  I have a Bold 9650 and last night I updated to OS6, the undate seemed to go ok, I even had a little video to show the features, but then he told me that I had to update my email addresses, and when I did I was told to reboot to complete the update.  At this point I got was the start to the top/reload screen that says Blackberry with the white flag of the restart procedure.  The complete line indicating that the process is complete, but it is stuck on this screen.

  I have taken the battery several times, and the same process is repeated.  Any ideas on how to get my phone working again?

  Thank you very much for this information.  It was my original plan, but I didn't know how to go on this issue.

  I ended up going in Blackberry Desktop Software and applications, I noticed that I had 2 email, configure applications.  Since this is what I was doing when it failed, I removed the older (thought it was probably the surplus OS5 and incompatible with the new OS) and it worked.  I did a restore and everything seems to work fine now.  And I'm diggin' OS6!

  I Keeping getting the following error message when you try to update my software BB on my BB Bold 9900 using MacBook Pro:

  BlackBerry® Desktop Software could not validate your update to the BlackBerry® device. Aborting installation because of the failure of the validation. Some unsatisfied dependencies contained package.

  My BB Messenger seems to have disappeared, but still is still installed on my phone while I was trying to force an upgrade re your suggestions on some of your other discussions

  Just for your information and for others in a similar situation, I managed to fix the problem. Somehow BlackBerry Messenger had been corrupted and could not be uninstalled through the BlackBerry Desktop Software. Don't know if this is a quirk of Mac! However, there is a hidden agenda somewhere Application Manager in the Bold 9900, accessible through the search utility, which he skipped completely allowing a relocation of a clean version of the BB Messenger & removing the problems expressed above.

• BlackBerry Smartphones DTEK and device encryption must be OPTIONAL

  As far as I understand BlackBerrys intended to ensure the safety of the box, I think that DTEK and device encryption affects performance and therefore has a negative impact on customers and the user experience and lead to lower sales and higher return rates.

  BlackBerry needs to update the firmware and optional encryption of devices and security DTEK.

  I updated the software on my desktop and connected my Bold 9700 to my computer.  He asked me my device password, but it does not accept it.  I am tempted to 8/10 and I know that I will have problems if I keep trying.  I unplugged my bb, but he is always anxious to a password and he accepts not.

  Also the password on my bb is showing me the characters rather than astericks, I type in.

  I don't know what is happening and I don't want to lose all my data.  Help!

  I just updated my a.75 Storm.  The upgrade restored my data, but after it was done, my said storm not enabled in the Activation of the company.  Since it restored all my data, that I didn't activate it again because I would get duplicate contacts and calendar elements.  I sent the BES service books, and he says he did, but the device still says not activated.  Am I missing a step here as restart once more or wait for a while before it reactive?  I went ahead and wiped your handheld, restored my data messages and SMS Messages, then made an Activation of the company.  This guaranteed without duplicate contacts and calendar items since they are synchronized Bes.  If you're on BES, when you upgraded your operating system, you're device reactivate or did you have to turn it back on I had to?

  If you are on GroupWise, which would explain why you need to redo the Activation of your company. Unfortunately GroupWise deferred Exchange in Domino in what concerns to the Office Manager as platforms have a connection to the Office Manager in the mail system that takes care to reactivate your upgrade of the post of BB. GroupWise Desktop Manager does not work.

  To modernize it addition who is out I would look in the guide upgrade the wireless device and Ko in the section our site support. They will allow BES administrators to deploy upgrades to devices that can be upgraded online such as the BB Storm from Verizon can do currently.

  After that I upgraded a.99, some of my music files will not play. I get a message saying that they are not a supported format. The files are NOT protected, DRM works on the version.75, and all THE music files are in the same format (WMA).

  OK... Here's what I did:

  -Returned in version.75 and all the music worked, knew so it wasn't any problem of license.

  -Returned a.99 and once more, that only a few music would play

  -converted all my music in MP3 and now they all work avec.99

  Apparently the jour.99 is not too easy to WMA...

  my phone needed to update the software so I chose for her to do. However, it has reached the stage where it is back up my data, but it has now ceased on 12% overal completion for several hours.   One:

  • Open Blackberry Desktop Software & connect your device with the PC using the USB cable, without inserting the battery.
  • You have three Retry option, update or cancel, and then click Update.
  • Once it is at the stage of the "initialization of pocket" update, then insert the batteries.
  • If this does not work, and you get stuck on the safeguarding of social data feeds, go to the second method below.

  Second:

  • Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow handheld to connect. If you are prompted to update, cancel the upgrade for later.
  • IF you can not connect or your desktop software does not recognize your device in Mode safe, please follow the instructions here to force detection: Article ID: KB10144 how to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader
  • Go to device > delete > SELECT DATA > select this option to remove the Social flow and smart card data bases and follow the rest invites you to complete.
  • Now, you can go back and click to update the device through the Desktop Manager, or restart the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue on the upgrade of the air.
