UP2716D power button problem

Hello

so I bought a monitor UP2716D the other day and I have a problem with the power button (which is sensitive to the touch). So, the thing is that most of the time I have to press the button 5 - 6 times before she feeds, it rarely works the first time. It only occurs with the power button, the menu buttons work perfectly. Does anyone else have this kind of problem, or possibly a solution?

Thank you.

I know, it's so boring! But what I realized, is that if you drag your finger from left to right on the power button slightly, she works as 99% of the time, so I hope this helps.

First of all, I would like to
say you that I came up with this correction, after a clean reinstall of the
Vista. (I used the serial number of windows on the bottom of my laptop for)
install, so it's the same license as the OEM of windows and therefore
Tout_a_fait legal.) After the clean install and installation of all the
the drivers listed on the site of toshiba LED power button (also
known as the mute button) and the CDDVD butten (mediaplayer button)
stopped working. After browsing around forums toshiba I found
this case, I removed the support button utility that the mute button has acted as
a mute button. Also the mediaplayer button worked fine. Reinstalled
the utility support for the button and they have stopped working. After many
toshiba calls (I think about 5-6 in one day) they opened a
support ticket for me, because they (team support callcenter)
could not find a solution. Following their advice, I did the
next to try to make it work:

    * Don't have a system restore with the restore DVD.
    * Do you have an another clean install.
    * Install the drivers in various ways (alphabetically reversed by alphabetical order and order of collection DVD).
    * update my BIOS.
    * downloaded a 'new' version of value added package (which was the same thing I already had).
    * installed the VAP with and without technical support button utility, no changes.
    After doing everything
This, they said that they did not know the cause of my problem (at the beginning
they thought it was hardware related). They came with a possible
    anwer:

    "It is."
possible that we removed some features of windows vista
operating system so that our one utility for device drivers
work. In addition, we do support the configuration, that we delivered
When you bought the laptop. »

    Now of course, I have
understand that. I waited allmost a week, no response. Neither
by electronic mail, or by phone, so I decided to google more
    on the problem.

    After a certain
some research on Toshiba forum and Googling I came across
a thread that sayd I must first install the utility 'control '.
and the button press. Unfortunately what it did not work.

    Then, all of a sudden
Windows displays a message saying that I should install the TOSHIBA.
"ACPI-based value-added general use and logical device driver.
I clicked on the provided download link, and the VFR package was a newer version
version of the support page for my laptop which is held. So I downloaded
This PPV version 1.17 and installed it. After a reboot, the buttons
still did not work. But at least I got the file HWSetup.exe, where I
could turn the LED off. Look into the button holder utility, I have
saw that there where buttons like "Toshiba Assist" which my
    the laptop model is not.

    Navigation
through the toshiba forum I found a file named ButtonSettings.ini, in
which I can manually configure special keys. After a google
search on the name of the file, I found that all the buttons list
in a registry key. I saw the "Dimmer" file using the button
folder and clicked on it. Poof... lights went out. Click again,
Poof... lights turn it back on. So I replaced the wrong button definitions
with CDDVD and dimmer values. Saved my changes but is not a restart.
Opens the support button utility and change the path of
MediaPlayer (who was always there to a previous definition) to
Dimmer.exe. checked to see if the button CDDVD pointed
MediaPlayer and restarted. When everything has been started, I pushed on the
button again and presto... MUTE lights off. Pushed again, poof...
lights. Pressed the mediaplayer button and started to mediaplyer. I have
has been very happy when everything worked.
    Now that you
know the story, here's the fix.

    * Difficulty: *.
    * Download and install the new VAP from here: [http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/util_tvap_26084A.exe]
    * Choose Edit in the installation and make sure that everything is checked
    * do NOT restart after the installation.
    * Download the ini fix and the fixed registry
    * Uncompress its contents into your working folder.
    * Copy the ini into C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\TBS (where C: is the drive of program files)
    * In this same folder, start the exe called TBSbtnSt.exe
    * do NOT restart, click on 'no' in the dialog box.
    * Double click on the registry key, and then click 'Yes' to add to the registry
    * Then open the button support utility by clicking Start-> Toshiba-> utilities-> Toshiba assist. Help go to optimilization and click support button tohiba
    * If the path or the description is disabled, fix, and then click Save. See also if the CD/DVD mediaplayer points.
    * Restart you computer now.
    * If everything is is well past your special buttons should work.

