Upgrade aspire 5600u ur13 of 6 GB to 16 GB. Anyone done this? Essential online tool said OK?
I just talk - chat line-for Acer and the tech (?) says 8 GB max. However, last year when I bought what they (Acer) said that 16 GB is max? The essential online tool scanned my system and confirmed that 16 GB max. The Crucial recommended is ram DDR3 1600 mhz, sodimm PC3-12800 CL11. Any suggestions?
Aspire AU5-610-UB12 update to 16 GB no problem... and so Crucial says it works, they GUARANTEE it, but remember that if burn you something I know that crucial step will not replace your machine... I looked at several other sites say 8 GB max. I can't find your model listed... I would like to ASK CRUCIAL if they validate memory for your system and if it burns something if they replace... when your talking about $$$ attention on the side too caucious - and remember what said Acer

I press alt + F10 at the splash screen and spend normal log at startup I tried the USB stick same result. I have a aspire 5600U all in one office and my computer knowledge is well above average was in computers for more than 15 years.

If I understand you correctly, you want to use your USB recovery drive created using Acer Recvoery restore management?

Just upgraded from 4 GB to 8 GB of Ram. It now becomes extremely hot very quickly. Has never done this before. Is that what I can do to reduce this heat.

Do you have what brand of RAM installed? Some brands will interrupt in modern Macs.
It is possible that you hit a cooling fan connector while improving the RAM. Find the system of installation/restore disks accompanying you MBP and use them to run Apple Hardware Test. Instructions here:
OS X Yosemite: use the Diagnostics of Apple or Apple Hardware Test
That will be displayed if a fan has trouble.

You will need to purchase a full commercial copy of Windows 7 and do a clean install. You cannot use a Windows XP hacked as an operating system that you are eligible for an upgrade. Make sure that there are Windows 7 drivers for the hardware of the laptop. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

32-bit to 64-bit is NOT an upgrade path.
It must be done with a clean installation using a Vista FULL 64-bit disk/license.
Buy a version of disk/license FULL Vista 64 bits of your local computer, or online store: amazon, newegg, etc.

I love my Aspire 5750 (I use to make this post), but I'd love to upgrade the DVD Blu Ray. Are there specific readers recommended out of the box, or are those I should avoid due to hardware compatibility problems? I know that I can get parts and readers about anywhere online, but I would like to know what should I look for in particular. Any help is appreciated.

I found a Blu Ray drive for your computer laptop here, but it is a company based in the United Kingdom (but they do an expedition around the world!). As it is designed for the 5750, there will be no compatibility issues. You'll need is a software to run Blu Ray movies.

After upgrading aspire v3 - 571 g UEFI, I can't access settings
After the upgrade the UEFI firmware current, when I try to access the settings BIOS ask me a password. I am absolutely sure that I did not put password (I hate BIOS passwords). Now I need to boot from a USB and I can not change the boot sequence. Any ideas? Thank you very much.
EDITED: I read the post about how Acer can help about lost or forgotten passwords ("" there are very few or even no options available from the side of the end user ""), but in this case, I created not just any password, as I said
If it were mine, I remove the battery and the back cover. Locate the CMOS coin cell. There should be a rider nearby to clear the memory of the bios password and reset to the default values. If you can't find the jumper, try to remove the cell of the room for a few hours.

I have 3 computer Aspire 5600U who noted starting with a USB 3 device plugged into the USB 3 port
He did not become a problem with constant updates of Microsoft for Windos 10 check daily all 3 computers to see if the device USB 3 must be disconnected before the reboot may end.
last 10 Microsoft Windows Upgrade installed yesterday and now, the problem seems to have resolved itself.

Hi, I am considering buying an a TB Drive (SSD) to replace the original HD 5400 cramped. I am interested in the MX 300 essential and the Samsung 850EVO, but do I SATA II or SATA III or is it important? The Samsung comes with cloning software, but most is not. I think the real replacement/installation process is without problem, but the cloning of BONE, the programs and data is another question. Also, I heard that the BIOS should be changed too. Any suggestions on a better SSD or the best products of cloning? I hear that free Macrium Reflect is good.
BIOS didn't need to be tweaked during the installation of an SSD, only windows OS (7 and more) automatically add a few settings (disabling of defragmentation is the first thing to do to not kill your SSD).
your AIO supports SATA 6 GB/s (SATA III) and there is no issue about 1 TB of storage.
on cloning, there are plenty of free software around but to be honest, I still prefer a clean install when switching to the SSD HARD drive, but I understand the galley to reinstall everything.
