updates to Windows (failure)

A few months ago, I installed windows 7 on my main computer, which at the time was Windows XP, now just as brilliant work until a month before when I was installing updates my computer told me to reboot for updates to be completed... I did everything I was asked, but now, it's what I encounter...

The computer ask me to unplug or turn off while downloading...

Then the computer shuts down then restarts the problem starts...

It starts to load up as being the norm, then I get "PLEASE WAIT" I get "Set current" I wait then it tells me its failure works it way to open my office then SHUTS down and is all new for a 2nd time but it finally happens to me at my counter top...

How can I stop what's happening and get all downlaods to load correctly so that my computer working again soothly? I'm basically a beginner and trying to learn myself but unfortunately my wife complains about the holes in the wall were I bang my head in frustration...

Any help would be kindly taken...

Nice look

I recently enabled Microsoft Update for my XP Media Edition 2004 after his being unavailable for a year due to corruption Trojan. The solution that worked there was rename the CATROOT2 folder and the SofwareDistribution folder in the Windows directory in the Windows > System32 directory and reboot. This solution came from the Microsoft site. After that, I was able to download and install 50 of 51 updates. A fails repeatedly: update for Windows XP (KB2686509) security. I get error code 0 x 8007005. I tried several fixes, including one designated for error 0 x 8007003 (rename file) download at download.old as well as the use of aggressive mode on Microsoft Fixit. Always fails to update. All other updates installed correctly, including a new this morning, but of course update continues offering that failed. Any ideas on how to get this installed? This is a relatively new, so I'm not sure that the problem is that it is already there, but the first failure was around 40 of the 51 when I check the history update file. Thanks for your suggestions.

    Hello

I suggest you consult the site mentioned below:

  • "Database corrupt installation" - discovered after failures repeat the installation of automatic updates of Windows

We're running out of WinXP SP3.  Apparently, we are unable to install/uninstall anything correctly.  I think it may have something to do with "a basic installation damaged."  I got this error when trying to manually install KB972581 (a security update for 2007 Microsoft Office System).  This could have been caused by running the Windows Installer cleanup utility, I didn't have problems with Office 2007.  We were informed at all by continuing to upgrade with another program issues.

We daily use Outlook 2007.  Multiple users, so we can't delete it.

Same thing with KB970895 (update of security for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2) - another failure with the description of the error "Unable to install Windows Installer MSP file".

Basically, the automatic updates of Windows always fail.  Comprehensive research of these forums, I found and ran the Microsoft FixIt! # 50202, without result.

How can I fix anything that makes things installation fails?

I had a similar problem - resolved two things actually. First make sure yu have the latest windows installer engine. Then download the package fails and run interactive mode. This will give you the 'real' error which causes the failure so that you can correct it.

In my case it was a dependency on another file system that was resolved by running sfc/scannow - it's maybe not the question you... once again, run the full installation package and also to enablehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/223300 logging to track down issues...

  • Updates to Windows 8 - "Configuration of the Windows updates, changes in restoration failure"

    Hello

Recently I finally got my laptop back from repairs after 6 weeks. Now, it is in a 'clean' State (aka factory settins).

I wanted to get to 8.1 Windows as soon as possible, but for this I need to be on the latest version of Windows 8.

So I then try to run "Windows Update" and let it install all updates recommended. He manages to download all updates,

and then he tries to configure these. About 98% or 99%, it gives the following message:

'Configuration of the Windows updates, changes back failure'

It then goes in an infinite loop constantly, he ran for hours and hours without having passed this screen.

So far, the only solution is to reset it to factory settings, which brings me to the point before that I try to update, so it is not move me.

I've tried so far, but no luck what follows:

    • http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_8-windows_update/failure-configuring-Windows-updates-reverting/16219e5c-564b-4310-9f68-c9d595bb4cbe?page=1
    • http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

None of them has worked so far.

    To be clear:

It is an OEM license. This doesn't mean no DISC, nor any ISO/Exe could work that they do not accept the product key.

Many other people have the same problem.

Please, I'm at a loss to date.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Hi all

Seems that I myself have found a potential workaround.

Install only the KB2871389 allowed me to grab the download of Windows the Windows store 8.1.

Then, I could install Windows 8.1 without a hitch and it normally seems using Windows Updater runs from there on.

It is not yet a waterproof solution to water / final of 100%, but it seems to work for me.

I hope this will help someone else with the same problem!

