Updated KB2656368 and KB2686827 do not install, get an error code 641

I have two important updates for NET Framework 4 who don't keep not install.  The updates are (KB2656368) and (KB2686827).  I get an error code 641 when I try to install them.  What should I do?

You can try the applicable repair just only the .NET Framework versions affected - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976982

In many cases repair .NET Framework 4 is sufficient to fix the corruption, but in some cases, need to uninstall and reinstall .NET Framework 4.

Reluctant to do a reinstall of windows.  I had the same problem, find the same useless information on a cure.  I did a reinstall of windows (Vista) and partially by installing the updates of windows I ran into the same problem again, the windows installer does not.  Even from scratch will get not anywhere, leaving you at least your system as it stands leaves can be used instead of a partially updated with no program system.

I wonder if Apple has this kind of problem?

My problem is on an old computer (not this one) running Windows Vista Home Premium.  Show downloads are KB2690729, 2656353, 2656370, 2604111, 2604121, 2656368, 2656045 and 2686827.  When I tried to download individually, the first and the third update (above) showed as being downloaded correctly, yet when I checked the list of updates successfully, none of these appeared.  Since that time, the system generated downloads 8 updates have been fruitless.

Like the other reviewers, I run IOL System Mechanic and have noted your comments about the interaction between the SM and windows.  Personally, I hesitate to attempt changes to the registry based on the stories of war, with that I've heard of people who do not have the knowledge/experience/skill to work in the more than causing registty problems they started.  I have not contacted LIO, wondering if this was done either by Microsoft with others who have similar problems.

I hope that you have more tips to share what to do: this problem.

  • BSOD after updating Windows and it is not installed.

A blue screen of death appears whenever I put it in sleep mode, standby time, turn it off or restart.  It happened from a windows update when I started it up after it stops after the update, and she appeared with another update.  He still wants to install the update, but it still gets a BSOD at the end.  The BSOD seems to point to usbhub.sys.  Thank you.
    Signature of the problem:
    Problem event name: BlueScreen
    The system version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 1033
    More information about the problem:
    BCCode: 1000007e
    BCP1: C0000005
    BCP2: D 907 5013
    BCP3: ACF80B68
    BCP4: ACF80864
    OS version: 6_0_6002
    Service Pack: 2_0
    Product: 768_1
Files helping to describe the problem:
    C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini042210-01.dmp
    C:\Users\office depot\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-113724-0.sysdata.xml
    C:\Users\office depot\AppData\Local\Temp\WER5DC8.tmp.version.txt

You indicate that you get blue screen after the update is finished installing. Or do you find only the blue screen when you perform certain functions with the system which requires a State of transition of power (sleep, restart, etc.)?

You've got bugcheck SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED caused an access violation.

You can download the contents of c:\windows\minidump on your SkyDrive? The discharge can take probably a few additional details.

To treat blue screens, following general tips:

Consider running chkdsk on all partitions.  Leave complete chkdsk on each partition and see if that helps.

    Also consider running SFC/scannow.

If you start in safe mode, do you still feel bugs? What if you do a clean boot, or boot device?

Other common suggestions include ensuring drivers are up to date (including video drivers), but also to ensure that you use the latest version of the BIOS.

Consider the memory with memtest86 or Windows Memory Diagnostic test. Note that memory that pass the tests isn't necessarily good memory - he not only failed a review.  Examine systematically to eliminate the system RAM - run with a few modules for awhile and see how things are going. Then try the other modules.

For the case of memory corruption such as you seem to be experiencing, it may be useful to use Driver Verifier.  To activate the... Driver Verifier start-> verifier.exe-> OK-> create standard settings - > then-> the names of the drivers select in a list-> next-> sort by provider-> select all non-Microsoft drivers-> finish and OK your way out of the dialog box.

Then restart and use the system as you normally and wait for a problem.  In case the system does not completely start after activation of the Verifier, boot mode safe and run driver verifier and tell him to remove the changes.

Wait for an error checking to happen after you have enabled the auditor as described and then transfer it to your SkyDriveand provide a link.