    * WARNING: *.

    It worked for
me, with my Toshiba Satellite P300-h-13, edition windows Home premium 32-bit.
It should work on any model of 6 buttons with the mediaplayer and the mute
buttons. I am in no way responsible for any damage that may arise
If the fix does not work correctly. There is absolutely no. GARUENTEE
It will work for you. If the answer is Yes, he does, and if it's not it

  • How do windows 7 start, power button problems

Windows 7 Home premium on side of Dell inspiron 560 3.6

Windows does not start when the Start button / stop is pressed, windows has become a mini dump to protect the system, there is a timer on the Start button, what is the procedure to start?

    Hi Joan,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    a. you are able to view the Dell logo, when the system is turned on?

    b. What do you mean when you say, "windows went into a mini discharge to protect the system?"

    c. you are able to boot, sometimes, when you refer to "timer on the Start button? What Timer are you referring?

    d. do you have the Windows 7 installation disc?

    e. What is the final on-screen display when you turn on the system and let idle?

If you are not yet able to see the logo of the manufacturer Dell during system startup, you may need to communicate with the hardware Dell supports for the diagnostic system hardware.

If, however, you are able to see the nut of Dell logo not able to reach the login screen, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

If you have not tried running a startup of your system using a Windows 7 DVDrepair, I suggest you to try once. Try to boot from a disc to install Windows 7 on the Windows recovery environment mode and then try to run the Startup Repair tool and check if you are able to start normally.

See the section: How to use Startup Repair in the following link.

    Startup Repair: frequently asked questions

If the problem persists, try the following method.

    Method 2:

Step 1: Try to start your system in a State of services necessary to the operation and a minimum set of drivers enabled, called Safe Mode.
Start your computer in safe mode

Step 2: If the system works fine in safe mode, try to clean the system startup:

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: See "how to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting" to prepare the computer to start as usual after a repair.

  • POWER BUTTON LOCKOUT

My new HP Pavilion Elite (m9525f) desktop PC, quadcore and my new HP Monitor (w2338h) don't seem to work well together and just purchased April 18/09.   When I want to close my monitor, connected to my turn I push the high power button on my screen and it will not turn off and I get this message "hold on power button?   I'm operating Vista Home Premium(64 bit) entered previously connected.  I called HP support and said the first time to turn my turn and while holding down the power button on my screen, I also had to disconnect the power supply for a minute (while holding down the power button) and then plug my monitor back in and turn on my Tower.  It did not work.  Then they told me to go in my monitor options and click default settings to rest and it does not work. Then I was instructed to go into my device manager, display seetings and uninstall my Navidia 9300GE driver, then reboot my system and it would be re - install, but this does not work either.  Finally, it told me to do a restore of the entire system to the factory settings and guess what?  He has not yet healed my monitor power button problem.  Please help or let me know if there is a solution that I'll remember the HP Support and give them a piece of my mind.  Thank you.

Hello.  I finally found a solution to my problem of a HP Tech named Dallas who is in the State of Oregon. The solution has been to hold down the power button on my monitor with power, for about 25-30 seconds and finally my monitor off. I can now turn off and then on my screen without any problems. Thanks to Dallas from HP.

  • 27 "2013 mac only shut down using the power button / stop, is this a problem or a part of the new system

  • Problem intermittent boot Tecra S2 after pressing the power button

    Hi all
I have a Tecra S2 with the 6600go GFX card.
The machine is large but presents the following problem.

After that the machine was interrupted for a while it will start not reliable.
You press the power button. Either as soon as you release the power button or a second later (changes every time) the green power light comes on. The fan spins at high speed then slows down to a crawl a few seconds later (as usual) but LCD does not illuminate.
Also when it does not start USB devices are not initialized (I have a product key dongle which will flash if it is not initialized - when you start the laptop properly this dongle on continuous - a normal start, it is initialized before the ramtest BIOS)

I've updated the bios a couple of times - it is now 2.4 (I noticed the power button timings were changed in the V1.9) but this has not solved the problem.

