'Upgrade' of Photos?

When it goes into pictures for iPhotos for Mac mac I have lost all my individual photo comments. Is there anyway to restore or return to iPhotos still with my comments?

Photos isn't an upgrade to iPhoto (albeit on a much, much much better), it's a new program and different, with a learning curve as the all-new program

What are your comments calls? There are titles of the photos, descriptions, and keywords - location and all those who migrate from iPhoto for pictures - Photos you must allow their view in the view menu == > metadata check those you want to see

How metadata is migrated are described here the details of how Photos manages migrating from iPhoto

Ever photos first? It should have been included when you first update of Yosemite and now El Capitan. I know that iPhotos updates get a message like that, but I didn't know the Photos app with a message with it.

  • El Capitan Upgrade - not enough of space for the upgrade to Photos

HI guys.  I just upgraded my MB of 2013 at El Capitan Air, and I'm having an issue update to iPhoto to Photos.  We have the iPhoto on an external hard drive library.  When I try to update library it tells me that there is not enough space.  Of course, the obvious answer, and one that I've read here, is to get a bigger external drive.  But before I spend the $$ to do this, I want to make sure that you understand how the upgrade.  The hard drive on my Mac itself is fairly complete, so if he tries to use somehow * that * as space time to do the upgrade, it won't work even with the biggest external drive.  However, if she only cares about the space on the disk where the iPhoto library sits, a new external drive is the fix.

Anyone know how it works?  Someone got experience with success the upgrade for the Photos on an external drive when you are main internal drive is full?

    Thanks for your help!

  • Upgrade to Photos

    Hello

I have a few iPhotos library on my computer. When I opened (the new) pictures how can I convert old libraries to the newer format? In addition, can I remove old libraries of iPhotos? In other words, all the pictures are transferred to these new libraries of Photos? I want to avoid duplication.

    Thank you!

There are two ways to do this, but the easiest is to open each of the Finder iPhoto library. Photos will be open as soon as do this and he will ask you to update the libraries, so let it do the work. You must do this for each library you want to upgrade for the Photos.

Note that the Photos will leave old unmodified iPhoto libraries. If you think that you will not yet have iPhoto, you can remove them safely, because the Photos will not use these libraries again. You can also remove the iPhoto application if you have.

  • After upgrade of photo of El Capitan stream ceased to import to iPhoto

I upgraded to El Capitan, but after reading a lot of discussions, decided to stay with iPhoto instead to use the Photo. Have not yet opened photo. But now notice that photos taken with my iPhone no longer come in the steam of the Photo in iPhoto on my iMac. Preferences still show Photo Stream and Auto Import are checked. On my iPhone, however, in the settings > iCloud > Photos is on, but iPhoto is not displayed. Could this be the problem? Possible that iCloud is Photo Streaming pictures now instead of iPhoto?

Or is it something else in the upgrade to El Capitan?

    Thank you.

Disable the photo stream in the system/iCloud preferences window

and in the iCloud iPhoto preferences window.

Reboot and reactivate the two respectively. It helps to start photo stream.

  • Safe to remove iPhoto Library after upgrade to Photos

If I understand correctly, when I started using Photos, it improved my old iPhoto library and created a new library of Photos. Basically, it is now a duplicate of the iPhoto library, correct? I am terribly insufficient disk and wanted to delete the old iPhotos library but I want to assure you that this won't make me lose a photo at this point! I use Yosemite but will improve soon as soon as I have enough recovered disk space...

    Thanks much for any help!

    Jacki

Yes, if you're absolutely sure you don't need it, then you can delete it. But you won't get back as much space as you think. The two libraries share the same original files, so most of the space will not be recovered.

How much space do you have?

  • __lost my photo of microsoft program when I tried to download the upgrade essentials - error loading C\program can windows live \photo gallery\WLXphoto Gallery\WLXPhotoViewer.dll

Original title: __lost my microsoft photo program when I tried to download the upgrade to essentials

I tried to download the new update essentials download and three quarters of the way through, he stopped.
The download was already about this. He said then; "put everything back as it was" when he did. I have
lost my photo program. It now gives you a nag screen which keeps comeing like:

    Error loading C\program can windows live \photo gallery\WLXphoto Gallery\
    WLXPhotoViewer.dll

The system cannot find message for message number 0 X %1 in the message file

    0 x %2

In addition, whenever I boot, the screen shows: "ready to download microsoft essentials" restoration is not
    the ride.

After starting, the system leaves me alone until I try to open a j - peg or some file im trying to open.
then the cycle starts again. further investigation, saying that I lost a dll.

I tried to find microsoft photo viewer download to try to repair the photo of microsoft program and concluded that the
only way I can do that is by downloading the essential upgrade download because it is attached to it.
In order to accept the upgrade, the photo program should probably be repaired, as a thought as microsoft solve this Center says there is no problem. all other articles on the net is also not related or doesnot show how to fix the missing dll if it is the problem.

In addition to the steps proposed by Ajay, you could try and download and reinstall all Windows Live Photo Gallery 2011.

  • Microsoft should update Windows Media Player to play all kinds of videos and upgrade the Windows Photo Viewer to open all types of photos

Original title: microsoft should spend there windows media player that can play any type of vedio.it will traditionally use media player to download other players instead.

