Update for Windows Vista (KB977165) _ security
This security update is offered after it has been installed permanently...
I have Comcast as an ISP and use Norton which is offered by comcast for protection.
I used MacAffee that gave comcast and never had this problem.
I ran Fixit application and my laptop is compatiable with this update.
I checked history updated and it shows the update successfully, but when I check the installed updates there no updated figure...
Any ideas?

Update for Windows Vista (KB2653956) 80070020 security
I tried a safe mode start as directed but you can open Windows Update in safe mode. Internet is on while trying. I followed a clean reboot, but the update has failed once again. I've even tried disabling of anti-virus and firewall settings. I'd like to find which program is preventing this update of loading? Thanks for any help.
Hello
You are able to correctly install other updates to windows?
Method 1:
If you are able to start your computer in safe mode, I also suggest you perform the clean boot and check.
Place the computer in a clean boot state, then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
To set up the computer in a clean boot, follow the steps in the link: How to perform a clean boot
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After checking in the clean boot, follow step: 7 article to reset your computer to normal startup.

update of security (KB2676562) has already been correctly installed 21 times, began towards the end of May. Update for Windows Vista (KB2679255) was successfully installed 35 times, he began in mid-April. These two continue to update themselves every day and do it at least twice a day, back to back. It is very frustrating to have to deal with that and makes me think that something may be a problem with my computer. I had heard of registry cleaners is not not a good thing to use, if recently I not unhooked my registry free cleaner. I hope that it has not caused my computer to lose any registry key values. Does anyone know a possible solution or what I need to do? I thank everybody help, please!
