  You need not install older versions in order to get the last update enabled.  During the CS4 activation process, you can specify the eligible previous version (choose the oldest among a list, then enter its serial number).  Choose any one you had just before CS4.

• Windows Update seems to be downloading wrong driver for my DVD-rom

  Hi, yesterday I bought a new Asus CM6730 i3 desktop computer. I got home and tried to update such as suggested by the store to see the update of Windows is completely broken. It checks and discovered updates ok, but when you click on install, it says 67 download important updates (0KB Total, 0% complete) and is not further than that.   I have exactly the same problem with a different laptop, I bought today. It has been very frustrating, doing everything and every suggestion/solution that I could find on answers.microsoft.com, but always without success.   I've owned a upgrade for Windows 8 Pro key already so I reset, installed upgrading then used the previous tutorial and updates began to come through into pieces. I got something like 42 updates only once, and then I installed Windows 8.1 from the store and the rest finished after the update.
  Another thing I tried was to disable all non-Microsoft services and startup programs.
  As I said, I don't know exactly what fixed it so you may need to contact ASUS support.

• Since the upgrade to WIndows 10, my update to Thunderbird is broken. Would it not possible to download one that works with 10?

  Everything else seems to work very well, but I'm stuck in my old version (31.7.0) because the updater won't load.
