Updates every time I stop.

Daily for 9 days, when it's time to stop, I allow to install a windows update.  And then it takes about 12 to 15 minutes until that ends, all on the screen that says "do not turn off or unplug your computer.

I'm running Windows 7 32-bit Home Edition.  According to the center of my action, there is currently no updates to install, but I assume that as soon as I stopped once again today, they tried to install another update (with a shield icon yellow of small windows on the button closure).

Why can I not get new upates daily, if not twice a day?

Thank you very much!

Hello

Probably most of those which are updates which are stuck in repetition.

guess that part of the question could be a driver which is really old or similar should not be loaded.

This exit Windows updates on (after you have access) and stop the updates of the driver to load.

I can't stop or have food options on.  I expect the updates to install.  It is said that they have installed and the next time I start there they are.

    Hi Happygrammy,

Welcome to the Windows Vista answers Forum!

This could happen if the update that you are trying to install are damaged during the process. To prevent this all the time you need to maybe uninstall the updates, and install them one at a time.

To do this, you will need to make a list updates that are the cause of the problem, then go to install update history and uninstall them manually. Then download these updates and install them in clean boot mode.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Steps to put the system in clean boot include:

1 log on to the computer using an account with administrator rights

    2. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue

    3. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)

    4. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all

Note: Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use with existing restore points system restore utility

For more information about the clean boot, follow the below given link:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    1. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    2. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    3. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart

You will need to maybe reset the Windows Update components, download the Microsoft fix - it from the link and run the wizard that automatically resets the windows update components, if it does not, I recommend that reset you manually update windows components from the link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

These steps should solve the problem, give it a try and check if you are able to perform windows updates.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Windows Update every time that I start it places for no reason

I have an iMac with bootcamp Windows 7 2007. Whenever I start windows, it says "windows is preparing to install updates". Also the annoying "Restart computer in 15 minutes to complete the updates" window will appear each time too. I have to leave my midnight opened computer during rendering, but whenever I wake him in the morning when I see he has already rebooted and automatically started with the mac partition.

Even if I can't fix this stupid update, I would like to know how to set windows as default boot drive.

    Thank you.

  • Windows Update Error 80070002. Windows configures still (probably the same) updates every time that I have shut down or restart.

Windows always configures updates while shutting down the machine and the later start. I tried all the methods described on the microsoft Web site, including the removal of the files in the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution after stopping the update service, using fixit and using the analysis tool. All in vain.

Update of Windows gives an error code 80070002. I have this problem since December 14, 2011.

Thank you for your advice. I have solved my problem. The approximate sequence of change made is:

    Remove pending.xml file.
    Rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution.

Run as administrator command prompt and type sfc/scannow, and then press ENTER.
After completion, reboot your pc and try to install the updates.
