Unwanted pre-installed software and programs

I just bought a new computer and "fired yesterday. There are many pre-installed programs/software that I don't want.

I looked in the Control Panel, and they are not listed. I have a Revo Uninstaller, and they are not listed there either.

How to get them out of my computer?

I have a HP h9-1180 Phoenix uses Win 7 Home.

I'll do my best. Many of them are just shortcuts to Web pages. You can be quite confident removing them or if you feel that you can use later to create a storage folder and keeping them there for a while.

Windows 8 on screen starting subway if I right click on it can tell UPIN therefore, it's a shortcut. Or you can hear UNINSTALL it. So I know this is the program, so I uninstall it. But most of the time, they are just shortcuts.

You can deepen by right clicking on the icon, arrived at propterties and it will tell you if it's a shortcut or a program. It will also tell you where this program is installed if infact it is a program.

I hope this helps. Moreover, if Norton is out there you can download a TOOL of SUPPRESSION of NORTON on the web. Just Google for it.  Let me know if all others.  Jack

  • How to clone disk HARD of backup/restore for ideapad with pre-installed win8 and recovery button work?

    Hi all

I recently bought a y510p ideapad. It came with pre-installed win8, and I have no recovery CD. I intend to play with linux on this laptop, but do not want to lose win8. So before I have potentially immediately reformat, I think to make a copy of clone of my HDD on an external USB drive. The general plan is like that,

    1. make a copy of mobile on external USB HARD drive

2 mud with linux - and foolishly autour reformat the entire process

    3. have fed up with linux and want to return to windows

4 copy of retrospective data from usb driver external HDD latop

5 return to the comfort of win8

With the help of this tool (clonezilla) will work in the above scenario?

    http://www.MakeUseOf.com/tag/free-advanced-hard-drive-cloning-solution-from-Clonezilla/

If not, are there any other alternatives (free if all goes well) I could use?

My intention with the backup, is that after that I have 'restore' things, "a key recovery" button should continue to work as before.

Make the plan will cause OKR is not functioning properly. To prove this to get a hard drive of exact size and make a clone of hard disk of the device. Remove the hard drive from the unit and place the disc clone hard inside. You can now play with the disk hard clone to your hearts desire but OKR first test if it still works. Even if OKR no longer work, you can proceed with the installation of linux. Once you're disgusted with Linux everything you have to do is replace the hard disk clone with the original hard drive and you're back to win with OKR 8 still works.

  • Remove pre-installed software

Computers HP are equipped with software pre-installed that I will probably never use and is promotional only.  The following removable without denying Windows 7?

2 film theme Pad for HP Media Smart video

3 DVD Menu Pack for HP Media Smart Video

4 HP Media Smart DVD, music, Photo, Menu, video, smart, Smart video, Touch Smart Netflex

    5 HP Setup

    6 photo now

    7 photo Mover

    8 power Director

    9. press on drive

    10 Shockwave

    11 ask Toolbar

    12. ATT - RC car tool Support

Seems a number of these programs preinstalled for cameras and video.  I edit photos using Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and does not expect to use my computer as a TV. I'd appreciate your experience to remove the elements of learning.  To facilitate response, number instance with the name of the software of reference only.

    Thank you

    Hello

    You can uninstall everything but.

Article 10 - Shockwave is Adobe and used for rendering videos etc. in some Web pages.

The only other software you can consider keeping is HP MediaSmart DVD - depends on if your PC has a Blu ray player, if it doesn't you will need this software to play Blu ray.  If you don't have a Blu ray drive, you can delete it fortunately.

    Kind regards

  • Pre-installed software problems

I recently bought a Lenovo Y50-70 Touch model 20349 from best buy, when I started it upward the preinstalled Live Mcafee (antivirus) Protection says that there are 50 updates to recamended I don't think twice, but should have been suspicious. After that the updates that I discovered that it had installed 100 Malware, spyware and adware programs such as SearchProtect and Savepass. Rocketab was preinstalled on the computer that is reported to several harmful as Adware virus databases. I have Mcafee sense removed from the computer and have cleaned up the mess she had made. After consulting several IT professionals, it was determined that the preinstalled mcaffee was a malicious program to dress up like the real thing. They determined that because of the narrow high resource usuage that the program used when executing passively citing one of them "Mcafee is supposed to be a small footprint on the computer." When I returned to best buy to get the service of quality control I was refused the technician saying they couldn't prove which has been pre-installed of what I had installed. My audio driver is not present also its development options and I had to manually configure the graphics drivers in order to properly determine who should be the principal for some programs.

