Upgrade memory for HP Pavilion dv5215US

I currently have 1 GB DDR PC2700 (non - ECC) memory (2x512MB modules) in a portable old dv5215us.  Just updated to Windows 7 OS and the need to pass the limit of 2 GB of RAM for best performance.  Can I use DDR PC3200 memory (non - ECC)?   Seen previously used the HP desktop computer memory... would be, anyway?  Thank you.

Hello:

Here is the link to the plug of your PC:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00690424

You should be able to install 2 x 1 GB memory PC2700 or PC3200.

Memory of office does not fit into a laptop.

  • Upgrade memory for HP Pavilion 23 - g040xt CTO all-in-One desktop

    When I ordered my

HP Pavilion 23-g040xt CTO of all-in-One desktop PC I could only afford the version of 4 GB of Ram. Now, I want to upgrade the memory up to 16 GB. I have a few questions

    1. I noticed all this in a use SODIMM and I was wondering if I could buy any DDR3 SODIMM for this or if I have to buy a specific manufacturer?

    2. now, I have only 4 GB using 1 of the 2 memory slots. I'll be able to buy 2X8GB and use this location empty on my motherboard and run dual channel?

    3. How do the memory locations? Just pop the back of all in one PC?

    Thank you

According to the specification, this model supports up to 16 GB (2 x 8 GB), as follows:

    Dual channel memory architecture
Two DDR3 SODIMM Sockets (204 PIN)
    Supports the PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600)
    Supports 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB DDR3 SODIMM

Any brand or model of RAM memory that meets the following specifications should work on your computer. If you have 4 GB in a housing, you will need to remove it to install both 8 GB DIMMs. Yes, you just need to pop on the back.

There should be two or more screws on the back that need to be turned counterclockwise until you hear each "click" of 5-6 times. Then, take a lower corner and lift the corner. Repeat with the other bottom corner. Now, lift the... starting back down. You may also need to remove a cap on the memory locations to access.

Well, I have a brand new HP Pavilion g7-1070us Notebook with 6Gig RAM and bought two sticks of memory 4 GB for a total of 8GB. Now that I swapped the sticks, my computer says that I only have memory usable 3.48Gigs. Keep in mind, it's 64 bit wondows. No 32-bit. Well, since I knew that it couldn't be the OS, I looked online and downloaded the new BIOS for my motherboard. There is nothing to solve the problem. My computer says I don't have 1 stick of RAM in, when I clearly have two. I can't find this problem anywhere else. I searched for hours. I looked in the BIOS config and ran a few tests of memory and whatnot, and they all confirm that I only have 4Gigs of RAM. This computer is new, so I have no idea what is wrong. I even picked up the RAM at the store and he exchanged with an identical kit, but nothing seems to work. I run a:

  • Pavilion p6608f: upgrade memory for p6608f

Hello, my Pavilion p6608f came with 4 GB of RAM. I want to upgrade. By HP features, the motherboard is a MSI ms-7613 and it should support up to 16 GB of RAM (4 x 4 GB DIMMS). I bought 4 DIMM which seem to fit specifications, but the computer wouldn't POST after installation. I tried reseating the DIMMs, but no luck. My hypothesis is that the memory is not compatible.  I'm unable to find good information on the compatible memory for this computer on the site of Kingston, MSI site, or the site of HP. Saw that Crucial guarantees their recommendations, I'd go with it.  You may contact their Customer Service to see what they have to say if you are still skeptical.  I have recommended Crucial memory for years without reports of incorrect memory being received.

Here is the link for the memory upgrade info you need for your PC.

I would get the PC2-5300 (667 MHz) for optimal performance.

Here is the link to the guide of upgrade and maintenance for the Slimline 3000 series. If all goes well, that will contain the information that you need to access the memory locations.

  • Question about the upgrade memory for my Satellite M40-307

Sorry for the newbie question. But if I have 512 MB of memory for the time being, what are my upgrade options?

Do I have to buy pairs of memory? So I can or buy 2 x 1 GB = 2 GB, or 2 x 512 MB = 1 GB + 512 existing. Or can I say just buy a single 512 MB or 1 GB chip?

