Update 7.0.1: unable to print from any Web site now. Corrective action?

Nothing else in the system has been changed. Previous editions of Firefox perfectly printed on a Samsung laser printer. Now the computer attempts to save the file to print and get a display "unknown error occurred in printing".
I can get a print from a website if I using Internet Explorer. However, I would like to continue using Firefox as I prefer by far its display and the best speed

This seems to be a problem with margins in the page layout. Open the file > page setup and set the upper and lower at 0.5 margins (inches or what is appropriate region). I then restarted firefox and presto chango, it works.

2 updates ago I can't print from some Web sites, for example, print a coupon after an investigation, save... all places, check I used to be able to print from. Have Win7, HP PC and printer. Talked with HP, this problem with Firefox support as IE prints from these fine sites. Help, please!

Sorry, I don't know how or why an obsolete add-on would be installed on a new PC, probably related to the installation of the printer of HP on the new PC software. I doubt if she was transferred with Firefox data files, as the SWP HP add-on is not installed directly in Firefox - is installed when the Firefox profile is all first run after installing the HP software and Firefox see a 'new add-on"in the registry, it would be rejected by Firefox due to the lack of compatibility of version number. My guess is that the whole profile has been copied to the new PC to an existing installation of Firefox that already had this Add on SWP installed and not only the data files of Firefox.

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/

Help Mozilla make sure your favorite add-ons get updated for upcoming Firefox releases by using this extension to report whether they still work or are having some issues with alpha and beta releases. Note: Recommended for alpha and beta users only!

The add-on Compatibility Reporter is intended to allow technically incompatible (internal version number is too low for the used version of Firefox on) modules so that the user can see if the add-on is or is not compatible and then report on the status at Mozilla. It does not solve an addition really incompatible or broken, it is the developer of each add-on to make the Fixin's. Yes, it is useful, when used as intended and not in anticipation of it being a 'magic wand' or an elixir. There is no "panacea" for the compatibility of modules.

But that will change with Firefox 10, who will assume that add-ons for Firefox 4.0 or more are "compatible" with 10 Firefox and not turn off these modules as does now because of the "apparent incompatibility" based on version numbers. On the surface, it seems like a good idea, but once users begin having problems with Firefox Add-ons that have previously been disabled (due to mismatch of version number) - it's going to be trying to figure what add-on, each user is at the origin of the problems - in many more we see now. I am a pessimist by nature, that's my prediction of what we could do with 10 Firefox and the 'assumption that all modules are really compatible'.

  • Unable to print from the web?

I can print my documents, but you cannot print from the web.

Not sure if this has anything to do with a recent update on my pc on the Bluetooth... but other than that have had the printer for a while and no problem at all.

So totally flumixed.  I made the print and scan that says everything is fine and prints a page of test without any problem.  But if I go on the web and try to print anything, it will not work.

I have windows 7 and use chrome for web

    Any suggestions? Thank you

Thank you very much for this information.

Yes, if you can print from Internet Explorer, but not Google Chrome, there is an issue with Chrome. You can try to uninstall Google Chrome on your computer. Please follow this document here.

Now you can install Google Chrome on your computer by following this document here.  When you print a Web page, press Ctrl + P on your keyboard. You will be able to get an overview of the page, set printer and base page settings prior to printing. Please follow this document here to help you. Make sure that the destination is set to your printer (4500 envy). If this is not the case, and then click Modify.

Nothing is printing from Firefox. And since it is my browser FAVORITE, it's boring. I have the latest Java, reinstalled my drivers (uninstall and install fees). It works with Internet Explorer. I have to use Internet explorer to print from the Internet... Can you help me to not use IE anymore?

    Thanks anyway

  • Unable to print from the web... allows to print from notepad or wordpad since

Well Firefox using more than a year with a Lexmark printer. Switched to an Epson printer yesterday and used the Epson install disk by following the instructions. Tried to print 2 different elements of the internet tonight and got a msg that the printer cannot communicate with the PC. Called Epson which had me a test print om Notepad and print it out. Print very well. Epson said it isn't a problem with the printer, but rather a conflict with Internet Explorer (which I use is any more). Can advise you. The Epson has by default in my control panel and I unplugged then replugged my USB cable, the printer power cable and restarted my PC.

Bob please remove your E-mail address, we spam bots that cruse forums, looking for things like that. Also what starts here ends here, if others have this issue and the answer is not here that it is not very useful.

     Removing printer:

Disconnect the printer from your computer. Click 'Start' and open "devices and printers". Here, you will find your printer. Right-click on the icon and tell "remove hardware".
When the printer is removed, restart Windows and make sure that the printer is not available.
At this point, plug the printer back in and turn it on Win7 must track a driver to make it work. Remember that the word 'works' Win7 found a driver and installed, it does not mean that it is the biggest driver.

