  The oracle server that I currently am, I copied to another server. On this new server, we use the same resources as the original server, but the performance is poor.

  We have HP ux server with 5 cases on it. DBs are 10201.
  
  Never applied security patches. Now I think to upgrade to 10205 to apply the latest patch of cpu.
  
  I tried the Oracle support Web site to find out patch that is required to download, but not found.
  
  Someone help? give me a link?
  
  Or upgrade to 11g will be the best choice?

  Yes, you can. You must separate oracle-houses, but it's doable. You may also modify your environment variables when you run version 11 client (depending on your operating system).
  I had probably used personally in this case the 11g 'Instant customer '.

  You can download and install the 'instant' Client on an OTN account.
  Of course, in production, you should always have a valid license of the Oracle. ;-)

  I use LOV IR (static) in the apex 5.0

  There is no need to store the TOTAL_AMOUNT in the database that the value of a line can be derived from the stored PRODUCT_QTY and UNIT_PRICE using the expression PRODUCT_QTY * UNIT_PRICE.   This error occurs when the code runs the line in Vb.net application in Model Designer

  I create the SSDL and CSDL, MSL files for oracle to MS SQL connection by the method mentioned in the link JasonShort - professional profile - CodeProject it worked perfectly fine without the stored procedures. I managed to insert, update, and delete records. Then, I created stored procedures for Insert, Update, Delete. It worked fine with MS SQL. I copied and updated oracle files respectively. I gives me the error mentioned above.

  I executed stored procedures in Oracle SQL Developer, and it works without error. But when it is executed via the model there is light of the error. Can anyone let me know the solution for this error. I'm using VS2010, EF6, Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64 bit Production

  Sorry for the inconvenience. After I posted this question I took a break and saw that the error was nothing, but I had given FNAME as parameter name in MS SQL. In oracle when I created the sp I created the parameter with p_FNAME. Where the schema defined in the language SSDL and CSDL, MSL had to be changed to MS, but since I want to that it would be same in different databases, I choose to have changed it in oracle stored procedure. The error msg is confusing, it should be something not found parameter or incompatibility etc.

  Could not understand even after going the Readme in the patch... Do I need to set the Oracle_Home new Oracle_home to /oracle/VIS/db/tech_st/11.2.0.3 because it is not specifically mentioned
  in the Readme of the Patch or http://chavalis.blogspot.in/2012/10/upgrading-r12-11-vision-database.html#! 2012/10/upgrading-R12-11-vision-database.html...

  OPatch succeeded.

  This indicates that the hotfix has been applied with success - you can also confirm the same by issuing the command "opatch lsinventory.

  I don't know if it's the right way to do it. as a parameter the ORACLE_HOME to the new is not mentioned in the Readme of the Patch file

  As you have downloaded the patch for 11.2.0.3 you need to set your ORACLE_HOME to the 11.2.0.3 a. And the Readme of the fix for the 11.2.0.3 version clearly indicates (Product Version #: 11.2.0.3)-https://updates.oracle.com/Orion/Services/download?type=readme&aru=14211388

  I want to upgrade to the latest version of the ODAC, but I'm worried for two reasons:
  
  1. I don't know if the updated Oracle database server
  2. I don't know if it will negatively affect other applications on the same windows box running the old version of the dll
  
  Anyone can alleviate my concerns about this? She sucks really not be able to use Entity Framework because the old DLL implements IServiceProvider.

  (1) you do not have to upgrade the version of database.
  (2) ODP.NET is designed to allow multiple versions on the same machine. Each version should be in his own house in Oracle. We install policy dll so you must remove them from the GAC if you no longer want old apps to pick up the new ODP.NET. There is a discussion of this in the online help ODP.NET with some additional information about the use of configuration files of .net to achieve the same thing.