Since no one wants to answer:
    1. check if your laptop supports Dual Channel Ram (it should be, but just see the manual to be sure)
    2. knowledge of what type of RAM you have. This will add or remove a possibility of upgrade

The thing with Dual Channel is, that you have the best performance if you use 2 RAM of the same type (really of the same type: company, size...)
    you could:
    3. Add a 512 MB of RAM of the same type you have
3 b. buy 2 pieces of new RAM of the same type (1 GB + 1 GB, or 2 + 2 GB) and do not forget that your laptop supports this quantity (once again: manual to check)

You will also find in the manual, if your computer supports DDR or same DDR2 RAM (faster)

If you have lost your manual, you can download it here on the toshiba Web page

    I hope I could help a little.

I tried to install the memory standard DDR2-533 (I install 2 x 1 GB). However, when I tried to reboot the computer with the new memory of the hard drive does not recognize the new memory and I had to involve someone with more expertise than me IT. After that I tried to replace the original memory in the computer the hard drive also failed to recognize that and laptop computer were to restore to factory settings before windows would load again.

  • Upgrade memory for Tecra A5

Hello, if anyone can help, I would be very grateful.

I have a Tecra A5 that I bought a few years ago and recently it has become quite slow. On the suggestion of a colleague, I rebooted the machine, remove a lot of unused programs and it seems to have improved.

However, I would like to upgrade the RAM. Currently, the task manager tells me I have 1 GB of available, and I read that the Tecra A5 can handle 2 GB, which seems likely to boost performance.

However, looking at the manual and at the bottom of the laptop, it only seems to be a slot to expand memory. Looking at websites selling RAM upgrades, there only seems to be 128, 256, 512 and 1024 MB memory upgrades.

Here's the question. Should I buy two memory upgrades 1 GB (and if so, where did I put the other?)

I have a feeling that when I bought the laptop, the seller has provided two upgrades memory of 512 MB.

Thanks for any advice on this.

You are right. Your Tecra can be upgraded up to 2 GB. Compatible RAM module has PA3313U-2M1G part number. Are you a location is available downstairs?
This old Tecra is unknown to me, but what I do know, is that all laptops with a RAM slot at the bottom have an another slot memory under the keyboard.

If you want to have full access to this slot machine, you must remove the keyboard.

  • upgrade memory for envy quad 15 t-j100

I'm lookin to upgrade the memory of my laptop and apologies if this has already been resolved, I tried to look through the forum.  I have an Envy 15 t-j100 Quad with the 4700mq processor.  The vehicle currently has a single 8 GB 1600 mhz, cl11, 1.35v sitck.  I thought to upgrade to 16 gb 1866 MHz cl10, 1.35v.  Here is a link  That, or 16 GB 1600 mhz cl9, 1.135v.  The 2nd link

My main question is: this upgrade would be compatible?

It would be the first time that I am trying to upgrade the memory and never changed anything about it either in the bios before (just learned about xmp profiles the other day).  It is my understanding that the bios are locked anyway to prevent any form of manipulation of xmp.  Would it cause problems if mhz or case values are different from the memory of the stock?  And which expect the extent of performance without being able to access the xmp profile settings?

Thank you, and other suggestions are very appreciated.

Auto-detect and configure the BIOS but within the limits of the system. Yes, you're understanding just what I say. Even if you put the faster memory or lower latency, if it works at all downclock motherboard will it. What you put in, install identical modules. You will get on a 10% increase the speed of im with dual channel memory and you have only two channels if you have 2 identical bars. So if you add another gig DDR3-1600 8 SO-DIMM you will speed up memory and more access to get more memory for multitasking, etc.. This is the page for Kingston:

    http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/search/Default.aspx?DeviceType=3&Mfr=HEW&Line=ENVY%20Notebook&Model=86577&Description=Kingston_System_Specific_Memory_for_HEW_ENVY_Notebook_HP/Compaq_-_ENVY_Notebook_15t-j100

You have an SSD drive? I see that the system can come with a 5400 RPM or hybrid disk 5400 RPM and that is where the bottleneck. If you install an SSD you will think that you have upgraded the CPU and memory and died and ascended to heaven. If you need help with this post back. It is not cheap but you looked already expensive memory.
