Windows update installation update 4 of 5 for 2 hours and did not finish.  28/10/10

    Hi Mandude,

What Windows version\edition you run the computer?

Step 1: Disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) readers, etc...) Except the mouse and keyboard > check if installation of update takes place more quickly

Step 2: You can follow the steps mentioned in the article below, which deals with a similar question

The update is not installed successfully, you receive a message, and the computer restarts when you try to install an update in Windows Vista and Windows 7

  • I have a HP Pavilion Windows Vista Home Premium, and the D: drive is full.

I have a HP Pavilion Windows Vista Home Premium, and the D: drive is full. I don't understand how he got that way... but... I've never used windows to the top, however I do back up with my Norton Security.  I'm not a COMPUTER guru AT ALL and am very confused as to what must be saved for me to do a system restore.  I just made a backup on a 16 GB usb flash drive, which included photos, documents, email, contacts and music.  But what of my registry or my drivers I've updated on the latest updates of 2 years and windows?

So in plain English for the layperson to the computer, lol, can someone tell me...

    1. where should I back up to? (windows, norton?)

    2. what should I back up? EXACTLY, please. lol (I have hundreds of games, I don't want to back to the top if possible)

3 and... HOW MUCH ALCOHOL SHOULD I HAVE AVAILABLE WHILE TRYING THIS. LOL just kidding. Laughing out loud

    Hello

Updates must be installed in a certain order and no Service Pack must be installed unless and until it is offered through Windows Update.

    However, try these options:

Step 1: You can not reuse what already automatically downloaded and installed. You can however save updates and install them manually if you wish.

Step 2: You can create a system image on the computer. A system image is an exact copy of a disc. By default, a system image includes the drives required for Windows to run. In addition, it includes Windows and your system settings, programs and files. You can use a system image to restore the contents of your computer if your hard drive or computer ever stops working.

  • Satellite A110-180 - update of the Bios for Windows 7 and Linux

    Hello

I want to change the following settings in my bios on my laptop satellite A110-180
    * AHCI for SATA
    Disable the IDE

    But none of these options.
So I thought that maybe I should update my bios.
I found the download page, but there are 2 options: Windows Vista or NO vista, but I want to dual boot windows 7 and linux.

Which one should I download, or is there another option to change the settings?

    Thank you!
    Bart

    Hello

Satellite A110 does not support these options (SATA AHCI).
The update of the BIOS will not help you!

Linux is not supported and therefore, you will not find any special BIOS for Linux OS!

The two BIOS updates are for Win Vista or OS independent.
Therefore, if you use other than Vista OS then you should throw the update of the independent BIOS to the BONE!

But as mentioned above; both options will not appear after the BIOS update!

  • Updates do not install for CS6 Photoshop and Dreamweaver

    Hi people out there

I tried to install the updates appear in my creative cloud for CS6 Dreamweaver and Photoshop CS6 application but it downloads and then gives me an error message of failure of the update with the U44M1P7 error. I tried the fixes offered on other posts here, but it does not solve the problem and I'm still not able to update these programs.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thank you

So I fixed it myself by uninstalling Photoshop CS6 both Dreamweaver CS6, then do a re-installation of CS6 Master Collection and that left me with messages of update in the creative clouds and this time loading successfully updates!

Thanks to these 2 people responded. This seems to be a regular problem, but judging by the posts on the forums. Maybe then this fix will help others.

  • The BDV-E580 Netflix app will be always updated to include support for the profile and the new interface of Netflix?

I had my BDV-E580 for about I would say 2 years now, I don't plan on obtaining a new player Blu - Ray any time soon, because the surround speakers work fine with it, but I'm a little sad that I didn't get the support profile or the most recent software updates with Netflix interface , I recently noticed the icon has changed to the new red on white logo of Netflix, but it would be great if you (Sony) could support at least update the Netflix app for my and other devices.

You can share your application at the 'join the Inspiration"community of Sony. Comments or suggestions that you would like to post there would be much appreciated.

  • Win 7 and DVD writer LG GP50Nb40 USB - device unknown

    Hello

I bought the DVD external USB GP50Nb40 LG burner and I'm under Win 7 64 bit.  I have connected the device with the supplied cable and windows says that there is already a device and refused to play the DVD.

