Hello

You have a few options as I see it.

Go into Device Manager and uninstall the driver and restart and unit automatically installs the driver.

Try to run the system restore to the date where the unit was working fine.

Try to update the driver from hp.com for Audio & Bios site.

I tried all the suggestions like running the Mr. Fixit, System tool and downloaded the file and install from my hard drive - nothing works. I bought my laptop with Vista pre-installed and there is no way for to run me a repair, it seems, unless anyone has any suggestions - it seems that I re - install everything from scratch or perhaps upgrade to Windows 7.

It's the only update that seems to have the problem - as the individual updates through the fine.

Any suggestion or help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't want to try a Win7 update with the computer in its current state.

If your computer came with a set of disks, there is a hidden restore partition (not to be confused with the system restore, please) you would use to reinstall Vista.

    (1) what is the version of Internet Explorer you are using?

This problem can occur for several reasons. You may experience this problem if one or more of the following conditions are met:

    > Internet Explorer settings may be incorrect.

    > Some third party such as antivirus programs, firewall and accelerators Web applications adversely affect the ability of your computer to connect to the Windows Update Web site.

    > Internet Explorer damaged or incompatible settings can prevent you from accessing Windows Update.

You can reset Internet Explorer and see if that can solve the problem.

  • Can't update Vista SP2

I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit, who tried to install SP2 yesterday. The first time I tried installing my antivirus (Bitdefender IS 2009) picked up to (false positives due to the SP2) and quarantined them. I know I should have disabled the anti-virus before installing, so I got to before installation and brought the quarantined files. Now after installation for the second time, when Vista boots, I get a black screen of hanging showing:

    !! 0xc0000034! 7606/76472 (amd64_microsoft-windows-d.. pwindowmanager...)

This error is identical to the first time I tried to install it.

    Hello Mohan

Thank you. I probably didn't explain it very well but I did the restore previously. Restore restores obviously to SP2 before updating then after that I got the error the first time I did a restore, I disabled the antivirus and tried to reinstall SP2, make the same mistake. My question is what should I do before installing SP2, so it succeeds and I do not get the error.

Anyway, I finally managed to install SP2 third time lucky) after action more for no antivirus process were running and returning to the windows firewall. I have disabled all Bitdefender 2009 protection (real-time protection, etc.) parameters General and unchecked "Run Bitdefender at startup. Then after rebooting my machine, I was able to install SP2.

  • "Review updates" Vista sp2 page does not load.

My computer has windows Vista Home Premium sp2 32 x and updates are checked for every day. There are 2 updates important and 2 Optional updates listed at this time. When I try to "review updates" category either important or optional page does not load. It is a problem for several months now. I wonder what are these updates and why I am not able to view them. I am the administrator and the only user of this computer. It's not part of a corporation, company or home network...

    Hello

I suggest that you follow these steps and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

I would temporarily disable all security software and check if the problem persists.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.  In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Step 2:

Test the issue in a clean boot State.

Note: Follow step 7 to your computer as usual.

  • Adobe 10 will not update, Vista SP2

Adobe 10 will not work. I spent days going through the recommendations to support. I did all the patches more than once. I've started and restarted. I checked and rechecked the settings. I disabled protection programs. I did manual downloads. I uninstalled and reinstalled. The update will not work. It seems to install okay, that displays as if everything did install OK, but I don't see "Adobe page" version not display; nor can I view independent web videos (vids play fine to an e-mail using Windows Media Player link).

Hey find that vnc dot com (without the dot) and remove it first, then files. If these are system files as you say, so if you are still working with MS, tell them about this. They can access your pc and take care of her. If this isn't the case, then I will do the research on this. At least when MS connects, they log off :-) Yes, it could be the cause of your questions/Windows blue screen. I see no reason to keep anything on your computer that you don't need or use.

These ads are quite normal spamming. I pointed out also, so tomorrow this post probably won't be there :-)

I don't want to rest, but to plan downloading some programs from my laptop first and relax!

Oh, this idea of vnc to my family and friends, hmmmm, maybe.

  • 800736B 2 of error Code woes. Windows Update (Vista SP2) fails to install a bunch of updates

I know that this problem was posted a lot everywhere on the internet (even here), but I would like to explain a little better than everyone else and maybe I can somehow get to the bottom of this.

    The problem:

I am trying to update my acer 4/5 years, grandfathers aspire running Windows Vista. Whenever I try to install the following updates:

    http://i.imgur.com/SBxv8.jpg

I get 6 updates installation failed with error code 800736B 2. When I turn the computer off, he pretended to go through the process of 'completion' facilities update 6 (you know what I mean, it says after that windows has disconnected the user is installing updates). It takes about 15 minutes, then when I re - turn on the computer and check the updates again the exact same updates are always listed.

    The attempts of a solution:

I downloaded and used the update tool for Windows Vista (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821) system. It shows the exact symptoms of the same as the rest of the updates. It "installs" (which lasts about an hour. Said it was successful. Then I restart the computer, it 'full' Update 1 on 1 which have been installed, when I opened the tool (after reboot), it says that I have to reinstall the same update (KB947821). So obviously it cannot be installed but for some reason any thought that he didn't.

