  Please try to run the cleanup tool "Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat tool - Adobe Labs" on your machine to remove all traces of the reader.

  Then, restart your machine and install the latest version of the player from here:

  Adobe Acrobat Reader DC install for all versions

  Let me know if any problem will persist.

• I can't run windows update to SP3 for windows xp family. I get the error of 0 x 0240036.

  I had to restore my computer using the disks that came withit. I was able to install the SP2 and IE8. Now, I'm trying to download SP3. When sent to the site of microsoft.com Download Center, I get a window with vertical links that do not connect what either. By vertical I mean everything is a single line, then on the line below, all in blue letters. There are large screens winddows logo, box office and others. List of countries, etc.

  I tried Mr. Fix, but it says that I need SP3. But I can't get the SP3. I'm on a wireless network, so I had to install the driver and the code WEP to get on the web, so I have not yet saved. I looked in Add/Remove programs and I don't have a Windows Update. Automatically up to date is enabled.

  Silverlight security are what update you referring? You can check the number of KB in the history of the update.

  Measures to ensure update history:

  1. click on Start, click all programsand then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

  2. on the Windows Update Web site or the Microsoft Update Web site, click view update history.

  Reset Windows Update components and check if that helps.

  Hello I'm not real smart about vista (well well not at all) have an HP G60-237NR and I like it but I did C and D drives with images and downloads, thinking it was usp disk, all right I was wrong.  I was looking for an easy way to delete unnecessary files and found something that I click in the operator system (do not remember what) and I did this he warned me I could lose the configuration files, but I noticed at the end.  Now sometimes I have vista and xp, TONS of MISTAKES, sometimes, finally I found a way to transform programs and devices but they still leave but system is a little better.  I can't keep the connection with the hp chat so I thought I'd ask the experts for ANY AND ALL THOUGHTS or IDEAS on what a housewife can do with this machine is so much smarter than me... lol cattery Lady / the pro for the wife

  Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers Forum.  You have this laptop set up for a dual-boot?  I ask because sometimes you say you're in XP and Vista, sometimes.  I think your best course of action at this point is to run the System File Checker.  This scan system files and will repair or replace all you can find missing or damaged.  To do this under Vista:

  1. click on the ORB start

  2. click on all programs

  3. click on accessories

  4. right click on command prompt and then click Run as administrator

  5. type: sfc/scannow

  6 do not all messages that appear in the window.

  We hope to see SFC found and fixed the problems.  If you get another message or this does not solve the problem, please include the message, you get a description of the problem in your answer.
