Update KB2416473 many causes of problems

After installing .NET 3.5 updated KB2416473 on my Vista Home Pro, I have a lot of problems:

  • Windows Media Center does not display TV program and does not update.
  • The event log viewer cannot start with the error message could not initialize a snap
  • (Computerverwaltung in German) computer management fails to start with the error message that he couldn't start a snap.
  • The sceduler of employment in the control panel may not start with an error message about problems with a snap.
  • All tasks in the background of all of the programs are obviously not performed more.

With the help of a fresh new install of Windows and repeat all updates installed, the problem repeated. I discovered that exactly KB2416473 causes this problem. The problem goes away, when I restore the update.

Hi StefanFrings,

It seems that net Framework is damaged or does not properly.

You can use the tool-.NET Framework Cleanup to remove all versions of the .NET Framework is installed. For more information, follow this link.

When you try to install an update for .NET Framework 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 or 3.5, you may receive Windows Update '0 x 643' error code or error code Windows install "1603".

(b) subsequently, you can follow the link above to reinstall .NET Framework on your computer and check if the problem persists.

Hope the helps of information.

Please post back and we do know.

  • Updating the BIOS causing system problem...

    Hello

    I recently had a very bad experience with my hp pavilion g 1201 tx. I though that I should share it with everyone.

    The problem started with an update of the Bios that was available with the help of HP support. He showed me there is an update available for my laptop BIOS (I was happy ) on this subject and has allowed the update run. After the update, that my heart stopped beating (even if it wasn't a heart attack) my laptop stopped functioning, it crashes after 3-4 minutes.

    After 5 days of research and hundreds of tips, I came to the conclusion that the update of the BIOS could go wrong. The update of the BIOS version was F.52 (-supports the nVidia GeForce GT 520 M graphics controller card). But my laptop has a Radeon graphics card.

    I downloaded the version of BIOS F.41 (supports 7450 AMD Radeon graphics M controller) of the previous version on the software's Web site and download drivers. It took about 30 minutes to install (the screen freezes) I gave up and hand over power.

    Put my fingers crossed I switched it on and Hooray! his work, my laptop does not freeze now...

    A suggestion to the team of hp. Please check the software before making it available to the public (updates should be available for the right products).

    I can see the version of BIOS F.52 software on my laptop still available for Pavilion g 1201 tx on your Internet site and through hp support assistance.

    If my interpretation is wrong on both versions, please correct me.

    Thank you

    When they say "adds" support for... It simply means that it is added to this graphics card, but they don't remove it to earlier maps. Don't know what went wrong with F52 install.

    Never update a bios unless it's to solve a problem that cannot be resolved otherwise. F52 update was not necessary for your model. It's the only thing I don't like about HP Support Assistant.

    The reason why they add support for things is HP hardware changes on new laptops from the same series model and have to add support for it in the bios, they do not want to break support for older hardware, but sometimes they do.

  • Before Muse files updated now causing a problem of text in Safari. This isn't because of Safari.

    Last update of Muse obstructed to the top of my text in Safari. I went to a file of the previous version of Muse for a correction of small verbiage for a customer. When I downloaded the site I noticed that all my CSS text seems anorexic in Safari. This text was always well in Safari before Muse was last updated. This does not effect on Google Chrome, Internet Explorer or Firefox. I created a new file of Muse and placed the same text inside and download that as well. This is seen in Safari very well. So before the update they saw very well and all the files created after the update considers him as well. Apparently the update of Muse caused a problem to my files that were created in the previous version. I tried to delete the old text box and add a new, but the text is still not displaying right in Safari. Can someone shed some light on how to solve this problem without having to rebuild my entirely new site from scratch?

    I created 3 sites in Muse before the last update, and now I'm afraid that if I do the update of these files as they are, in turn, look like crap in Safari. This is a pretty big problem counts that I'm on retainer with these companies. It's only a matter of time before they need updates. Start on all these sites from scratch would be a potential deal breaker in my relationship with Muse.

    Help, please...

    Interesting. There seems to be something on the specific code generated for your site that has exposed a bug introduced by Apple with the latest version of Safari.

    Muse does not explicitly set the property - webkit - font smoothing. The default value for the property is "subpixel-aliasees", so it must be what is used and is in fact what is used by earlier versions of current Chrome and Safari (both browsers based on Webkit). It is also what is used when a simple layout is created in the Muse and tested in the latest Safari. There is something unique to your site that is triggering the last Safari to use "embattled" as font smoothing setting, and even more strange is the fact, that he appears to do this part of the text.