    Yours Sincerely,

  • Failure of the security update for Windows xp

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

, Then they have all the same numbers but automatic updates. I do not know why they do not?  Is my computer in danger? What someone knows something about it?  Can someone let me know, I would really appreciate it.  Thank you :)

Lower-right, now, I get an exclamation icon, when I click on it, it lets me know that I have updates to install, it goes through the whole procedure, but he then shows how they all failed.  Just today, I had 18 of them.  They are all updated for Windows XP security they all begin with (KB) other numbers are all different. (KB978601), (KB979683), (KB978338), (KB979309), (KB981332), (KB977816), (KB980232) Microsoft Update.

I would try reinstalling Windows Update Agent Installer first.  Here is a link to the Microsoft site that explains how to do this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949104.   Go to the section how to get the last update agent, as it is already installed.  Scroll down to the section under the information tab, called Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.    Choose the one that fits your computer (x 86, x 64, Itanium).  Run this update and follow the instructions.  Windows Update will now be reinstalled, but it's a good idea to restart at this point.  Check if your updates to install.

Otherwise, you may need to install manually by following the directions below:

    (1) Download Center to visit Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx
    (2) search for each update code that begins with the letters "KB" and followed by a set of numbers (i.e. KB979309)
    3) click on the link for the download and then click on download and run. You must accept the agreement and then click on continue.
    (4) repeat this process for each download of updates Windows could not install.
    (5) run Microsoft update again, and click Find updates.  If all goes well, it will show that you are completely patched.

It is always better to stay completely patched, as many of them are security-related.  If the solutions above do not work for you, I recommend that you run a full scan on your computer.

  • Error codes 78(f)), 80070308 and 8007000 D (failure of the installation of 12 updates in Windows 7 HP64)

No idea what to do now. I tried to select only some and even unstalling all updates and walk away with the prize, but nothing helped. I ave nothing else running while I update - except Microsoft Security Essentials, but I even tried to disable the protection in real time, just in case. I checked the current process (from all users) as well. All drivers are up-to-date and legitimate. Material is all compatible and still pretty soon, lots of storage to drive HARD to the left, etc.

Here are the updates failed, copied and pasted in the same order, if this is useful: [-Cumulative Update for Media Center for Windows 7 x 64-based Systems (KB977863), a security update for Windows 7 for x 64-based systems (KB971468), a security update for Windows 7 for x 64-based systems (KB975560), a security update for Windows 7 for x 64-based systems (KB978251)] Update for Internet Explorer 8 Compatibility mode list for Windows 7 for x 64-based systems (KB978506) update for Rights Management Services Client for Windows 7 for x 64 systems (KB979099), update for Windows 7 for x 64-based systems (KB976264), update for Windows 7 for x 64-based systems (KB976662), update for Windows 7 for x 64-based systems (KB977074) [, update for Windows 7 for x systems 64 (KB978637), update for Windows 7 for systems based on the x 64 (KB979306), games for Windows LIVE V3.2-]

There are a few updates which installed OK. Pretty well the other critical and recommended updates for Windows 7 HP64, I guess. I could list these if need be.

Ideas as a) what is the problem, and b) what can I do about it? Thanks in advance.

  • ERROR CODE 606 CAUSING FAILURE OF THE UPDATES OF WINDOWS 'IMPORTANT' 10

Help, please!  I try to install the last "10 important updates" for Windows, which I was informed automatically.  I tried 4 times in 2 days now and each of them settled due to the 'error Code 606'.  When I click on "help", he pulls up "WindowsUpdate_00000646" "WindowsUpdate_dt000" If that's any help.  Each time, it goes through all the motions, past by restarting as usual, then I get the same reminder of updates, showing "failed" on all of them.  I have not had this problem before.  I don't know what to do to get these updates installed.  I NEED HELP ASAP!  I am a user of impressive program but not at all a geek who can solve the problems that arise, and I have no one to turn to in my personal circle.

First of all try to install updates when you're disconnected from the internet.

If no joy, then try to manually download the same and install.
You can search the individual updates here:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx

He just put in the KB number and then perform a search.

If this still creates one problem another thing you can try is disable the User Account Control first download before the update manually. See: (Guided Help: settings to adjust user account control in Windows 7):

    Hello

You are able to install all other updates of Windows without any problems?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: If you receive the Windows Update 8024200d error, it may mean that an update did not finish to download or install. The System Update Readiness Tool for Windows can correct some conditions that can cause this error.  After you run the analysis tool, try to install the update.

You can download & run the system update readiness tool and check.
Description of the preparation tool system update for Windows Vista for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2

Method 2:  If this does not help, you can temporarily disable antivirus software, and then try to install the update.
    Disable the antivirus software

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 3:  If the methods above do not help, you can place the computer in a clean boot state, and then try to install the update.  Follow these steps.
