problem with my wireless network adapter.

I get a message before Windows 7 starts telling me that there is problem with a wireless driver. The exact message says:

    "Intel UNDI, PXE - Z.0 (build 082)

    Copyright (C) 1997,1998,1999 Intel Corporation

VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter v2.43 (2005/12/15)

PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of

"PXE - MOF: exit Inel PXE ROM.

This message appears every time you start and I don't know what he means by "Media Test Failure".

I turned on my laptop today and noticed I had no internet connection, it showed that it connected but with yellow '!' symbol indicating that it was not fully connected. He did this for a while now and I have reinstalled Windows, in safe mode and I tried to delete the drivers and re - install, but it hangs right on uninstall what makes me angry no the case.

Of course now, I tried to look for help my internet connection is running but the message is still there. Can someone tell me what to do or how to solve this problem, I am standing now on what to do. I was also on the drivers Medion website but it is impossible to navigate around and drivers without end there'e to choose. I would consider ringing them and asking them if they were not located in Germany as it would cost me a bomb! I did just now searching online via the Device Manager to see if he can find an update for the drivers but nothing came.

Thanks for any help that anyone can offer :)

The message is to be cause the BIOS looking for boot from LAN (not wireless) before it starts and then from the hard drive. The Media test failure is because to boot from LAN it tests to see if the wired Ethernet is connected, it is not if it generates the error message.

Enter the BIOS press F2 after initial power on but before the Logo Windows shows

Integrated devices should allow you to set the settings of wired network adapter. According to the BIOS it is either "enabled with PXE" or have another option to enable or disable the boot ROM

In the boot options the LAN card should be removed altogether.

This message is ONLY applicable to the transfer of the BIOS boot process and should have no impact on the problems of WiFi (it is not on WiFi)

  • IM problems with my wireless connection, it says my DNS server does not respond, what is this, can help to somone, thanks

IM problems with my wireless connection, it says my DNS server does not respond, what is this, can help to somone, thanks

    Hello

Thanks for posting the question in the Microsoft Community!

You can't use the wireless connection and the message that the DNS server is not responding.

The problem may occur if the computer is unable to connect to the DNS server.

To check, I suggest you follow the steps:

    Method 1: Re-register the DNS

    a. Click Start. Type cmd in the search box and press ENTER.

    b. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
ipconfig/flushdns (there is a space between ipconfig and /)

It will display the message properly emptied the cache of DNS resolution.

    c. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
ipconfig/registerdns (there is a space between ipconfig and /)

    d. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

ipconfig/all (there is a space between ipconfig and /)
The command ipconfig/all command displays for all your network adapters, TCP/IP in Windows settings.

If your IP address of your Local network connection is 0.0.0.0 or 169.x.x.x (where x is a number any), then your computer does not receive an IP address from router.
If this is the case, try this:

    i. enough at the command prompt ipconfig and press ENTER

II. ipconfig / renew in command prompt and press ENTER

The test again by typing ipconfig/all to see what is the address? (If you are on a router, it should start by or 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x 10.x.x.x)

    Method 2:

    a. click Start and then click Control Panel.

    b. go to the networking and sharing Center and then click on change adapter settings.

    c. right-click on connection to the Local network and select Properties.

    d. Select Internet Protocol Version 6, and then click Properties.

    e. choose the DNS server to obtain an address automatically , then press Ok.

    f. Select obtain IP address automatically.

    g. Repeat steps for Internet Protocol version 4 as well.

  • Compatibility problem XP Dell Wireless 1395 mini-map WLAN driver currently installed Vista Home Edition 32 bit Service Pack II

Hi, my OS is Windows Vista Home Edition 32 bit Service Pack 2 - installed on XP by the owner without first unintalling XP.  Although my Device Manager lists the mini-map Dell Wireless WLAN 1395 as working properly, what Windows says that it has stopped working correctly because the driver installed is not compatible with my current operating system (just one of the many questions).  Although I can get online wireless most of the time, IE and Google Chrome often freeze and there are a few minutes, I got a blue screen - not for the first time - that shut down Windows.  I note the other error message information that a fatal error has occurred that required Windows stops, so am not sure that the two problems are related or not.  I tried to find a compatible driver for what I assume is a WLAN Mini card for the original XP OS on the compatibility of Vista site, but there is no driver is listed for the Dell Wireless WLAN mini-map 1395.

I have the Vista installation CD, but not the verification code necessary to reinstall.  It will appear somewhere on this computer under the program or the ancillary system (information) available to administrators?

Just out of curiosity, there is a feature of rectangular white USB printed with the name "Biogear" attached to one of my ports, although he is not listed among devices on my computer since the computer laptop original owner died and I can not ask what is its purpose or what program it was meant to facilitate. I tried to remove it and it came out (the envelope detached the part inserted into the USB port) without affecting my ability to access the Internet wireless.  An internet search has a line of golf apparel and a few articles in German... Any ideas?  Thanks, Lara

If the original owner installed Vista on XP, you need to reformat and do a fresh install of Vista or you will continually have problems multipling. If the original owner is an update from XP to Vista it is OK. However, the problems that you're seen suggest the original owner installed Vista on XP. Verification code (if found on the computer) will not be for Vista but for XP. As long as your operating system is installed, you can retrieve the key with Free Key finder software, do a search and you will find them on the internet. Also if you have the CD and ask for a new key to Microsoft you will get it at a very low price, I don't know no current tax, was $ $10,00. Since you are not the original owner (and the first owner died) both of these options may not be totally legal, unless you can provide proof of purchase or the person deseased was a member of the family.

But... and it's funny... If I set up as manual connections of the "network list" a set up as the only automatic connections (e.g. access point) and I turn off the access point I can see it disappear in the form of the "network list". If I turn on once more and click on update network list, the wireless connection to the access point will automatically launch. Hello

Your ad is a little confusing.
You do not write on the connection. Have you used the windows WLan configuration or the Atheros WLan utility?
I advise to use the Atheros Wlan utility to configure the WiFi connection, because it is an Atheros Wlan card.
Of course, you can also check the availability of updates. If the new driver has been on the Toshiba site so you can try to install it.
