Update 1123us dv4

Hello everyone; just a few questions to start the ball rolling. I want to know what I can upgrade processors intel t5800, and it came with 4 GB of memory. Can this increase in the number of? Also - this mother is rich in features, but I'll be doomed if there are programs on this thing that leaves me recording in stereo using a "line-in". I mean, to have the HDMI (AND BY THE WAY IS THAT - OUT - ONLY?) and roland sound canvas sound microsoft wave table (what is a midi device?) and IDT high definition audio in all the right places... OR SO IT SEEMS!   No monitoring of entry? The registration of external device program is only the * beep * webcam - w-microphones, external or built-in! Trying to find a recording feature and all you get is a recorder of the stupid Word, NOT EVEN 2 CHANNELS! ???    PLEASE SOMEONE ME SAY I ME WRONG, BECAUSE THAT'S NOT JUST!

Forget about using your default Audio chip for recording purposes.

Buying dedicated external sound card, you will have the stereo input.

There is a software based application to make it stereo, but I guess that the quality would be lower compared to the dedicated.

About 8 or 9 months ago there was a BIOS update. It has been downloaded, but you have not installed (installation failed). a few days ago there is another update for the Bios, but since my first update was unsuccessful I should try again or let alone since every thing works fine other wise.

Do not use the laptop (W8) a lot because I prefer my PC W7.

    Hello

Unless the bios update fixes a problem you're having with Notepad or offer additional functions, you need, my personal opinion would be not not to date.

If everything works Ok, I'd recommend just leave as is.

  • HP Pavilion dv4-1120br: doubts about the BIOS update for my model with the operating system current instaled.

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion dv4-1120br, I know that this model of HP laptop is old, but I instaled the 64 bit of Windows 10 on my machine and saw that my BIOS is version F.30 and the last of them available on the site of HP F.66 has.

The problem is that this model is not suport for Windows 10 because, as I said, is too old. Can I download and run the update of the BIOS for Windows 7 64-bit available in the Web site, or I need to downgrade my OS to Windows 7, update the BIOS and then pass it back to Windows 10?

    Thanks for the help!

    Cantarino

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

Your second proposal is correct - as the updates to the BIOS on the HP site are specific to the OS version and if you try to run one for Win7 in Win10, it will refuse to run.

    Good luck

  • Dv4-1120us bricked by update of the HP Bios

Frédérique put I went to update the bios on my laptop as I previously without incident.  Well this time the update downloaded, installed and turned off Windows Vista 64-bit SP1.  After that nothing! The lights of power will light up, but that's all.  No HP, no MSFT screen no screen no nothing.  Honestly, I think that it is a bios update due to the update of the HP. It's the update, I installed: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-67379-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&...   Long story short HP support chat session has been very helpful and I will send a box to air next day prepaid to ship at his own expense to solve this problem.  Comments are welcome, but I highly recommend anyone with this laptop not to install this update! I have taken out the battery, dethroned the ram and others without any result.  I hope they can fix.

"The power of the dark side!

lordvader311, many of us brick already our dv4s with the last update of the bios HP but you can fix it yourself in a few minutes as follows

BTW, the credit for this goes to PONGSTER who told us all that...

    Change Note:

I edited the steps for the dv4-1140GO users. Moreover, the 1125nr, 1140go and the CQ45 seem to share the same room, as they use the exact same application BIOS flashing.  This bodes well for those of you who need to get theire fixed dv4, instead of send for repairs.  Don't forget, if you missed your BIOS, sending in for repairs is not the only solution, I discovered, after searching for all possible solutions.  Do the following before you send anything in repairs

I have a dv4-1125nr.  I'm not sure this will help, but you may as well try it before your sending for repair.  I have corrected my messed up BIOS update by following the exact steps, I'll describe here.  There is hope, and you don't need to have your motherboard replaced.  Just follow the instructions and you should be typing on your dv4 in no time.  It took me about 10 minutes, senior, to get all this fact.

    Here we go:

Good... Here are the exact steps I took to get my dv4 back in working order after a failed update BIOS using HPbuggy update (I just had to repeat what we already know... ) I simply cut and paste of 0,0 steps, so all credit goes to him and the engineering on this forum (http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=340079&page=3) (Bigozone) Acer section

Here's the exact model number and general specifications: dv4-1125nr, Intel Integrated Graphics 4500, blah-blah-blah-blah (all I had to determine was update the BIOS was necessary for my dv4 with integrated... graphics card later)

    1. go to this site: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2100&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3795301 and download the file: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp41501-42000/sp41969.exe

    2. go where you downloaded the file and using 7 - Zip (or tool of your choice of course) unzip the contents to a folder of your choice. We'll get to that later, so keep this file open.

    3. I used a 128 MB USB Thumbdrive (the smallest I could find, because they said the smaller the better ) and reformatted as FAT (by default) in Vista by clicking with the right button on the drive and clicking on "format".

    4. now that my USB is ready, go back to the folder where you extracted the file to update the BIOS (always open to the right of the folder?)

    5. If you have the graphics card Intel integrated like me, copy the 30F7F24U. FD to the key USB and RENAME the file 30F7F24U. FD to 30F7. BIN

NOTE: the file 30F7F24U. FD is for those who have the Intel 4500 integrated video, while 30F7F24D. FD is for those who have the Nvida graphics.

