Updated privacy settings, now Firefox is not running.

I've updated my security settings in Firefox, and now it will not work. I uninstalled and installed and tried using the secure, with no luck. That is what it is?

Could you be more specific about what does not work? For example, some sites will not stay connected or fail in other ways, if you refuse to accept all cookies.

But rather than make suggestions that are unnecessary, it would be great if you could describe the problem more in detail.

Note: If you want to restore the default settings, and you get tired of trial and error, there is the option to refresh. See: Firefox - modules to reset and refresh settings.

  • Webroot antivirus quarantined file ssl3.dll, now Firefox is not running. How can I solve this problem?

I've updated to the new firefox 8. It worked fine until that webroot ran a virus scan. It has quarantined the file ssl3.dll as a medium risk threat. Is it safe for me to UN-quarantine, or is it a malicious file?

    Hi Codgerette,

It's Greg of Webroot support in response to your message.

I checked your Support ticket, and it seems that the reason that the file has been quarantined because of a false positive alarm that has been resolved. I can assure you that the Webroot products are tested in other software packages for compatibility. Sometimes certain applications that receive incremental updates can initially marked because of the behavioral detection technique in SecureAnywhere. Unlike security software, Webroot SecureAnywhere relies on a database of clouds to check files, while once this file has been considered safe, all customers who have SecureAnywhere of installed Webroot will not have this updated file in quarantine and installation should go smoothly.

    Thank you

  • This is updated to firefox and now firefox is not working properly.

I ran firefox Setup Stub 33.0 9Firefox was last updated). Now when I run firefox the browser opens and she is black. I can't see anything to use the browser. I've uninstalled and reinstalled without success. I also restarted my computer. I took a screenshot of what it looks like.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the Firefox desktop or the shortcut on the start menu.

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe." Make sure you have you not click Reset Firefox

  • The computer date went before a day, switched back and now Firefox will not record history.

Hey guys! My brothers and sisters have decided to play a trick on me and changed my computer to the front of a week time (panic ensued). I changed it to the current date, 07/30/2104 21:18 (at time of writing), and now Firefox will not trace of my story. Just one day, I changed the time on the computer to the front and then Firefox will begin to record history. Changed, there again at the present time and also return one day and it will not save. Story work for Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.

TL:Dr - Firefox became the TARDIS and stepped forward in time to save the history.

  • Hate 4, System Restore tried to get version 3 back, now firefox will not open

After the upgrade to ver. 4, I had to start using for example to use the Court report sites and county tax sites and had other problems if I need to return ver.3

I did a system restore and now Firefox does not open. (Edition Vista Home premium)

    No problem.

Click on "programs and features" in your control panel. You will see your old version of 3.6 it and NOT version 4.

Uninstall the version 3.6 DO NOT click the check box to delete your stuff.

Go here and reinstall the version 3.6.17: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older

It undertakes to repair your version 3 and you will be operational with your old favorites, etc.

I got calls from a dozen people with this problem, and it's the solution.

    Enjoy your v.3.6.17

  • Update of Firefox does not, so I re-installed. Now firefox does not start at all?

Yes firefox, I started one morning, and I saw that it has been updated. After waiting, the notification saying "firefox is updated" crashed so I had to shut it down. When I started firefox again, he stated that the update failed, but less than a second after that notification skipped upward, it crashed also. He continued doing this, so I followed some instructions on the internet, re-installed firefox (without deleting the data of a personal nature), but now, firefox won't start at all!

    Now what?

Unfortunately, I never submitted before incident reports, so the folder does not exist in my computer

But the good news is that I tried running in windows safe mode, and it worked, then after returning to normal windows, it did not work. After waiting a while, now it works again, so I guess this can be considered resolved now

  • I was propted to update Itunes. The update failed, and now I can not open I tunes

I tunes has prompted me to upgrade to a new version. The update failed. Now I can't open I tunes.

General advice for troubleshooting when iTunes is unable to properly install (and reinstall or repair it does not) are to remove not only iTunes, but all the components, restart, remove the target installation files and reinstall.  See the following troubleshooting guide excellent by turingtest2:

    Firefox 36 is seriously broken

He updated on my computer and now does not work. I tried all the suggestions and no help... don't come back to IE

Hi wskossack, I'm sorry to hear that you have problems with Firefox 36. I also regret that we have not been able to get this working for you yet.

If what you really want is to uninstall Firefox we can do. Of course, I have to ask if you'd be willing to let my help allows you to get the most up to the working version of Firefox. But Firefox is all about the ability to customize. If you want we can install the latest version of Firefox and you can use it until the next version comes out or while we work to get 36 Firefox works for you. I will try to cover all the options in my answer.

First of all, I turn the uninstall of Firefox. If you want to watch the article click here that this can be done in 7 steps

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Firefox and install again. This will fix likely problems you have right now. Because you're asking how to do this, I'll assume that you have not tried this.

If you have Vista or Windows 7:

    (1) close all open Firefox Windows.

    (2) at the start menu click Control Panel

    (3) click on uninstall a program

    (4) from this list chose Firefox

    (5) click on uninstall (they are located up turds)
If the uninstall wizard does not work, you can start it manually by running helper.exe, located in one of these locations by default:
    (32-bit Windows) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\uninstall\helper.exe
    (64-bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox\uninstall\helper.exe

    (6) in the Firefox uninstall wizard click Next and on the next page, click Uninstall and then click on finish

    (7) to remove other files and folders that cannot be removed by uninstall it, you must manually remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations by default:

       (32-bit Windows) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
       (64-bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

The uninstall program removes all the data user such as history or bookmarks. To completely remove these data, you must manually delete the folder containing your Firefox user profile:

       Click the Windows Start button.

Type %APPDATA% in the search field and press enter to open the hidden Roaming folder.

       Open the Mozilla folder

    .

       Delete the Firefox folder.

Now, I'll go on how to get the latest version of Firefox installed on your computer. If you want to watch the article click here . If you decide that's what you want please read the article for more information security helpless.

Firefox 35.0.1 was the latest version of Firefox, and you can get it by clicking here . The link is also in the article. If you do this, you will need to disable the automatic update. To do this, go to options, then go to advance. The title of the advance, there will be a subtab. You want to go to update. You can then select never check or to tell you when there is an update.

So the only thing left is for me to help you with any problem you are having with Firefox 36. I hope that you will give me a chance. In any case, if you need more information or help with everything I went please let me know.

  • I've updated to 8.0 and now firefox will not open and I get an error message indicating that 7.0.1 is not compatible with version 8.0 of the Min and max version 8.0. What can I do now?

I tried to uninstall 7.0.1 and reinstall only and still it would not to date and problems such as the loss of my favorites and have different toolbars and Add ons whenever I opened it. I lost so many bookmarks and it became so frustrating that I decided to try to upgrade to see if that could overcome the problems. And now I have this problem. When I did a search on my hard drive to see the components of firefox how was I found firefox files and documents in all directions and I was wondering if I should just delete everything related to firefox to clean all residual files which could be causing problems and then start a clean download , but I didn't want to delete files in windows and didn't know what I should delete and I have to leave. Can anyone help? I miss my firefox and the wish that I had never upgraded to 7.0.1.
