Update Windows 7 search forever

Hello world

I installed a version of win 7 32 bit on a laptop and I tried to run the updates, but as soon as I search for them, stuck a bit in the research process...

So I tried the Microsoft Fix - it thing to solve the problems of updating and it did not help.

Please help me, I don't know why this keeps happening even if I reinstall win 7 completely

It will take a lot of time to search, but running another program like cleaning disc or malwarebytes seems to hurry. Weird, but it worked for some.

    Hi all

Last week did a cleaning installation (windows 7) on my old laptop.

(the material is not good enough for an update for windows 10)

At the beginning everything was fine and some updates have been installed.

However, after the installation of "Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x 64 systems (KB976932)" the trial was kept updated search forever and the laptop became also very slow.

While windows searches for updates, the process "svchost.exe" develops very quickly in the memory usage and fills after a few minutes the total RAM.

I tried various corrections (see for example the you link below), but none of the solutions worked for me: (.)

    Thanks in advance!

original title: verification of updates of Windows 7 stuck forever - I know, that's the answer, but solutions do not work for me. Please find out!

I installed a Windows 7 OS play on my laptop. Is not an upgrade, it is a blank hard drive. WIndows 7 installed perfectly, picked up all my drivers. The only problem is that I have problems with the updates of Windows 7. When I select Windows 7 update, it says 'Check updates' and stays like that - forever. Even the next day. I did heavy heavy research, discovered others face the same problem. I tried all the fixes I could find, which are listed below:

    1. the anti-virus installed again - new installation of Windows 7 programs
    2. There is no spy software - it's a whole new clean install
    3. firewall off
    4. temporary files, cookies, deleted history
    5. service set to automatic in services.msc background intelligent transfer
    6 software distribution folder renamed
    7. I tried cutting off the automatic updates and do it manually
    8. added windowsupdate trust area
9A ran MicrosoftFixit50202 in normal mode and advanced

Even with my internet SHUT OFF (disabled since modem) it still checks the updates and does not fail with "No internet connection available.

    Please, please help. Anyone.

    Problem solved.

It was my internet connection! I logged on my neighbors wireless unsecured (ssh... don't tell lol), and within 30 seconds, 77 updates came through!

  • Windows Update - Windows could not search for new updates 8024402F

Hi a family member recently gave me their laptops because Windows Update has been warning that it was unable to check the updates.  It is currently running Visa Home Premium 32 bit.  After much googling and try several suggestions such as rename the file and the updated Windows Update repair tool, that I couldn't solve the problem so did a factory restore and went to reinstall the programs.  To my surprise the problem returns.  I did a restore to factory again and this time installed Vista SP2 from the file download full, installed office 2003, applied to Office 2003 SP3 and all other updates to Office 2003 I have saved and installed IE9.  Windows Update worked at this stage.  I ghost the PC, then changed Windows update of "Windows only" Windows Update "Windows and other Microsoft products" and re-run.  He looked for hours until I turned off the PC and now error code 8024402F.  My first thought is what happens when you turn on other products from microsoft for Windows Update is it downloads and installs something on the web.  Is there a problem with this module?  I have not yet installed an Antivirus so I know this isn't a factor.  Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be the problem?

    Thank you Jose,

I think that I already tried but tried again without success.  I tried several things including Windows 7 instead of Vista, a different installation of Microsoft Office 2003 in the case where mine was corrupted etc, but still no luck.  As soon as Windows Update has been changed to include Microsoft Products he kept fails with this error.

In the end, I tried newer versions of Office (reconstruction of the laptop each time) and with Office 2010 and Office 2013 it works fine.

My uneducated conclusion is that there is a compatibility issue with Microsoft Update and Office 2003.

So my solution is to upgrade to Office 2013.  Sorry, it is not a solution to the real problem, more of a work around, but hey 2003 was almost 10 :) 9 years ago

  • Update Windows Vista crashes with 'check updates'

Last month, Windows Vista updates began to hang on to the 'check updates'.

I have: 1. tried all the fixes I could find.
2 reloaded Vista with SP1 from a recovery partition.
3 update worked until SP2; SP2 downloaded and installed OK.

    4. then, the update said I need latest update agent (7.6.7600.256). Downloaded and installed OK. At this point, the Windows update fails.
    5. If I uninstall SP2, but let the agent update, it works. When I reinstall SP2, it fails.

    6. I have installed a completely different image of Vista - this one was integrated in SP2. This version fails in the same way.

    7. I ran SFC, CHKDSK, System diags, updated all my drivers updated BIOS and replaced the memory. As far as I can tell this is the only thing that does not work on my PC.

Anyone has any ideas. ? -Thanks!

