I got my ThinkPad Tablet 2, who ordered the 64 GB version, precisely because I new that I got some programs that require a lot of space for resources.

Upon receipt, I saw the list of materials that referenced a USB has been provided for 32 GB units. Surprisingly, the units of 64 GB loading this information in ram effectively denying what should have been a considerable amount of memory live.

Anyway is to unload files to a memory stick system recovery in order to free the RAM?

I think I found a way. This creates a recovery USB disk.

    1. tap search in the bar of charms.

    2. Type "Recovery" and then press on to find settings

    3. click on 'create a disc of Recvovery '.

    4. follow the steps in this wizard

    5. in the end, it will give you the option to delete the recovery section on the hard disk to free up space now that it is saved to USB.

  • Upgrade memory ThinkPad G40

    Hello

I hope this is the right place to ask some Q on the IBM thinkpad G40... My son bought a second hand G40 a few years back. He had / has only 256 MB of memory. Now I want to improve the memory and I scanned the relevant web pages of Lenovo. Apparently the memory should be PC2100 or PC2700 may be due to the availability of PC2100? (DDR)

Now a run on this laptop cpu - z indicates the memory is PC2300 (142 Mhz), so what gives? This was put in to be the good side or?

and an extra Q... memory modules can be mixed? IE add a 512 MB PC2100 sodimm for 768 M? or I have to delete the original 256M and go for 2 x 512M?

    TIA

    Imbsysop

You can certainly plug 1 additional GB. And what a difference it will make...

  • Upgrading memory on the NB550D - 11 d - 4 GB of RAM are possible

To anyone who thinks of a memory upgrade on the NB550D:

The NB550D supports up to 4 GB of memory, not only 2 GB as mentioned by Toshiba in their specifications.
Upgrade memory to 2 GB is _only limited_ by the pre installed Windows 7 Starter OS, and not by the netbook itself.

I use Linux Mint 11 Katya, 64-bit and my system works perfectly well with a 4 GB ram module. If you want to use the full support for 4 GB ram, get rid of the Win 7 Starter operating system.

Specifications for more memory ram volume are DDR3 1333 MHz PC3-10600 SO-Dimm. I chose a 4 GB of Corsair module, because of the guarantee of 30 years of offers from Corsair.

It took me a while to find this out hope, that this will be a help to all those who are just as secure as I was how to upgrade memory NB550D. Good luck. (o).

    Thanks for the comments

Also it of important to mention than the 32-bit systems (not serious if its Linux or Windows) would recognize only 3.2 GB since it is a limitation of 32-bit
So to use all of the 4 GB RAM 64-bit system is required.

  • Upgrade memory (over TP. R40e) problem

    Hello!

I tried to increase the RAM on my ThinkPad R40e to 768 MB (now it has 256 MB) with module of 512 MB but computer recognized only half of the new memory module capacity.

Module has 512 MB DDR400 (new) and it was made by "takeMS".

    (CL 3, 2.5 V, 4 'chips' on each side a - 8 to the total/2 sides)

Since it was of DDR400 (PC 3200), this memory downgraded successfully to DDR266 (PC 2100) but only half was recognized - 256 MB!

    So, my questions are:

    1. is it possible to upgrade memory to 768 MB (256 + 512) with different types - DDR266 and DDR400

(a few MB less because it has an integrated graphics card)?

    2. what brand/type of 512 MB of RAM can I use for this model of ThinkPad R40e?

(according to IBM/Lenovo maximum capacity is 1 GB of RAM - 2 x 512 MB)

Computer: IBM ThinkPad R40e, model: 2684 (celeron 2.2 GHz, RAM: 256 MB DDR 266, HARD drive: 30 GB, combo)

    Thank you!

PS Sorry if my English is bad.

    I found a solution.

I upgraded the memory on my ThinkPad R40e!

    Here is the solution:

    1. I have upgraded the BIOS to the latest version.

(Before update BIOS it is necessary to check the Embedded Controller Progam version and update to the latest version before upgrading the BIOS)

All the drivers and software for R40 and R40e are here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-46024.html

    2. I bought 512 MB DDR RAM PC3200 - 400 Mhz (in my case, the memory is Kingston ValueRam: KVR400X64SC3A/512).

This ThinkPad uses PC2100 and PC2700 memory I bought is backward compatible (and cheaper)

It is important that this computer will only recognize memory that has 4 chips on each side!

I hope this can be useful to someone!

    Good bye

    M.

P.S. Thank you George 'shark' 66 (within my means country word "gear" - shark) for your help and your messages!

Well, I think that it s is not possible.
The Satellite Pro A200 supports maximum 2 GB of RAM (2 x 1 GB), then you will not be able to use 2 x 2 GB modules.