Epson is one of the original designers of printers I would be shocked if they did not have the driver you need right on the Web. That being said, that is where Win7 would receive the driver. BUT Win7 is going to pull from a pool of drivers based on what they get back from pinging your printer, they will pull what is said to work by the printer builder, it would be up to the printer builder to keep the pool up to date.

So once you are up and running you may want to go to Epson and search that out. The proper Epson driver may give you options Win7 won't know about.

  • OfficeJet Pro L7555: Cannot print from a web site, print Word document

Has been able to print from the internet.   Update driver on the HP support site.   More am able to print from web site.   To print the document Word, MS Works, free Office very well.   My operating system is Windows 7 32-bit home, browser is Firefox.   The system is wired nine two weeks old Asus desktop computer.   The computer initially recgonized the printer and would print from the internet, but not after the updated driver.   When the print window opens, it is immediately covered by another window that says "a printing error has occurred" and it takes me to the screen of Win 7 document library.   The model number as the best I can say is CB821A.

MusicMan, I thank you for your prompt attention to my problem.  I ran the HP print and scan doctor.  The program stopped in the process and told me my software was outdated, but when I tried to install it, the program canceled and so he told me that he was unable to install the software update I jumped the upgrade and continued with the scan doctor who told me there was nothing wrong with the printer.  I tried to print from the internet but no go. Then I opened Internet Explorer and has been able to print from the internet, but the text was not very dark.  It seems that you are correct and the problem is in Firefox.  OK, what to do next?  I guess that there is a setting in Firefox I can change.  Looked in the options, but do not see anything that looked like, it was the.

When printing a web site of the printer will print that a5 all other prints are normal a4 as required. This problem started last week or so, before the required such A4 printer.

Hi @macleod I guess that your not be able to print any other size A5 1 particular web page has something to do with this page and not the HP printer. That being said, I salute you on the Forums of HP, and and happy to make some suggestions that may help you!

I'm not sure this will help, as the issue seems to isolate a particular page, but there is no harm in trying.

What happens if you choose Print to file and then open the file and print from there, instead of from the Web page. I'm not suggesting this as a solution; I suggest this simply for diagnostic purposes.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro installation caused a failure of any download from any Web site.

When I click on a pdf file, including all of the help files on the Adobe site, I get a view of the file for a fraction of a second and then it is replaced by a gray screen saying "Acrobat Plugin crashed" and offering the ability to send a report. I sent many reports, without success. For example, I watched a few times of train and got only the enticing glimpse of the pdf until it was replaced by the gray screen. The system was much earlier, when I had only Acrobat Reader.  How can I put this right?

Really don't know what could be the problem. However, it could be fixed if you update Acrobat. If you have installed Acrobat recently, it may be the version 9.0, rather than the current 9.5.1. You can make updates in the Help menu in Acrobat.

  • I can't click on links from any Web site if it is at the top of the browser window, all other links I can click on. Any suggestions? Already uninstalled and reinstalled.

All the links at the top of web pages, that I can not click, the same side scroll bar does not move up to what down a quarter of the page. I don't have this problem with IE.

The extension of the Yahoo! toolbar and the extension of Babylon have been reported because of this problem. Disable or uninstall the modules.

  • computer freeze when you try to watch a video stream (only) from any Web site

When I try to watch streaming video, my computer freezes, the screen goes black. It will start to play the video to say about... maybe 30 seconds. The computer screen will sweep for a fraction of a second and that's it. It crashes, the screen goes black, it makes that sound you get when the computer crashes. So I have to do a hard reboot to take control of the computer again. I've only had this computer for about 120 days, did not buy good warranty for the software and now I'm stuck.

  • How to set printing preferences? all my pages are printed in miniature when I use Firefox, and try to print from a Web page.

I can't print from any Web page, including my hotmail account, without printing the page to about 20% of the normal size. If I use Explorer, I have no problem with printing.

{Ctrl + P} in Firefox and open the properties of this printer - check the paper size setting.

    See this:

    http://KB.mozillazine.org/Problems_printing_web_pages

If the paper size is correct, do the Reset described in this support article.

  • Suddenly, I'm a problem for any Web site. It prints tiny portions of the Web site on several pages. It is a new problem.

He is a recent problem, when printing from a Web site in Firefox (only on my desktop with Windows 7 Machine not my laptop using the same printers) the problem is independent of the printer that I use. There is a small amount of information on each page spread over several pages. There is no problem at all when printing my regular programs only from a site of Fire Fox. This is not the case when printing from Microsoft Internet Explorer.
