updating Win 7 home pre never returns
damaged my laptop so set up another and put my hard drive in it. crashed a lot then found it viper sw virus that was causing problems. You can buy a Microsoft Upgrade.
But to be honest, that I recommend to buy a full version of Win 7 Ultimate and do a clean install.The advantage is that you could install this without early installation of Win 7 Home premium.
For example; If you purchase an upgrade you will need to first install Home Premium and you need to improve this OS to ultimate. This can be annoying if anything goes wrong with OS and you need to install it again
If you buy a ultimate full version, then you can install this OS immediately and directly without having to install Home Premium first.PS: the drivers are the same for Home Premium and Ultimate.

I bought my computer toshiba laptop P50B11L with win8.1 pre Pro is installed and I've updated to win 10.
After doing now confirm that my version of win10 is the House.
According to Microsoft, the update would maintain the same version, but the left to have the Pro version for a House version.
I am not happy with this decision by microsoft, can someone help me?
Are you sure that your laptop has been pre-installed with Windows 8.1 Pro ?
I guess it was Windows 8.1 as mentioned on the product page of Toshiba.
With 8.1 Microsoft Windows allows the upgrade to win 10 Home as stated in the attachment

Updated until V23.0 apparently without any problem (23.0 shown on Firefox/help/in words), get the update to 23.0.1, now I install it and everything seems fine, then the next day, I still get another update query to 23.0.1. Now at least 5 iteration. Op system is Win 7 Home premium.
Hello, please try to download the full installer for firefox https://www.mozilla.org//firefox/all/ 23.0.1 and simply install on top of your current version (all your personal data - bookmarks and passwords will be stored by this procedure).

New installation of Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit - Windows Update does not work error 80072F8F
I just bought and installed WIn 7 Home Prem on a new 1 TB drive. When I try to run Windows Update I get error 80072F8F. After reviewing several days, I have now tried and failed to get anywhere:
- Checked the time date and resynch'ed against the internet several times
- checked that I can access https://partners.microsoft.com
- downloaded all certificates of a XP machine and a Vista
- Use regsvr32 to the following dll: softpub Microsoft initpki mssip32
- reinstallation of Windows 7 with nothing else
I can't rename the folder "c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution" as suggests a position as it is said always used and I can't understand what is using it.
Please note that the internet works on both IE and Firefox and I have activated Windows 7.
It's driving me crazy. How Microsoft may not get its own OS for talking to himself! Win 7 is fine for now, but it won't take long to get left behind, if I can't run updates. Can I still use XP I put up as a dual boot.
