    This problem may be caused by the Anti-Keylogger in ZoneAlarm, so you can disable this function until ZoneAlarm has published an update.

    Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

    Recovery methods:
     
    If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.
     
    To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.
     
    Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
     
    In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.
     
    Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.
     
    Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.
     
    First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.
     
    If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.
     
    If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.
     
    If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

    A general warning to help avoid this in the future:
     
    Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.
     
    Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

    I have an old system = Vista.

    To remove all the: select one and Ctrl + A will highlight all. -Delete.

    To delete a section: highlight the first one you want to remove. Scroll to last and click while holding down the SHIFT key. -Delete.

    To delete several messages that alternate: hold down the CTRL key while you click each message in order to highlight. -Delete.

    Re-sending invitations is not a characteristic of the calendar, there is no adjustment to adjust.  I want first test mode safe mode to see if the problem persists there.

    Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning

    If so, then I join you to try to create a new user and see if the problem persists there as well.

    If the question is the system wide I make a Time Machine backup and reinstall macOS.

    Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac

    There is an option to download a 'Lightning' calendar, but I prefer to return to the original schedule, which was on the mail server, when I started using it about 2 weeks ago.

    You have seen this calendar in Thunderbird? Then it's lightning. If it has been published and you did nothing in particular for work, then it is local, not online.

    If you've seen the calendar in your browser, then it will be online.

    I suggest just "Download" you or re - install Lightning and see if it was the thing you saw earlier. If it isn't, delete it, nothing is lost.

    Tools | Add - ons | Extensions of. If Lightning is listed, try it the reactivation. I expect to tell you if there is an update.

    If it is not mentioned, simply type the lightning in the search box at top right of the window modules, press return, choose from the list shown modules you.

    When I reply to an e-mail message, it is not closed automatically. So I have hundreds of open emails and to return to my Inbox, I drag with my cursor, through many of them.     I lost half a page of a response to an important email. The entire response without my intention, it has been deleted. I didn't at all other keys that the letters I was typing.

    Sometimes, the cursor goes to another part of the screen and will not move for a few seconds. Strange alternative sliders appear as a small bar gray or crossed arrows used in graphics programs. Even if I click on the mouse, they remain for about 5 seconds and then disappear on their own.

    There are two Favicons (small drop icon) in the Navigation toolbar

    First is on the address bar (where you type the Web site address)
    Second is on the search bar (when you type the keywords for the search using the selected-> default search engine is Google)

    -> click on the favorite icon (small drop down menu icon) on Firefox SearchBar-> click Manage search engines -> select all unwanted search engines and click delete -> click OK

    You don't mention what e-mail program, you use, but it's pretty well overall in Windows. Simple click on the header of a message to highlight, then Ctrl + A will highlight all. Press DELETE.