    Hi Ichabod22:

Thanks for your comments, and happy this worked.  I did have the chance to try this workaround yet - my phase "check for updates..." ran for 4 hours during my may 2016 updated Patch Tuesday before we found 16 available updates - but quite a few users of Win 7 SP1 and SP2 of Vista are now reporting that before installing these updates Windows kernel mode driver (Win32k.sys) each month (for example the KB3145739 in April 2016; KB3153199 in may 2016) reduced their updates for Patch Tuesday to hours to minutes.

I doubt that this is a permanent solution so be sure to check the page Web of Dalai Search for Windows Updates takes forever?-a possible solution next month to see if a new version of Win32k.sys is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center before your race updates your June 2016 Patch Tuesday.

Woody Leonhard has published a series of articles on of temporary workaround in his Woody on Windows blog, including Windows 7 update scans still holding? KB 3153199 can solve the problem, so congratulations to Woody, Dalai and others to share this potential solution.

  • My vesta does not detect the updates window

    Hello

    My stopped vesta of the window update detection< when="" i="" ask="" for="" window="" update="" it="" keeps="" running="" forever="" without="" finding="" new="">

    Hi AymanTakieddin:

Many of SP2 for Vista and Win 7 SP1 users currently have the same problem.  If you leave Windows Update running for several hours and do not see an error message if you think that "check for updates..." will be finally executed completion and the report that the updates are available for download.

If this does not help, see the step-by-step instructions posted on 16 June 2016 wire m #l's updates does not, he has been looking for updates for hours.

These instructions are based on the instructions on the page Web of Dalai Search for Windows Updates takes forever?-a possible solution http://wu.krelay.de/en/ and take you through the process of finding a Windows kernel-mode driver (Win32K.sys) updates currently absent from your system, download the standalone update packages (.msu file) from the Microsoft Download Center and pre installation of these missing updates (in order from oldest to the most recent) before running Windows Update in order to install your remaining updates.  This work around usually decreases "checking for updates..." a few hours to ~ 20 min.

If you have completely connected from may 2016 there should be only a lack Win32K.sys update - KB3161664 - you must install before running Windows Update to install remaining this month dozen or so June 2016 Patch updates Tuesday.

  • all the updates Windows 7 available for installation, 0% download

    Windows 7 pro / 64-bit

A few weeks ago, I received a notice stating that the updates are available and ready to download and install.
I selected files and click OK. And left the room to go do something else, it usually takes an hour to download and install the files. I returned a few hours later and discovered "download 0% complete".  He has never taken this long.

So I contacted MS support by telephone and gave them remote access to my pc.  They conducted tests of troubleshooting.  Conclusions of the trial revealed that some files have been resolved.  Before offline support, they passed a number of folder my way and disconnected.

But I still have the same problem.  Updates are available and always see "download 0% complete".  I even let my pc for eight hours and still nothing.

According to me, there was a lot to ask the same question. Many have responded with answers and all end up the same way.
    "There is no fix.

I asked a question last week, if the updates can be downloaded manually.  One answer said to copy some files and share them on OneDrive.   OK, I opened an account on OneDrive and two shared files.  One being a copy of the information system and the other, a copy of the system events. And who shared with the question. Heard nothing.

  • Updated Windows huge problem?

OK, my problem is THAT WU worked for 2 weeks in a row.  I ran each diagnosis tools, convenience stores, Scans and fix his previous discussions that have worked in the past.  Here's what made WU.  It runs and uses all the resources and the cpu.  Cannot access the internet because WU uses every bit of my computer and makes the rest of the useless.  In other words WU takes over my computer completely and cannot use any program whatsoever until I got disabling WU.  Only after I disabled service WU I can then go on the internet and use my programs and others.  Can someone please find a real solution for that stupid fool Windows update.  Microsoft will not address these issues and we consumers have to fix ourselves.  I am running Win 7 32 sp1 and is not a performance problem and SFC and other troubleshooting options won't work at all to fix Windows Update.  Someone please for the love of God.  I am at my end of strings with WU and I really want to dump Windows all together and try Linux or another OS just to get away from WU.

If you did the first post, I did try this next and yes it has been a problem, but it has been fairly constant during the definition

I tried to do a repair, but this is notauto-start.

    Hello

This problem is usually caused by Windows Update corrupted downloads or installations. However, virus infections are also known to cause this problem. Before scanning for viruses, please try these troubleshooting steps and check whether the problem is resolved:

Method 1: reset the Windows Update components and check if the error persists:

How to reset the Windows Update components?
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058/en-us

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

Method 2: use Deployment Image Servicing and Management to fix Windows Update errors.

To do this, follow these steps:

    a. press the Windows key + C and type cmd in the Search box.

    b. right-click on command prompt and select run as administrator.

    c. type these commands and press enter after each:

    DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    d. close the command prompt, and then run Windows Update again.