I have a HP DVD writer internal.  so I assumed that there was a conflict and disabled the HP device.  Windows has always refused to recognize the device.

then I activated the HP and put the LG inside installation disk and copied it on my hard drive.

then I opened my office case and disconnect the power cable and sata internal DVD HP.

then I turned the computer back on and the LG software installed disk.

then I downloaded an update from LG as directed by their software.

He failed because he said that I didn't have the specified device from LG.

but I have the LG connected via USB 2.0 hub, but I can't use it all.

    Windows displays an unknown device.

is there anyway to get my external LG to work or do I have to return to electronic Fry?

I've already spent more than 2.5 hours on what should have been a very simple installation, that's why I bought a USB device instead of an internal procedure.

Assuming that you tried to connect to USB ports - preferably a USB port on the back plane of the computer and not through a hub - I assume that the device is defective and return.

From what I can tell, this external hard drive does not have its own power supply and relies on the USB for power.  This can cause problems if you have other devices drawing power.  Try that it connected directly to the computer with no other USB devices connected other than the keyboard and mouse.

  • I try to install the update kb953297. It says code 66A and missing something on a fix. What does that mean?

It has something to do with service pack1 microsoftnet.framework1.1

    Hi gawaray,

Please let us know the exact error message.
We also know the operating system installed on your computer.

As we are not able to install the .net Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 on the computer and we get an error, it must remove all versions of Microsoft .net Framework from the computer by using the removal tool, and we then need to run the Windows updates on the computer so that all versions of Microsoft .net Framework is installed on the computer.

Remove all versions of Microsoft .net Framework on the computer will delete shared files and registry keys used by other versions of the .net Framework. Then we will re - install them through updates Windows again on the computer and the shared files and registry keys will be rebuilt.

From the link below download the .net Framework tool cleaning and run it to remove ".net Framework - all Versions" and then restart the computer.

    .Net framework cleanup tool: http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/attachment/8904493.ashx

After reboot, run updates Windows and all versions of the .net Framework must get installed on the computer.

  • Speakers not working do not and not even showing under reading devices in Windows 7

Hey guys, I ask here as a last resort. I swear I tried everything to get my speakers to work.

    Here is my current problem:
    My new speakers (http://www.corsair.com/pc-computer-audio/pc-computer-speakers/gaming-audio-series-sp2500-high-power-2-1-pc-speaker-system.html/)
does not work via my computer. I tried using MP3 players and my cell phone and they work very well on those, but for some reason, my integrated sound card refuses to recognize that I have even speakers.
Here is a list of the things I've tried to address them:
    1. ensure that they are plugged into the correct port on the back
    2. ensure that they feed.
    3. I uninstalled and reinstalled my drivers realtek audio several times with restarting the computer without result.
    4. I even tried older drivers on the realtek Web page to see if they could work.
5 I have even updated drivers for my motherboard itself to see if it could help somehow. with no luck as well.
    6. I tried a separate set of speakers (Logitech 5.1) and they don't work anymore. I confirmed these speakers worked on MP3 players and phones too.
The only thing showing in my playback devices is: Realtek HDMI output, and he says it is plugged.
Any Realtek Codec and the audio driver I tried loading, Realtek HD Audio Manager not show up on my computer.
In Device Manager, I also tried to change the audio drivers manually, and I have been able to remedy.
Here are some details of the computer.
    MS Windows 7 Home Premium
    64-bit SP1
    CPU AMD Phenom II X 6 1100t
    16 GB of Ram
    AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series

If you need any further details to help solve this problem, please contact me as soon as you can and I'll help you!
Thank you very much everyone, I really appreciate it.
    -Tyler

Method 1 fixed immediately.  I assumed that windows was not 'smart enough' to solve my problem but very well worked.  He finds my speakers who were * removed *. Not appear in the acoustic Panel of Win 7 in all.

  • HP Elitebook 8570W: driver problem: other devices - device base system and unknown device.

    Hi guys,.

After doing a clean update on my HP elitebook 8570W I had a few unknown devices in my device manager.

The first is a device called "base system" in PCI Slot 2 (bus PCI 36, device 0, function 1). I tried everything in my ability to determine what is this device and what drivers to install, so far without success.

In the same section. other devices, there is another unknown device on PCI Express Root complex that gives me the same headache.

I hope you guys can help me understand this.

If you need further information, I will be happy to provide that.

