Update Windows XP Pro Dell D830

the Windows update website site has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view

Just a clean installed because I had all sorts of problems with Windows Update.

Service Pack 3 is responsible and Office 2010

MSE is responsible and does its updates.

Cannot use Windows Update at all - the main reason for doing a clean install.

Any ideas?

I had a stable internet connection and only after manual installation of dozens of updates, I've finally fixed. It's obviously one or more updates that cause this problem as there are dozens of people who have the same problem.

    Hello

Check your level of service current pack...

    • Hold down the Windows (between Ctrl and Alt) key and press Pause break
    • Examine what is listed in the system: section

If there is no service pack designated first level you must download SP2 from...

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=28

.. .and then run the downloaded program to install SP2.

Once you have done this, or if you were already in service pack 1, 1a or 2, then install SP3 by downloading and running from...

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=24

For both of the above, you can ignore the text that says it's for network installations and also ignore the text advising windows/microsoft update if a single update of a PC.

So try and get up-to-date with the Windows updates.

  • Help! -New Dell i3847 - Windows 7 Pro - Dell Recovery Disk Win 8.1 & DBaR don't make a backup of the system

I bought a new Dell i3847 and it has Windows 7 Pro 64 bit installed at the factory on it.

I wanted to make a complete backup of the system, but the Dell Backup and Recovery software does not allow me to make a backup of the system.  In addition, I was unable to create a system recovery disk using Dell backup and restore.

I can't use the drive system recovery expected Dell because it clearly states Windows 8.1

    (1) why is a Win 8.1 drive included with a Win 7 Pro 64 bit system?

    (2) what is the problem with Dell backup and recovery that she:

    (a) cannot create a recovery disc factory

    (b) allow me to create a backup system so I can go back to the factory State

    Help!

It has been 2.5 hours and it is still "initialize disk" to create a recovery of the plant.  It usually somewhere fails during initialization or in writing.    Spend hours for each failed attempt to create a factory recovery disc is NOT GOOD!

The factory restore disk was finally created.

Dell is now a person pays create a backup system and the user must download a update to do so.

Microsoft has a tool to create a system image and make a recovery / restore disc which is free.

So, I used DBaR do restore disk by the factory.

However, to make a system image and a recovery / restore for that, I used windows 7 built in software.

  • Update Windows 8 pro 8.1 pro - product key/activation required?

I have a dell latitude E5530 it came preinstalled and active with windows 8 pro. I get guests to update to 8.1 and indeed when I go to store the link is available. However, I want to know if I need the product key for this upgrade? Will I need to reactivate after upgrade? If so how can I get the current installation product key? The upgrade will also default 8.1pro?

Thanks for your help, I know that these issues are pretty basic but I can't seem to find the answers in the son and I saw the charges based on complaints from upgrade so I'm trying to be careful.

The product key for the 8.0, you already is built into the system (it was on stickers on the laptops, but now it is embedded in the BIOS of the motherboard).

The 8.1 update is a service pack, so it won't change your product key or activation, and no new key is required.  It's just a set of updates.
