Update caused HP DV6 to lose sleep and hibernation of the functions

My almost new DV6 comes from losing the ability to sleep or Hibernate.

This occurred only after an update online systematic HP and I cured the problem by restoring my system to the last restore point before the update from HP.

The symptoms of the error was that the computer will turn off if left unattended, would otherwise freeze when the cover is closed, who need support for 5 seconds the start button to thaw it (i.e. turn off!)

I know that this problem was caused by an update of HP as settled the problem of restoring the system.

How can I make sure that HP do not for me even once?

Is there a way I can report to HP?

I suspect that you have installed HP Support Assistant. To avoid this situation, you can uninstall this software or change the deafult settings. How do you change them?

Use HP Support Assistant and choose " settings ".

Change ' check and install all updates (recommended) automatiquement.*. '

to ' do not check updates. ' or " Check but let me decide who once to install.* " and confirm your choice by clicking " OK ".

  • How to replace a bad IDE disk with a USB Flash drive system - and have all the functionality of XP Pro SP3

How to replace a bad IDE disk with a USB Flash drive system - and have all the functionality of XP Pro SP3
Given a PC without hard disk...
How can you use a flash drive instead?
So, indeed, the USB key works as an SSD...
I saw online options that gives partial functionality of the system... and an option that is more than $100 (more than the system's worth)...
None of these options are acceptable in the circumstances.
It is an effort to create a machine for a particular use, built from a recycled pc for which hard drive was removed and destroyed by the original owner...
The criterion is that it must work just like it was a mechanical drive running xp pro sp3 with all updates, etc...
    Thanks for any help.

You can not install XP on a Flash as his unsupported drive. Your only two options are a traditional hard drive or Solid State Drive (SSD).

    Hello

Since when did you notice this problem?
This issue was present after the installation of the system clean?

What is the BIOS? Is up to date?
I read in a few discussions setting the BIOS update can help with these similar problems.
So the update of the BIOS is definitely worth a try.

Also update the display driver would be recommended. Of course just in case you do not use the latest version.

  • Windows Vista update causes applications non - IE to be denied access to the internet

I have a laptop Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 unfortunately comes with a Windows Vista Home Premium OS that has caused me a lot of problems with conflicts between her and others, package applications, and now I am forced to use my network at home for route information and documents that must move through the internet by sharing them with another computer Windows XP which is also configured exactly as my Lenovo IdeaPad Y510. I look forward to wean myself off of all MS products, possibly other that MS Office, I use a lot and plays always well for me to wire many years and updates/upgrades. Not the same for MS Windows Vista, however. My experience, similar to many other forum users, has been constantly frustrating over the years I've had to deal with it.  I lost a lot of time dealing with problems caused by code errors in the last set of MS Windows Vista updates that made all my package applications that require internet access unusable.

I contacted the support of Lenovo and support forums for my problem, and they too cannot provide all the answers that address this issue that is causing me to spend much too much time I could use to work at a rate of $65 / hr, so you can see that this is not only an inconvenience.

Before someone points me to the myriad other similar positions for possible answers, let me say that I probably have alread read it and tried all the suggested actions, without success. I need to REAL answers and REAL support, and I need it NOW.  Also, I don't think I should have to pay for the support which has been made necessary by the negligence of MS to test their updates for compatibility issues with the popular, free package critical applications for the safety of MS OS system of a user, such as AVG Free antivirus, ZoneAlarm Free firewall personal , OR who are competitors for their navigation on the web or by email client applications. I am not now under the other another firewall that MS Vista firewall having had to uninstall my firewall ZoneAlarm Free. I even had one of my other previously compatible and effective anti-malware/spyware apps, AdAware, uninstall Lavasoft. No matter what I did, which was suggested to me by MS resources support or Lenovo support resources, this problem, which began shortly after the last round of all the months of downloads to fix security and facilities, persists and cost me more money in revenue and lost time every day.

  • LWAPP lose names and appearing as the default MAC address

I had random LWAPP that were configured previously appearing as the original names as if they were just installed (APxxx:xxxx:xxxx). I know because the location field is the location of where they are, and the name of the AP group is also set to the location they are. What would cause this?

    WLC = 7.0.98.0

    AP = 1142n 12.4 (23 c) JA

This problem is there... it happens about 5 percent of my overall AP

    Just my $.02

If your access point keeps its AP group settings and location, it does not lose its configuration...

Have you tried to restart an AP that indicates the Mac address format and see if she takes up with the correct name?

I bet that happens with the correct name...

If Yes, my money is on your APs are passing the WLC and join before the WLC has allowed the previous entry.

It makes sense on the WLC to temporarily restore a name APs if two APs join with the same name (since you can't have two APs of the same name).

I may be wrong, it can permeanently reset name, but I bet that this has to do with your AP declining and join too quickly...

Computer HP laptop amd with 512 MB ram (xp and all updates have been installed on this about 3 weeks ago) xp home sp3

Reference Dell newish Office 512 MB of ram probably double heart pentium xp pro

I deleted the content of the downloads in the software distribution folder, but no difference

delete datastore.ebd (it was 170 MB), pc was going well for about 5 minutes, but then the same question returns (new datastore.ebd has 70 MB in size) pc is bearly usable, so disabling the automatic updates until I get a response from you
