Hello

all you need to do is

E:

cd apex

sqlplus / as sysdba

@apxldimg e:

Note: you don't need to reconfigure the EPG, but you need load the images into the EPG. This is done by calling @apxldimg. These scripts accepts the path to the installation files WITHOUT «apex» top It assumes that your folder is named "apex" and adds that the path that you pass to the script.

All right?

Peter

    Hi Chris,

    you might have run into the bug #16769040. I already asked David Peake to update the 4.2.2 known issues with an explanation. In short, install the patch group may lead to an inconsistency with an instance parameter (INSTANCE_ID) and cookies from generator, which translates into a missing Developer toolbar. If this is the problem on your instance, it can be corrected by running (as a SYS):

    begin
        apex_040200.wwv_flow_security.set_internal_cookie_name;
        commit;
    end;

  • How to upgrade the APEX version on 10gXE

    I'm working on a database of 10gXE (express edition Release 2) and I see that APEX (application specific) different (certainly seems more) than to the APEX. 4.1 which should be the last (and I tested on turbidity to http://apex.oracle.com/i/index.html).
    My question is this: is it possible to upgrade the APEX version on my 10gXE of the database?
    Http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/overview/index.html, I read that for the installation I have do I run the installation script Application Express, apexins.sql. It works for the upgrade as well, or not? I have only to upgrade the version and not completely install APEX

  • Where are the Instructions to upgrade the ApEx 3.0.1.00.08 to 3.1.2?

    I had so many problems that these last several weeks installing Oracle 11 g on a new server. I had to completely uninstall Oracle database at least four times for various reasons. More recently, I forgot to configure the embedded PL/SQL gateway before starting to upgrade the ApEx 3.0.1.00.08 to 3.1.2. Now, I don't remember where I got the paper that I used a few weeks ago when I have successfully (I think) upgraded ApEx, which was before I accidentally applied the patch database from 32 bit to my 64-bit database.

    Now the document that I look at you, http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/install.310/e10496/toc.htm, let me think I'm install instead of upgrade.

    Moreover, although section 1.2 of which the above referenced document talks about the upgrade from a previous version of ApEx it specifically says that "next in this guide installation scenarios upgrades your Oracle Application Express to version 3.0 instance and creates objects of database 3.0 Oracle Application Express in a new schema and migrates the metadata of the application of the new version." Really? I mean really? The document claims to be for ApEx 3.1.2. So why does say that it will upgrade your Oracle Application Express instance only to version 3.0?

    Is it reality or should I be looking for another document?

    Thank you
    Gregory

    PS It has been a difficult month October not off to a very good start.

    Gregory,

    I think you have the right document. He mentions 3.0 incorrectly instead you cited - that should tell 3.1. When you install the product, and it detects that you have an earlier version, it will do a upgrade operation, copy all your previous data in the new scheme of 3.1.

    Srini - the version of the fix and the document is only to patch an existing version of 3.1 to 3.1.2.

    GODIS-Tei

    Hi Godis-Tei,

    It is easy to explain.

    (1) I don't know what are the instructions you follow, but it seems to suggest that you create a separate tablespace for APEX.  Not a bad suggestion, but in your case, since you are new, you should be able to simply use the existing SYSAUX tablespace.

    (2) you are prompted for an additional argument because you have not specified all necessary parameter values when calling apexins.sql.  I suggest that you run again, and with the following arguments:

    sysaux sysaux @apexins is temp

    That's all!  Good luck.

  • upgrade to 12 c causing problems with APEX 4.2.5

    Hey everyone, our dba updated our database this past weekend at 12 c.  Today, we have problems with one of our more complex pages.  Here's our software configuration where after upgrade:

    APEX: Application Express 4.2.5.00.08

    Database: Oracle Database Enterprise Edition Release 12.1.0.2.0 - 64 bit Production 12 c

    The page in question has dynamic actions which fire when a user clicks a button.  The action has 3 processes related to it.  The first is javascript that runs that changes some css classes.  That seems to work.  The second is supposed to be executing pl/sql code (with a dynamic process page element).  This does not appear be to fire.  I watched with firebug and chrome dev tools, but it seems that no ajax call is sent when I click on the button.

    The page seems to generate exceptions in the scenes.  I see the following in newspapers several times on the page.

    ORA-20987: APEX - ORA-00001: unique constraint (APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_COLLECTIONS_UK) violated

    Unfortunately, I can't determine if what is happening on the loading of the page or under dynamic actions.  Apparently not loading the linked page cause I can't recreate it all by refreshing the page.  But I don't see how it could be created by the dynamic action since they don't seem to be calling the server either.  (no ajax call I see)

    Does anyone know of none known between 4.2.5 and 12 c?  Everything worked well Fri/Sat, so the upgrade must be the cause.

    Thank you!

    It looks like given the scope of the implemented dynamic actions in dynamic instead of static electricity was the problem.  Their transition to static seems to have fixed everything.  Not sure if it "just worked" under the previous version and 12 c was somehow more special or if the parameter got reversed somehow in the process, but it was certainly before.

    Well.  I'll consider it fixed!

    Hi Patrick

    There is no such thing as no. d:\apex\images. I did apex5 folder on the D drive.

    So, how do you load images in XDB and the apex_epg_config.sql to work properly?

    No need to create the folder anywhere, not extracted from the apex_5.0.zip to the D drive. The actual path would be D:\apex\images.

    The apex_epg_config.sql requires the path where the apex_5.0.zip has been extracted and that will be the D drive.

    On the command line go to the D:\apex and connect to the SYS user with SYSDBA privilege. Then type the following command:

    SQL> @apex_epg_config.sql D:

    The apex_epg_config.sql script configures the EPG and load installable images from APEX to XDB.

    I hope this helps!

    Kind regards

    Kiran
