To resolve this problem, run the tool (Checksur.exe) system update. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Download and run the system update tool. This tool runs an ad hoc analysis of inconsistencies that might prevent future maintenance operations. For more information about how to download and run the Checksur.exe tool, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 947821    (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821/)Description of the update readiness tool for Windows Vista system
  2. Try to install updates again.

Note After you run the tool, the Checksur.log file is located in the following location:

%SystemRoot%\Logs\CBS\

In a default installation of Windows Vista, this file is located in the following folder:

C:\Windows\Logs\CBS

    Hi Brandi,.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community forums.

    Are what Fixit you referring?

This problem may occur if the Windows security .dll files are incorrectly registered.

    Method 1:
I suggest you try the procedure described in the article and see if it helps.

Error 0x800B0100 when you try to install updates for Windows or Microsoft Updates
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/956702

    Method 2:
If the first method does not resolve the problem, you can try to perform the clean boot, and then try to install the update manually.

Step 1: Perform the clean boot:
By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow the "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" section in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

    Step 2:
Manually install the update from Microsoft Download Center.

    Hello

Basically, you have a firewall blocking updates. Stop or uninstall Norton, using their removal tool and
    Try updates.

Download - Save - go to where you put it - right click on – run as administrator

If you have tried the above and it does not solve your problem, you can try CD because it costs very little.

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/bb738089

This page will display the SP1 of Vista, under the heading: order a DVD of Windows Vista SP1, click on your region and then select your country and will take you to a page where you can buy the SP1 and SP2

Save the link and it's also for others to read this post wishing to purchase Service Packs for Vista as long download time saved and you can use them download are a problem or you reinstall your operating system.

If you later reinstall OS and you install the drivers manually install the Service Packs right after OS reinstalled before installing any drivers. You can first install the drivers but it is better Service Packs first as sometimes when you install a Service Pack after the drivers, you can find some drivers do not work and you have to reinstall these drivers.

For people using the original image, your drivers are already installed then install Service Packs just after the factory restore before installing applications or devices or download Windows updates.

Service Packs using immediately also save hundreds of download of the updates of Windows first of all that all updates to the top until the release of Service Packs are included.

  • Update error 800b0100 code

I get an error code when you try to update windows 7.  Need a fix... and now!

    Hi, Gordon

Step 1: Download this update directly from the Download Center manually but temporarily do not install it.

Please choose the correct version and download the update KB905866 on your local drive but temporarily do not install, try step 2:

Step 2: Connect to the computer in Mode safe.

Restart the computer. Continue to press the F8 key until the Windows Startup menu appears. Select Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.

After the safe boot mode, locate the downloaded installer file and install manually one by one.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows 7 Professional - update error 800b0100 code""WindowsUpdate_dt000"

    Hello

I'm not remotely "Tecchie", so please treat me gently!

The above error that happens on a recently purchased HP notebook Probook - more other updates of Windows from loading successfully. (NB the build is W8.1 demoted to W7 Professional with SP1). I tried Fixit MS btw!

I first put the question HP who referred me then to MS for support. A level support guy (Rodrigo) em ran scan/check remote diagnostics which show the system 100%. However, after recharge etc., the update that always precedes not with the same error message. Apparently, this is a known problem, so I was reluctant to pay any subscription to upgrade support 2/top of range and has been achieved here as alternative source of guidance for help.

I hope someone has the answer! Thank you in anticipation