I found the problem took time with the audio, but I realized my part Dolby of the pilot was not fully upgraded it is always digital Dolby rather then home theater.

  • Problem on recovering pre-installed software.

My problem is a bit complicated.

I recently bought this HP Envy 14 1190ea when I was visiting my sister in the United Kingdom. I used there, and it worked like a charm.

Then I came back to the Brazil and a few days later the HARD drive no longer works. No problem, I just buy another HARD drive, installed my original Windows 7, install the drivers and it is good to go, until...

I noticed that I don't have the recovery Partition, of course, and I lost some of the delivered software pre-installed on Envy 14-1190ea, some of them that I use a lot, such as Adobe Photoshop Elements.

What should I do? How can I have my software back? Can I contact someone from HP to inform my number/product number and have a serial key for this software? Or quite simply, I lost my software for ever?

    Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately there is no way that you can choose what is the restore disk, they are designed to restore the computer to care of the factory, but there may be an out of the box in a way.

If you buy a new hard drive or even a second-hand which is at least the same size or bigger, then the one you use now, you can remove your current drive, insert the new (used) an and install the HP on the other disk operating system.

There will be a file on the new drive in 'C' called SwSetup, burn it on a DVD, you should find your Adobe Elements in there. This can be used to install Adobe turn it on for your present ounce by car that it is back in the machine.

The other way is to move all your belongings on a flash drive, reinstall the OS HP and drag your belongings to the own HP install.

The second solution would be preferable because your Adobe Elements may not be in the SwSetup folder for you to reinstall later. My dv8 had some preinstalled ArcSoft software retouching photos, when I got it and it was not present in the SwSetup folder.

I'm running a retail version of W7 now and there is no way to install the ArcSoft photo software with out having to buy a product key.

If you have a product key for your adobe, you can simply download Adobe and enter your key.

  • Satellite P750 - uninstall and reinstall several pre-installed software

I have laptop Toshiba P750L that all of a sudden asking me to uninstall and reinstall all the software that I had in my new laptop. First it was seeking Yahoo Messenger when I opened this program then iTunes to be uninstall and reinstall when I opened my iTunes, then it goes on Microsoft Office when I open my excel, now he he my software DVD Toshiba or uninstall and reinstall. It drives me crazy if I have to continue. Strangelu = y, he asked not for Google Chrome or Internet Explorer to be included in this sudden demand.

What happened to my laptop? where to download Toshiba video player (Blue Ray) if I uninstall and install it?

Shoul I am raising this store under warranty to stop those annoying control of Toshiba laptop? All this experience? I never have this issue with Sony or HP brand. It's my first time purchase Toshiba brand.

    The warning window said:
Or the necessary modules for this application is (are) missing. If the application restart does not resolve the problem, pleasse reinstall the application.

These above is appeared on all yahoo Messenger, itunes, DBMS, now a Toshiba DVD player, go figure what wrong with the Toshiba brand!

    Hello Lila

Your ad is quite confusing. A lot of software that you mentioned in your ad has nothing to do with Toshiba, including office Microsoft, Yahoo and iTunes. I imagine that you install also.
Player doesn't have to be updated if everything works well. I have iTunes installed on my computer and from time to tie, I also have information about some updates but I simply ignore it.

I have two laptops Toshiba and never noticed anything like that. If you use some additional software, there is nothing unusual. Most of them informs users about updates or new versions. It's what to make your decision. You can also disable these options. Check the properties of some applications.

  • Can I get the disks to a recovery for the pre-installed software?

Can I get copies of these Toshiba so that I don't lose the etc. preinstalled MS Office. ? The other thing is that there is a licensed copy of XP PRo top but shd originally came with xp family, so what do I do about it... ??? have the license ms on computer sticker... am bit confused and computers are not exactly my strong point, someone help without so far assume I know something...?

