I had some problems with my SR5505F, I run Memtest + 86 on a barrette of RAM (2x2gb) both, but first wanted to check/upgrade the BIOS in case that was the problem, problem is, I upgraded the OS from Vista to Windows 7, and the BIOS for this model only offer the choice for Vista 32 and Vista 64 What should I do, my last update of the BIOS shows 2008.   Yes, I wouldn't risk.

  You can always make a system image to install W7 using W7 backup tool, reinstall Vista, Flash the BIOS and reinstall W7 from your image backup. You will need to do a W7 boot CD or use your installation disk of W7 and instead of the installation option, select repair your computer option at the bottom left of the installation screen.  Then select restore from an image system or what is the closest that verbage thing.

  My question is if I should install these updates (especially the one important) or if they are not approved by Toshiba yet?

  Hi moritz. If you n t had problems with the sound or lan, such a day isn't necessary.
  I assume that the driver updates were released and published by the developer of pilots but are not certified by Toshiba. So I would update only the system without touching the drivers.

  You can create a USB bootable for a downloadable iso file from Microsoft Setup disk. However, you will probably be satisfied with performance of slow your system on Win7 or Win10.

  There is nothing indicating 'Boot from cd' in the bios. You will need to arrange the priority of disc to create your CD / DVD Drive as the first boot device.

  Leave the Windows XP cd in the drive and restart your computer. It will then display you the option «press any key to boot from CD...» ", and then you must press a key or the Enter key.

I messed up my install Vista, so I deleted it and began around and after much trial & error, I got Windows 7 on my HD and a partition configured for Vista but I'm afraid when I install it I would lose the Windows 7 install because the discs I have are for recovery and said this would erase and reformat the HD to make new factory. Did I lose the partition?

  If Windows 7 RC1 is installed, it will disappear after using the recovery discs.  I recommend you

  installing a second hard drive and install Windows 7 RC1 on it.