I also tried to run this tool in safe mode and had an error that says that I can't run it in safe mode. Sweet.

I wanted to download the updates manually (I was hoping that they would be in the form of some .exe or something) then run their safe mode, since you can't use windows update in safe mode. I looked around online a lot, but could not find a way to download the updates manually. I found a bunch of guides tell me how to do, but non of them work. My guess is that they removed the support for it.

If anyone has any ideas as to what I can do without having to reinstall windows it would be awesome. My grandfather is really exhausted all of this current vista installation so wipe everying is probably a bad idea. I would like to avoid it at all costs.

    Hello

You can try the steps in this KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883825 for a similar error, but others indicated that they were able to solve this problem by using the KB.

  • What should be the file size of Vista SP2 through Windows Update If SP1 is already installed?

    Hello

Please could someone clarify this? I read on a few messages that if Vista SP1 is already installed then the Vista SP2 update file size should be around 40-50 MB.

I checked manually through Windows Update > check for updates. He finds updated Vista SP2, but the file size is of approximately of 340-350 MB.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335036.aspx

Indicates that there should be ~ 43meg for 32-bit and ~ 60meg for 64 bit.

It can be substantially larger depending on how many updates between SP1 and SP2 are not already installed. Microsoft partner

  • Try to install on Vista SP2 KB915597, getting error code 80070670

    Hello

I tried to update Vista SP2 (with Ko 915597 - an update for the Defender) however it returns an error code of 80070670. What happened two or three times last week. Every time the patch installed ok afterwards. However, it is of course a problem somewhere, but where? I tried to search on the code of error on the net + of this Web site, but nothing helped.

In addition, Windows stops also recognize my Creative Zen MP3 player. In Device Manager, it appears as an MTP device with a yellow exclamation point and a "this device cannot start (Code 10)". I've especially tried to Fix It, but this requires Windows PowerShell (928439 KB) must be installed and it also settled with a 80070005 error code.

Sorry if the last piece of info belongs to another forum, but I believe that the problems are related (the same?).

Hope someone can help, as I'm getting a little frustrated.

    Thank you and best regards
    Martin

Original title: error code 80070670 (under Vista SP2)

    Hi Robear,
I disabled Defender because the 3rd party software that I use was recommended to me as being superior to the Defender. But maybe this recommendation is outdated? I disabled Defender during my first installation of Vista, and 'yes' I have updated Defender on the first day without problems so far.

By the way my system has just updated this morning without any problems with three updates for Vista and one for the office.

Thank you for your efforts to help me beat this problem,
    Martin

  • Update Vista 64 Bit SP 2 remove icons from the taskbar for the power and sound.

When I installed the update to Vista SP2, my power and Volume icons disappeared from the taskbar. When I went to set the display for the Menu Taskbar properties, the option to do so is grayed out.  Go to the control panel to change the power options, it's annoying, but I can live with that because I do not often change. But having to go through the control panel to adjust the volume is a container of the slow cooker. How to view again?

    Hi old giza,.

Thank you for using answers Forum.

I suggest you to re - install the driver for your sound card, this should restore function.

You can also consult the Web site of the manufacturer for an updated Vista driver.

I can't hear any sound in my headset when I plug in my laptop which has Vista SP2 installed. While my speakers work well, I cannot hear any sound in my headphones every time that I plug them in. And whenever I take off the helmet, I can hear clearly. However the same headphones work with another machine perfectly. Vista service pack 2 and the loss of its

    Windows vista 32 bit
I installed vista service pack 2 update and lost sound, I restored my computer to service pack 2 and sound istalling pre was there. I have re-installed now update sevice pack 2 and its missing again. It's the same with service pack 1 and I had to restore my computer to factory settings to retrieve the sound. I really don't want to have to do it again.
I tried the microsoft fix that says everything is fine. I've done all the things suggested on troubleshooting audio from vista - still no sound. My internet explore keeps reloading when I don't have service pack 2 installed.
What can I do to fix this?

Like Nettie63, after SP2 has been installed, my sound on the left and the utility 'fix it' said everything of fine.  I tried the fix above with the research of STacSV64.exe that by pasting into the search bar.  However, he said that there was no file so I couldn't just double-click on it.

What do you recommend?   Thank you very much.

  • Tecra M9-136 - BSOD during Vista SP2 update

Tecra M9-136 asked this morning to upgrade to the Vista SP2 and in the process the BSOD 0x0000007E arrived. Restarted in Mode safe and continuous Setup and then finally reported that the update failed - and came back to SP1. It took most of the morning.

It will start in Safe Mode, but on a start normal, Vista SP1 gets through fingerprint recognition and then fails with the same BSOD (there is regarding the display of the desktop).

The laptop has BIOS 1.80 level. I tried in safe mode to install 1.90 but he told me that the battery has insufficient charge and the AC adapter is not attached. Both wrong.

Stuck - need advice. Could this be a hard failure? Can't see how I can update whatever it is if it's a soft fault.
    Thank you

Have you tried to make back the OS to an earlier time before the SP2 installation started?
You can do it in safe mode.