    Hello

The fact is that if you buy a new Toshiba notebook you also get the Windows operating system, drivers, tools and 3rd party applications.
All programs of this 3rd part of the image of Toshiba and you cannot install only selected application, but only the entire image of Toshiba.
Usually if a user loses the Toshiba restore cd so it can order it from the Toshiba service partner. But I'm not sure about the second hand units.

  • 1606 "appdata" cannot download or install hardware and programs

I need information on how to fix this error 1606 "appdata" cannot find on computer - cannot locate it or it may not be read... What can I do

    Hi Rodney cobbs,

This problem may occur if there is an incorrect setting in one of the following registry subkeys:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

Important: this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, see the link below.
    Back up the registry

Check the Microsoft KB article below which talks about a similar issue with Microsoft programs. You can give it a try and check if it works.

You receive an "Error 1606" error message when you try to install or remove a program from Microsoft

  • Qosmio X 300 - what pre-installed software can remove

I need to know what I can remove it and which must remain about bloatware! I would like to run the least possible, this is used for video and audio live and does not play videos with microsoft media waste!

I would also like to know why 90% of the time that processor is pegged at 1.5 GHz and not running at 2.4 GHz, appropriately!

I changed all of the properties that I can find which change cpu clock settings but it still stops back! It's embarrassing as I wanted a portable 1.5GHz, that I bought it for £50!

Besides the fact that it is slowing down its ok! someone Tosh get in touch as soon as possible!

I also like a new installation and remove some of the bloatware after execution of a recovery, but at least the additional software can be removed :)

Everything that is not specific Toshiba can be deleted, such as Google Desktop, Norton/McAfee.

Look in Control Panel of-> features of the program and remove the software, you don't want to. But do not touch the software that starts with "Toshiba." Toshiba positions are essential for the system and not to "pump up" Windows.

All CPU Core2Duo have power saving features (speed Stepping) that lower the speed of the CPU when the processor is idle. This saves battery power and keeps the laptop cool and can even extend the life of the CPU. He works automatically up to 2.4 GHz when additional speed is needed. Even desktop PC it these days, there is nothing to worry.

  • Satellite A300 - 1FC - Vista recovery without any pre-installed software

    Hello

I bought an A300 - 1FC to German string sotres Saturn.
It's a computer laptop nice until now the only thing that bothers me is the bunch of preinstalled software that is of no use to me.

Is it possible to recover the plain windows only and then install all the required drivers
and service packs manually. Or at least in a way that leaves out all the unnecessary software?

If not I'm quite willing to downgrade - I don't like vista particularly well anyway but handset
with the annoyment of the preinstalled software, it is certainly enough reason to get rid of him.

    Any help?

    See you soon

    aurtobi

    Hello

As you can see Toshiba, like all other manufacturers of portable, offers the recovery image. This recovery image contains all the necessary drivers, Toshiba has designed tools and utilities and also some additional software.

You must understand that maybe 10% of people have knowledge of PC and they are able to configure the laptop only. I am glad that you are one of them, but you must know that this recovery image is designed for the installation of operating system simple and not complicated. There is no possibility to install clean Vista using this recovery media.

Another way person doesn't force you to use each of them. All the unnecessary stuff, you can remove the system. Believe me I do the same thing. Your needs, you can optimize the operating system.

    Bye and good luck!

  • HP m9150f pre-installed software

I have following items proposed in "programs and features"...

Hardware Diagnostic tools (this is a piece of PC-Doctor, Inc. software I think)

    HP Active Support Library

    HP customer experience unavailability

    Program HP Customer Participation 12.0

    HP Easy Setup - Frontend

    12.0 HP solutions Center

    HP Total Care Advisor

    HP update

Can I safely uninstall without creating problems on my computer. I prefer to make my own driver/firmware updates when / if necessary.

    Thank you

    H9-1350 HP / Intel i7 3770 / 12 GB
    Windows 8 / HP w2207 monitor / Radeon 6870
Keurig ready for a coffee or Cup of hot tea

Thanks to all who responded. I uninstalled some of these elements. Two gave warnings about my C5580 AIO possibly affected if uninstalling has continued. One of these I might not link to the printer so I kept uninstalling on that one anyway. The HP Active Support Library has only a "Repair" option when I select in "Programs and features" so I left alone also. I printed several elements yesterday and a CD this morning with no problems. Now is it possible to mark this as "resolved"?
