Unwanted bold font

I work with Roboto police in Word and trying to create a PDF using Acrobat Pro DC. Is to convert all fonts except the italics in bold. How can I solve this problem? I already checked the embedded font settings, and it's all good.

    Hmm, another user Windows 10 reported this after installing some Helvetica fonts.

    In your screenshot, the text 'blue indicated' is the following style rule:

    font-family: "helvetica neue",arial,helvetica,sans-serif;

    So I guess you have Helvetica Neue installed locally, which seems to have strange problems in Firefox.

    If you don't want to remove this font on your system, you can use custom style rules for Firefox overrides Arial, which is what I see on Windows 7 on this page. I saw the first time that documented in this article (from 2010!):

  • Title / "BOLD" fonts appears as gibberish

    This has been an annoying problem with Firefox for the month for me. The police of some position or "BOLD" text on some websites comes out as gibberish, mostly a combination of foreign letters. Numbers of are displayed in a combination of MNOPQRSTUVW. Switching between the character encoding does nothing, but I'm usually on Western (ISO-8859-1) or Unicode (UTF-8). It seems not to be a problem of fonts system on my PC because IE and Chrome is able to correctly display the fonts on the same pages. I tried to search the fonts corrupted on my PC and have resulted in nothing. I also tried to disable all my plugins and addons of Firefox and it made no difference. Would appreciate input on this weird problem because I'm out of ideas.

    User Agent

    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; Chrome/5.0.375.70 en-US) AppleWebKit/533.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/533.4

    This problem may be caused by the version of the bitmap of the font Helvetica or Geneva or another font (bitmap) that cannot be displayed by Firefox in this font size.
    Firefox cannot display that font in the specified gibberish of size and display instead.
    You can test in zoom out (view > Zoom > Zoom out, Ctrl-) to make the text smaller.

    Uninstall (remove) all variants of this not working do Firefox, use a different font or find a version of real type of the font that doesn't have the problem.

  • MICR Printing non-bold fonts

    We have a check writing application that produces PDF format controls.  We bought MICR OCR - A font, Adobe, and I developed the control on my PC and have tested them on our printer check MICR.  The Bank wants the MICR "BOLD" line, so that's what I did, and it prints well on my machine.

    But the person who in fact our controls of printing can not get the "BOLD" to work.  I installed the same fonts on his machine, and we are both using the same version of Adobe Reader (the latest version).  Printer drivers are the same.  Printer and Adobe Reader settings seem to be the same.

    Anyone has an idea as to why this would be?  I've not seen anything like that before and do not know what is the fix.

    Fake fat is poison; regardless of the request of the Bank, I suggest that you find another way. PDF doesn't have any notion of faking "BOLD". Horrible things can happen

    -the PDF Creator allows to print the police several times, slightly offset

    -the PDF Creator can describe the police

    -the PDF Viewer can use the system to display the font, that could provide false "BOLD", differing by system and depending on whether it is installed

    Unpredictable and messy.

    You may choose to outline and fill fonts. That would be repeatable at least.

    The other thing to watch out is scaling on printing. Things like bar codes, OCR fonts can be very sensitive size.

    Shut down my computer and restarted.  Police now shows in the drop-down list.  Weird.

  • Why isn't bold fonts?

    I use Illustrator to create a couple of graphic novels and have created a custom truetype font based on my own writing. I did it by sweeping that on a printed form and sending an online service called YourFonts... I was happy with the result, paid for the download and have been using it later. However, I also need bold and italics variants of this. Rather than go through the process twice again (at a cost of $15 the time) I decided to use a free font editor called FontForge to create these variants (which turned out to be deceptively simple). The image below shows the original font and variants:

    LauraEssVariants.jpg

    I used FontForge on behalf of the LauraEss font family, the subtypes of Regular, Bold and Italic, and the names of files and equivalent policies. However there seems to be a problem with this in Illustrator, who do not have other applications in Windows 7. For some reason any fat does not seem to be different from the original. Here is what looks like an example of text (and draws as) in Illustrator:

    LauraEssFontIllustrator.jpg

    But here's the same text in Word format (including a fake cursor):

    LauraEssFontWord.jpg

    I noticed that the police is much more flexible in Illustrator CS5, and I do not think that Word performs a fake bold or italic. http://FontForge.sourceforge.NET/Overview.html#TOC

    Laura sent me three fonts and using the ttx to empty its files in a readable/editable format I was able to adapt to them - there were a few errors, probably due to the fact that FontForge has not treated the three fonts as belonging to the same "family":

    "1. the usWeightClass was 'medium' for all three, while it should be""Bold" for the police "BOLD". "

    2. the italicAngle in the table 'post' for italics is 0, whereas it should have some value of negaitive (I put it-"12", which seems a common value)

    3. a real head-scratcher, as at that time there italics and "BOLD" keys worked, but the order of the menu police was still not correct (italic first, then regular). I finally found that for a font italicized, you must also set the caretSlopeRun and the caretSlopeRise of some magic values other than the default value "1.0" (indicating a cursor "upward"). Change to semi-magie (*) "1 000 176" finally resolved values.

    (*) Semi-magic because these values apparently doing something, but I'll be darn if I know how to interpret...

    Reading his original post, I belately realize I don't have Word to test with. But his policies are "Comparefamily" of Adobe and tests validator Microsoft font families, so I guess this should then be allright.

    ... It was a useful exercise for me as well because thinking that italics problem told me something I didn't know that could be a problem in a font!

  • The unwanted "BOLD"

    Hi the who!
    When I copy and paste into Word everthing Dreamweaver's "BOLD". I went into the code and got rid of < strong > and < b > but this doesn't seem to be worthwhile. The f... ng "BOLD" makes me crazy. I seem to be the ab to do nothing to change the "BOLD", even when I change the fonts, and click the big B

  • Bold fonts are displayed as fractions. I don't know how to adapt this.

    This problem occurred suddenly on my Mac. The police is fine in safari.

    You can check policies corrupt and duplicate and other police issues:

    You can attach a screenshot?

    • Use a type of compressed as PNG or JPG image to save the screenshot
    • Make sure you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB
  • Why web pages designed by FrontPage appear in anything other than a bold font when the coding is for normal characters?

    I'm editing a page on my web site. Once it has been loaded, I went to see what she looked like, and the police was all in "BOLD", even though I've coded normal character. The rest of my web site has converted all "BOLD", as well.

    I know that FrontPage is a pain in the back, and when I saw my pages in FrontPage, they always come out in bold. But the first time that this has happened when viewing my site in Firefox. Pages other sites seem fine, so why all of a sudden my web site is upward?

    Try each one in the order;

    First of all, load the page in the browser. Hold down the < shift > key,
    reload the page.

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
    While you are in safe mode;

    Type of topic: preferences #advanced< enter > in the address bar.

    Under Advanced, select General.
    Find and stop using hardware acceleration.

    Search web sites secure. Are there problems?

    If this did not help,
    Remove history for a single Site
    Open the history Manager < control > < Shift > H.
    In the search bar, enter the name of the site.
    Right-click on one of the lists and select forget this Site.
    This should remove all information, including passwords / settings.