    Kind regards

    Didier

    Hello:

The base system device is certainly the JMicron card reader needs the driver, not the alcor one.

    You need this driver...

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?sp4ts.Oid=5257503 & swItemId = ob_124666_1 & swEnvOid = 4158

If the driver above does not installing it automatically, try to install manually.

To manually install the driver, go to Device Manager, click the Base system device.

Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.   Select her browse my computer for driver software option and find the folder of the driver that was created when you ran the file.

The file is located in C:\SWSetup\sp63637

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and see the driver installs like that.

  • Minor problem with the New Installation of Windows 7 on my Inspiron E1705/9400 - two entries for "Base system device" under "Other devices" with yellow exclamation point

    Hello

First of all, let me tell you about my system.   It is of a laptop Inspiron E1705/9400 with the Core 2 Duo T7400 processor clocked at 2.16 GHZ.   It has 2 GB of RAM and a hard drive on the Hitachi Travelstar nine 500 GB (7200 RPM).   It also has the GeForce Go 7900 GS video card.    Previously, it had Windows XP Professional (32 bit) and worked well.   But, I have three computers in my home and Home Office and would they work better together on my wired home network, so I'm upgrading all three to Windows 7.   My two desktops (a Dimension XPS 420 and the other Dimension XPS 430) seem like they will be no problem to upgrade to Windows 7.   But, this laptop was not on the list of Dell Windows 7 compatibility.   However, the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor that I have downloaded and run seemed to say that it was OK to do a clean install of Windows 7 32-bit and he had only a few minor issues, where it says search the drivers updated from the manufacturer.   Initially, the laptop came with a 100 GB hard drive.   For my use, which becomes very small, so I decided to get the exact same 7200 RPM drive 500 GB size.   This will allow me to do a clean install of the 32 bit Windows 7 OS on the new hard drive and not have to wipe the old disk to do so.   I can just keep the old HD and paste it back whenever I need to get something out of it.

So, here's my minor problem.   After the transfer of some elements off the coast of the old hard drive, I installed the new 500 GB drive and installed a cleaning of the 32-bit version of Windows 7.    I'm happy to announce that I have not had virtually no problems with installation and everything seems to work fine.   He seems a little more zippy than before and I have not met so far that doesn't seem to work.   I went through most of features and almost everything is superb.   But there is a minor problem, showing in Device Manager.   At least, I think it's a minor problem, but maybe someone can give me feedback to know if she is or not.

In the Device Manager list, there is a category called "other devices" now and the icon shows a little white circle with an exclamation mark.    When you expand this category, you see two identical entries that say "Base system device" and the icon has a yellow circle with an exclamation mark inside.     I know from experience that it is not a good thing to see items in the device manager that have a yellow circle with an exclamation point.   I clicked on both of them and neither one really tells you what the device is, or who did what is site you would go to a driver.    On the general tab, it has the following information:

    -Device type Other devices

    Reference of the manufacturer- Unknown

                         Location     -         Bus PCI 3, device 1, function 3

Under device status, it says the following:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the item or a set of device information

To find a driver for this device, click Update driver.

Each of the entries seem to be almost the same thing... but not exactly.   The other has the location

list PCI Bus 3, device 1, function 2... instead of function 1.   This seems to be the only difference.

I tried the button to update the driver, but that doesn't seem to work.   No matter if you say it looks like your

computer or to look for a new driver from the internet, it does not find anything.     As I said at the beginning,

the system seems to work very well... but, given that I don't know what this device is or does, I might be missing something.

He drives me crazy just have these yellow circles with exclamation point hanging out in my device manager.

I could really use some help here.    Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Bryan Ray (Richmond, WILL)

BTW, I just downloaded and installed the driver pack from this ftp location and it worked, even for Windows 8.1 - 64 bit.

    Thanks Steve!

  • Re: Win 10 update stay at 55% for 5 hours and counting

    Success!

Disconnect the external monitor see, necessary ed: I stopped, disconnected the monitor, put on the market and launched the update to win 10. The first phase where you get the % of the messages of progress went to completion, then the machine has restarted and then a second phase has begun - with % complete rework. This second phase has taken much longer, but finally managed.

It is in the first phase where I got to 55% before dropping out. Now, everything looks good.

I have a similar problem (Win 10 update won 55%) on my Pavilion 17 e135nr and will post my results here.