Copy the appropriate file on the USB key, and then on the USB, rename it to 30F7. BIN

The next steps are to 0,0 exact steps, which I simply numbered him: (please follow the correct procedures here and 5 minutes from now, you'll be typing a response to this post on your currently borked dv4 )

6 unplug the adapter from the laptop.

7 remove the battery from the laptop.

8 insert the USB key into one of the USB ports on the laptop.
Does not seem to matter which.

    9. press the 'Windows' key and the 'B' key

    10. connected to the power adapter.

11 press the 'Power' button on the laptop.

    12. when the LED is entered, letting go of the power button / stop and the two keys down earlier.

    13. After about 10 seconds the notebook started to read the USB key. While searching for the file, the laptop beeps every seconds.
The number of beeps varied, depending on what size of the key USB has been and
the number of files on the USB key, a single beep for many.
If the file was not found, the laptop will restart and try again.

    14. If the file is found then it took about 12 seconds for the laptop to load. No beeps sound not heard during the loading time.

    15. when it is responsible for the laptop has started flashing, indicated by beeps every 2 seconds. It took about 32 seconds.

    16. about 5 seconds after the ringtone had stopped off the laptop computer.
    BIOS worked normally thereafter.

    My last step:

    17. dance of joy! Hehehe these instructions should be on the HP site, since they do not seem to bother to test the updates they push users (here I go again!)

Hope this helps all of us (it will help me when I mess up my BIOS Flash... hehehe)

  • Problem white screen of HP DV4-1242. Tx drivers updated so no startup, is my GPU dead?

I think that my Tx Hp DV4-1242 with 9200GS nVidia GPU THAT just died today. Its been about a year since I bought it. Numlock keys flashing '4' time, lifted the eyes on the site of hp support for Flash/beep codes / absolutely no boot, caps lock (link: http://bit.ly/cwOCdx , discovered, it is a failure of the gpu/controller, experienced overheating issues before, the authorized service center hp claimed they fixed a month ago while I found that overheating snap made not a lot of difference.) Last night I updated my drivers from nvidia's official website (link: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-32bit-257.21-whql-driver.html) and in the morning I think that my gpu dropped on me. Is there something I could do about it?

Guys guess what, my laptop is to life once more. IAM so happy here's what I did.

Ripped open my laptop for her skin, I want to say my motherboard (thank God he gave me a few tense moments), followed the guide to disassembly I found on the net, there was a lot of accumilation of dust on the CPU and gpu, the radiator and the fan. Sprinkled on it, re - apply the thermal paste on the gpu, return all the threads of the screws and parts, booted up my laptop and here it starts without any problem! With the exception of the cmos checksum error, there was no other error message! Thank God it works now Heres the guide apply new thermal paste on the gpu http://bit.ly/bES6qf

Mods, I guess you can close this thread now!

  • HP Pavilion DV4-1125nr cannot start after the update/update BIOS version F.12 to d.55

System: HP Pavilion DV4-1125nr PC Notebook

    Product #: FR922UAR #AB

    The system board ID: 30F7

Version of the BIOS (before the update): F.12

    OS: Windows 7

I tried to update the BIOS to d.55 which was provided by HP. After the successful installation the closure of new windows BIOS correctly. I restart the PC, HP Logo appears and then nothing happens. The operating system do not load or start at all.

I also tried to boot using the Windows 98 Second edition CD (to charge BACK), but it did not work.

    Please help me...

Fortunately I found a Solution to this problem.

Here are the summaries (and modified according to my needs) the steps that I've taken of the following thread:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-hardware/dv4-1140GO-won-t-boot-after-flashing-latest-BIOS/m-p/19698#M2730

    1. go to the hp site and download the correct version of your BIOS. In my case it had to F.12. Why not the latest version? Because there is no guarantee that the last one will work for you, know after measures.

    2. go where you downloaded the file and using 7 - Zip (or tool of your choice of course) unzip the contents to a folder of your choice. We'll get to that later, so keep this file open.

    3. use 128 MB or no matter what key-USB USB key (the smallest, you might find, because they said the smaller the better ) and reformatted to FAT or FAT32 click with the right button on the drive by clicking on "format".

    4. now that my USB is ready, go back to the folder where you extracted the file to update the BIOS (always open to the right of the folder?)

"5. If you have the graphics card Intel integrated like me, copy the ' 30F7F12U. FD"of the key USB and RENAME the file '30F7F12U. FD' at '30F7. BIN ". Remember that this name calling to order "DV4-1125nr. If you have a different motherboard, the system or the BIOS, the name must be determined according to the.

The next steps are exact 0.0 as follows (the link of a full detailed discussion is provided below), I simply numbered:

First I update my pc with the last BIOS (F.66), but did not work for me (operating system not loaded after HP Logo ). So I decided to go back to the old F.12 (the version that has been shipped when the laptop was purchased) according to the procedure described above. But the problem is where to find version F.12 as HP currently provides links only for the version of the BIOS F.66 to d.55 (in the drivers from the hp support site section)

Fortunately, I found a direct link to this version F.12 in the next thread.

    http://Forum.NotebookReview.com/HP-Compaq/304332-C700-CQ40-CQ45-dv4-dv5-DV6-hdx18t-Insyde-BIOS-recovery-using-USB-thumbdrive-2.html

    F.12 version:

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp40501-41000/sp40749.exe

This was F.12 and worked for me. Thank God Almighty I return my PC.