I tried to start on the current with battery removed, ca battery & battery only - the result is the same.

I can start later button power until the laptop off, wait a few seconds and then try to get back to work.
After several of these cycles, it will begin eventually to the top. Recently, it seems that it took several attempts before start-up.

If I have used the laptop for an hour or two and then turn it off it will start almost always a first time.

If I put the laptop to sleep (orange slow flashing power LED) then half the time that it will continue when you press the power button - the other half of the power LED will switch to the green but the LCD display remains inactive & I switch the power button.

Any help or advice would be welcome.

    Thanks in advance,
    Robin

    Hello

    This seems very odd.
First of all: you can boot from USB only if the floppy drive is attached.
You can boot from these devices USB-drive floppy/disk HARD/ODD/LAN.

In my opinion the other unit starts the sound not as issues not a software problem.
I think there could be something wrong with the hardware. But it is not easy to say what it could be exactly.
You know, the look on the material is necessary.
I recommend you contact Toshiba service partner in your country.
They have much more experience in such cases. Guys can run tests and then can give you correct information about the failure.

  • Weird problem with Qosmio F50-108 - power power button

    Hello

I have strange problem with button / stop on Toshiba Qosmio F50-108 - pressing the power button won't start the computer. Now, the computer starts only when I press the first button to the right of the power button (Toshiba button Support).

It's as if the buttons have been activated. The power button is still able to stop the laptop or put on standby when you press on, but it no longer starts. Recently, I had my laptop on the service, but I put t know if it has been opened or not. Is it possible that the problem is hardware related or is - this serious just of system configuration? It would help if I Flash the BIOS? Otherwise I will take to the service again.

    Thank you for the answers!

    Hello

If the laptop was on the service, please call them and explain the situation. Start button / stop is only the button that can be used for the specification of switching on and, as far as I know, it cannot be changed with certain parameters.

I assume that there must be a contact problem.

Call and see what they say on this subject.

  • HP Slate 6, (problem: do not turn on the display, by pressing the power button once)

A month ago, I bought the HP slate 6. The screen does not light by pressing the single time power button. But if I press the power button three times, then it lights. I also make sure that the switch has no problem. I think it's a software problem not hardware.

Do not forget that I have improved my slate to kitkat. This problem alone caught up in not before Kitkat.

I've had my palm tx for 3 years now and I have had some problems with it. (because I bought it on the web, there was the guarantee) the first problem is the "power" does not work anymore? and the second, the scan goes blank (white) when I press one funds 4 (calendar or at home...). What could be the case of this defect?

I bought my palm tx 3 years ago... problem: the power button work anymore; appear it only in a white light scanning when I press on the back 'home '.

The warranty on a TX is only 1 year from the date of purchase.  Yours is way past the period covered.

The switch was a small part of the TX.  Pressing any other button will turn on the unit, and it will turn off let it expire.

There is a wire on the switch repair yourself, if you're a DO-IT-YOURSELF person here type:

  • Power button option-market problem / stop setting

Current running Windows 7 Home Premium on an HP desktop with a 3.20 Ghz processor and 8 GB of RAM.

My Tower sits at the bottom of a carriage of the printer beside my desk.  I have the option of high power performance put and I changed my eating and sleep button options to do nothing to keep my toddler son to turn off the computer.  But the power button restarts or shuts down the computer.  How can I stop this from happening?  Is it possible to completely disable the power button all together?

If you are talking about the power on the screen button (on the start menu), and then if you upgrade to Windows Professional Edition, you can disable it by using the system policy settings (this is how large companies lock their settings so that employees cannot close their computers or such... it is also used for kiosks where you do not want the public to have access to the switch).

If you mean the real power on the computer tower - no button, you cannot disable it from stopping in case of holding.  It is the substitution of failsafe, where the computer cannot meet the close one-touch command.  The only option it is locked, or open the case and disconnect the cable (which could mean that you can no longer turn on the computer).