    We will do further investigation and probably end up writing a bug to Apple. It would be helpful if you could send us your file .muse (as well as a link to this topic for context) at [email protected]. If the file is larger than 20 MB, you can send it in using a service like Dropbox, Adobe SendNow, WeTransfer, etc..

    In the meantime, it seems that you can avoid this Safari bug by pasting the code below into the HTML code "for"."field in the Panel of 'Metadata' the Properties dialog box of the Page for each of your master pages. This forces the browsers based on Webkit to use text of crenellated subpixel rendering.

    Thank you for making us aware of this browser bug.

    Hi Snoopy65,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    Perform a system restore and then try to install each updates manually one by one. Each time that you install the update, restart the computer. Take note of the update that is causing the problem and let us know. We will be in a better place to help you if we know the exact update which is causing the problem.

    To run the system restore

    1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.

    If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    2. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next

    3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next

    4. click on finish

    Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

  • Vista, update 4.9.218.0 (3140527 KB) for Security Essentials caused a problem starting black screen.

    Discovered this cause after several days using the Safe Mode and system restore to get the job of the computer. I couldn't uninstall it so I reinstalled a new version of Security Essentials, and this seems to have cured the problem.

    But this bad patch has "successfully" installed on my computer several times

    over several days last week and is always sent by Microsoft for installation.

    What is going on? Security Essentials will be polluted by him again?

    Hello cragusbe, you need to hide the update. It caused the same problem for many MSE Windows Vista users, maybe even all of them: http://www.vistax64.com/windows-updates/304379-update-microsoft-security-essentials-4-9-218-0-kb3140527.html

    My computer works horribly since the update. Is there a way to reverse the updates, or should I use a fixed disc and just pray that I don't have reinstall?

    Hello

    Method 1: I suggest you to restore the computer to a point in the update got installed then install the update one at a time to determine the cause of the problem is updated:

    System Restore: frequently asked questions

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/system-restore-frequently-asked-questions

    Method 2: You can try to install the updates to the clean boot in order to verify if any third-party application is causing the problem:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

    Note: after a repair, be sure to configure the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

    Method 3: Try a manual install of update by downloading the update from the Microsoft Download Center:

  • Windows Update Causes startup problem

    I have an interesting problem with Windows Update (or apparently is from Windows Update). I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit, if that info is needed. There are two updates I have not install, as I am not sure that is the cause. The updates in question are Internet Explorer 8 and Windows Defender definitions 1.63.604.0. Here's what's happening.

    When you restart after Windows updates, the computer starts with a black screen with a mouse pointer. That's all. Happened every time I tried to start after the pdates. I can reboot into SafeMode very well, is apparently a problem driver or update.

    I also installed DivX on the computer, but it seemed to work as I could watch .avi via WMP thereafter, so I excluded. I thought that if there was a problem with it, it would not have worked in the first place, but I thought it was interesting.

    In any case, the only solution I found doing a system restore and do not install updates day or DivX, since technically I don't know which is the cause. I had to restore the system 3 times already and I didn't continue to do because this computer was very expensive and I don't want to ruin the hardware or something.

    Someone knows something about an error with updates, or perhaps with DivX that may have caused this. The computer works fine without the updates or DivX, I just want to know what could be the real problem so if it is only one of the 3, I can install the other two at least.

    Change your update settings, install the updates one at a time, hide the problem:

    Click Start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
    > or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it
    See you soon.
  • WIn Vista for 13/12/11 updates cause startup problem
    Hello
    There was some 16 published "Windows Updates" yesterday.   After applying my Vista system would not restart until they have been regularized.
    I don't know which one caused the problem.   I guess I could let the updates from the Office product be applied again to try to limit the update at the origin of the problem.
    But do you know what is wrong?
    Larry
    Hi LarryMcMahon,
    Download the latest driver chipset directly from the manufacturer. If Windows was preinstalled on your computer, you can find the driver on the website of the manufacturer of the computer.
    Hi JevenStulie,
    1. are you able to boot into normal mode after receiving these error messages?
    You can try these steps and see if it helps.
    Step 1:
    You can check if the problem occurs in safe mode with network.
    Start your computer in safe mode
    Startup options (including safe mode)
    Step 2:
    If you do not experience the problem in safe mode with network, then you can read the following article to download the Microsoft Safety Scanner and analysis complete on your computer.
    Microsoft safety scanner
    Note: When you perform the analysis, there are chances of losing the data that you can take a backup of important data before performing analysis.
