"Untrusted connection" for many sites

I am a new Windows 10 laptop recently installed firefox, and now firefox says "this connection is untrusted" with many sites, even the search bar. I noticed what I googled something directly from the search bar it will say "untrusted connection"; However if I remove the s in "https" then I'll be able to get on the site. Example: I googled 'Hello', the address that turned an untrusted connection was "https://www.google.com/search?q=hello & ie = utf-8 & oe = utf-8", to remove the s, I could get on the site, the address of the site became "https://www.google.com.sg/search?q=hello & ie = utf - 8 & oe = utf - 8 & safe = on & gws_rd = cr, ssl & ei = 5u3TVevvNsnk0gSEiZ7QDg & safe = active". "" Yes, my date and time is set correctly. I use AVG Antivirus on Asus Zenbook. I tried a lot of solutions in many forums including this support forum. Please help, it's really annoying me.

Here are all the details of "untrusted connection":

You asked Firefox to connect safely on www.youtube.com, but we cannot confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect safely, sites will present a reliable identification to prove that you're in the right place. However, the identity of this site cannot be verified.
What should I do?

If you normally connect to this site without problems, this error can mean that someone is trying to impersonate the identity of the site, and you should not continue.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HST) to specify that Firefox didn't connect safely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate. »

One thing you don't mention that seems to have an impact on a large number of users of Windows 10 that parental control is applied to their accounts, causing seemingly random silent blockages. Could you control parental Microsoft and either turn it off or take your account out of the family: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/turn-off-microsoft-family-settings

    • (On 64-bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
    1. Go to the Windows Start menu and click on 'computer '.
    2. In the Explorer window that opens, double-click on disk Local (c) to open the C:\ drive.
    3. Find the folder "Program Files (x 86)" or "Program Files".
      • On 32-bit Windows, double-click the Program Files folder to open it.
      • On 64-bit Windows, you'll see a folder "Program Files (x 86)" AND a "Program Files" folder. Open the Program Files (x 86) folder.

  • Completely disable the "Untrusted connection" dialog box

I am a professional developer stuck behind a proxy at work. The behavior of this power of Attorney causes the SSL connection attempts get a certificate signed by my company, not the web site I try to connect to. I have no control over the proxy, so change this behaviour is out of the question.

I need to use Firefox for a number of things and am generally fine adding exceptions for sites that I want to connect. However, some sites like github.com loading resources many other areas via SSL (CDN, Google Analytics, Gravatar, etc.). For these sites, I try to add exceptions in order to allow the company a signed, cert but I can only add to github.com, not any other sites, so even after adding an exception I'm brought back in the right to the page "this connection is untrusted". No matter how many times I try to grant a waiver, I never really get to github.com.

Other browsers on my system are administered remotely and seem to be configured to automatically trust signed certs society. I need to know how to manually configure Firefox to always trust these certificates OR never shows me the unreliable connection dialog box and just maybe show red in the address bar when he does not trust the site cert.

Apparently in OS X, there are at the level of the authorities of certification system. I don't know why it does not use Firefox, but I was able to export the CA company and import it in Firefox. Finally solved my problem.

  • your connection to this site is not private, chrome

I was recently doing a warning when you access certain websites in Chrome. On the left side of the toolbar, I see an exclamation point, and if I click on it I saw the following message.

This began to occur on Web sites that were previously well until about 2 weeks ago. To be clear, I am not prevented access to the page. I'm using Chrome version 52.0.2743.116.

I would be grateful for any advice.

This message means that the site is just using http, https protocol.

HTTPS is an encrypted http is not connected. Google has started this warning. Many sites will https. The form went to https about a year ago or not.

  • I can get some future Web sites and others do not. When I try to connect to any site, I get this message and cannot connect

    The secure connection failed

An error occurred during a connection to mail.yahoo.com. The peer certificate has an invalid signature. (Error code: sec_error_bad_signature)

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

The most common reason for the 'sec_error_bad_signature' many sites seems to be the shield of Web of Avast. Web Shield intercepts your navigation and filter, but to filter sites secure, it has "fake" certificates for Firefox. Avast have set Firefox to rely on its false certificates, but which seems to fail on a regular basis.

To test this theory, try disabling scanning of encrypted sites. I saw these steps in another post:

    1. Open the Avast dashboard on an affected system.
    2. Select settings in the left side menu.
    3. Adopt a Protection Active.
    4. Click on customize next to the Web Shield.
    5. Uncheck the option "Enable HTTPS analysis", and then click ok

If that solves the problem, but you want to filter encrypted communication, you need to import the Avast! signature in Firefox Certificate Manager of certificates, References tab.

  • Problem connecting to https sites

From now on for all sites with https connection, I got message on all pages of google.

Also you can add this message as an exception

www.Google.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.
The server may not send the appropriate intermediate certificates.
A certificate of origin additional should be imported.

    (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

Another site with https, if add exceprtion in the console, I saw exception

This site uses a SHA - 1 certificate; It is recommended to use the certificate with the signature algorithms that use stronger than SHA - 1 hash functions. [Learn more]

As for the site with addons

services.addons.Mozilla.org uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. The server may not send the appropriate intermediate certificates. A certificate of origin additional should be imported. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer).

Now, you can not use FF.

    Yestreday, everything was fine.

Sorry to hear about these worries.

This often affects users who have security software that filters the secure connections, such as Avast, BitDefender, ESET or Kaspersky. These products brought to 'false' certificates in Firefox to intercept and decrypt your navigation. If you (1) was updated to a new version major of this product, or (2) use the feature reset and updating Firefox, Firefox can trust is no longer in your security software to generate these false certificates then you set Firefox up to work with her again.

But another cause can be malware which hung a ride with some software you installed recently.

To try to find the cause, on the error page, please develop the third section ("I understand the risks") and click on the button add exceptions. We will not actually save an exception again, but this opens a dialog with a button to display the certificate in order to verify the "who" or "what" signed the untrusted certificates. You can cancel from the dialog box add exceptions.

For comparison, I have attached a screen where I packed the "distributed by" and "Hierarchy of certificates" information for this site. As your watch?

    Hello

What antivirus software do you use? If you use Kaspersky, please see:

If you don't use Kaspersky but have an antivirus or firewall with some form of scanning of HTTPS, you need to add their false certificate from Firefox, using steps similar to what is shown in the link above.

Hi, Conson, the idea to rename to oldcert8.db cert8.db is causing Firefox ignore the old file and start a new one. I don't think that there is an add-on that works better for this purpose.

With regard to the interpretation of "database file" that's exactly the problem: we do not know what your system meant by "database file" since this definition to the file extension depends on what is stored in your Windows registry and can be changed by applications.

That said, there is normally no other cert8 file in the Firefox profile folder, it is probably the right one. And if chaos follows, you can rename it back.

Also, make sure that Firefox is closed before you rename files settings.