  • Upgrade memory Tecra A7

I notice any performance gain (in WinXP Pro) if I put the sticks of DDR2-667 memory instead of DDR2-533 modules standard in my Tecra A7-202? I've already upgraded memory in my notebook from 512 MB to 1 GB (I added the second module of 512 MB - DDR2-533), but now I am considering upgrading to 2x1GB, possibly in DDR2-667.

    Hello

Are you sure that the DDR2-667 memory modules are compatible?
To my knowledge the Tecra A7 supports only DDR2-533 modules.
    These are 200-pin SODIMM DDR2 PC2-4200, CL = 4, NON - ECC, DDR2-533 modules

But to tell the truth I put t think you will feel a performance increase with the help of the DDR2-667 modules.

Is it possible to upgrade memory on my module one_ _For 1024Mo book (something like that - SO - DIMM DDR 1024 Mb PC2100 (266 Mhz) Kingston)?

Sorry for my English is not my mother tongue :).

You can upgrade the memory on this laptop to max 1 GB.
So I think you can use a module 200-Pin, 1 GB PC2100 slot (266 MHz) DDR SODIMM in one.

  • ThinkPad Tablet 2 set button pen

Hey all, I have ThinkPad Tablet 2 with the Wacom digitizer and an active stylus. The stylus a button on the side which the manual says is for screenshot. I would like to configure this button to be identical to a right mouse click on the button (I'm not a fan of the tap water then hold list drop-down functionality of the right mouse button trigger). To make this I:

    -Search 'calibrate' in Win10

-went to "calibrate the screen for pen or press ENTER.

-On the dialog box opened, I clicked on the tab 'other '.

-J' clicked on the link "Go to Pen and Touch" under "configure your pen and tap Settings in pen and touch.

-An open windows error dialog box that says:

"Tablet and pen settings is not available. For assistance, contact the manufacturer of your tablet PC. (error = 0). »

So here I am and here are my questions: why these settings are not available? Is there another way to configure the associated stylus button action? Thank you!

Problem solved. I uninstalled Windows 10 and reinstalled and the pen settings are now available and more screen auto-rotation, now working as well. I find this strange because I makes no other changes to the Tablet and I was running any other software before, during and after my first upgrade of Windows 10. I guess an update has been published or there was a quirk in my initial upgrade of Win10. In any case, all's well that ends well

  • Issue of ThinkPad tablet 2 Factory Reset reinstall Windows

Please help me. I have problems to reinstalling windows on my thinkpad Tablet 2. I have a long enough thread explaining my problem here, http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/lenovo-ibm/62633-thinkpad-tablet-2-factory-reset-reinstall-windows.h... if someone could help me I would be very grateful. I'll copy and paste the thread here, if I have to, but it's just easier to copy the link.

    Fastest salvation,

I had similar problems to you with a number of our TPT2s. They are really picky when it comes to boot from an external support. Here's how I got mine to (possibly) regularly start on external media. However, one thing to note is that, in order to recover Windows 8 on it, you're either going to need disk recovery Lenovo or an installation of Windows 8 of your own disc. I have no idea if the drivers listed on the Lenovo site will work with anything as old as XP, although I remember some Windows 7 see so if you have a Win7 disc you might try that.

    1. disable the Secure Boot UEFI in the BIOS. [BIOS |] SECURITY | SECURE BOOT | [* Change the secure startup flag ' disabled]

2 get some kind of separator/hub USB so that you can plug your external DVD drive with a keyboard (Microsoft still require you to "push any key to boot from CD" and touch the screen does not count).

    3. with the drive and the keyboard is connected, set the boot order in the BIOS so that the CD/DVD drive is the first boot option. I also push the Windows boot manager at the bottom of the list if it is there. Do, but I'm a superstitious Guy and save the changes.

    4. as long as the DVD drive has adequate power (need an external power supply. He cannot draw enough power from the USB port of the tablet to run) and you have a Windows disc 8/7 in the drive, you should now receive the message "press any key to boot from the CD-ROM. Press a button and it should... Finally... it takes much longer than any normal device... starting in the installation menu.

Each step of this lasts longer than you expect. For example, it takes an age for the message "Press any key" is displayed. It just sits there with a black screen and the DVD blowing away.

That's how I got mine to work in any case, best of second chance.

You have modules of 2 x 4 GB or 8 GB in total by these specifications:

    Plug

This is the service manual for your laptop:

    Manual

See p. 104. You CAN install modules of concert up to 2 x 8 for a total of 16 concerts, but if you follow along in the maintenance manual, you will see that the procedure will require removal of the motherboard, a very delicate piece of electronics surgery. If you are a technician experienced laptop, very well. Buy 2 of them:

Module of memory of 8 GB 670034-005

Put aside an hour or two in a quiet place with some free space of horizontal surface and do the upgrade. Otherwise, you have to pay someone to do it. Most of the people cannot benefit from the upgrade from 8 GB to 16, but some can. Therefore, determine if it is worth the serious money and time it will take.