Microsoft should there be upgraded windows media player that can play any type of vedio.it will traditionally use media player to download other players instead. and also upgrad windows photo viewer to open all types of photos...

The latest version of Windows Media Player that could open almost any multimedia file was version 6.4. Starting from this version, Microsoft have not been allowed to allow WMP to play almost any type of media file, and they were taken to court top.

That's why Microsoft does not now permit. Apparently, the decisions of the Court are there to give other media players, including Apple stuff, a foothold in the market. I don't think Microsoft 3rd party codecs use same lawyer in case they have trouble.

  • Photos - removal of a photo App question

I'm about to finally upgrade iPhoto Photos on our mid 2010 MacBook Pro. My intention is to keep a copy of the complete resolution of each photograph on our MacBook Pro by enabling the option 'Download this Mac originals '. I think reading on the Photos all of my photos & videos will be synchronized between my MacBook, iPhone and iPad Pro if I select to use iCloud Photo library functionality and that if I delete a photo on my iPad, for example, it will remove this photo in iCloud and so on all my devices connected. My question is the original photograph display full resolution will also be deleted on the MacBook Pro? Reason for the request is I wish I could use my iPad Pro through my entire photo library and bring order to the top (remove bad photographs, etc.), but if these photographs I remove in iCloud by using my iPad remain on my MacBook Pro so I'll have to do it again on my MacBook Pro... so I would be wasting my time to do using my iPad. Thanks for any advice.

Finally recommend the Mac OS to Sierra de El Captain upgrade before upgradingto the Photos app?

    Thank you

    Brian

Yes, I understand form everywhere Deleting removes everything for everyone but I haven't checked it - Léonie done much more work on his iPad and may have checked this

As for the upgrade - I see no reason to do it in two steps - I just back up and go to Sierra then start leaning Phtops (this is a new program with a learning curve and new workflow - if you think of it like an iPhoto update you will be frustrated because he's not - is a completely new application)

  • iPhoto to the Migration of the Photo

I recently spent hours doing several photo books in iPhoto 6.0.6 v. (322).  When I tried to buy the books and received their approval, I received the following message: "the possibility of ordering books, cards, calendars and prints is no longer supported in this version.  Upgrade for OS X to order Photos. »

Is it possible to export and save the photo books before you migrate to pictures?  I'm afraid I'll lose the books pictures during the migration process.

    Thank you!

The books are simply database entries in iPhoto - you can't save them separate from the entire library 9and that you should never go without a good current backup

Unless something goes wrong, you will not lose the books or else by the upgrade to Photos – however photo books are often much different than iPhoto books and you may not be satisfied with what is available after the upgrade - backup and upgrade, and if you don't like not the results that you can order atPrestoPhoto iPhoto books

  • Photos will not recognize photos when uploading to a website (Wordpress, FB, etc..)

After that the updated Photos to level, I can no longer Upload Photos on my Wordpress site.

I click on "select files".  This brings me to a Finder window.  In the left sidebar, the "Photos" application is available and in the section "media".  When I click on the Photos, it brings up the window of the Photo Finder, but out of the 7 k + photos on my computer, it shows only 19 photos.  No mas, no less.  He can't access all the other photos, and each drop-down list only displays those same 19 photos.

My only job is about to copy each individual photo on my desktop and access it from there.  It is tedious and unsustainable for something that worked perfectly before the 'upgrade' to 'Photos '.

I took my computer in the Apple store and I got that the problem was "Wow!"  We have no idea of what's going on! "They have updated my system (at the time) with zero advantage.

  • Photos app, download more pictures I have in my library

I'm looking for help.  I just (painfully, because of my slow internet) downloaded about 40 photos from my iPad in iCloud photos.  Once home, I made some basic changes, on the iMac and should have to wait for a download more.  Of course, at the beginning he said "Uploading 13 Items".  Unfortunately, after a few minutes, this changed to "Download 6380 Items" (and the progress bar doesn't seem to be anywhere to go fast).  What is strange, it is that I have 5346 pictures in my library and have nothing in the Album Trash.  I tried to repair the database of Photos (launch with Option and command held down) - the same thing happens.  My other devices and the iCloud Web site all show photos of 5346 I expect, just, without the last few changes.  Any help would be appreciated - especially like 5000 photos in my library, when I "upgraded" to Photos in Aperture took 3 weeks to download!

I tried to repair the database of Photos (launch with Option and command held down) - the same thing happens.

Be frugal with repair. Whenever you repair library, transfer it to iCloud will start again.

What is strange, it is that I have 5346 pictures in my library and have nothing in the Album Trash.

You have videos in addition to the photos? These will be displayed as "components" when downloading.

While using Aperture, have you they rejected pictures?  Rejected photos will be hidden in the pictures and do not present in the photo display. Have you checked the hidden album?

Also, did you shoot RAW and JPEG pairs? They will be stacked in Photos and account like a photo, but when the download will be counted as two.

  • Can I go back to the old operating system after upgrade to el Capitan?

I have a MacBook Air and recently updated (?) for Os X El Capitan. Now, I can't use my Photoshop elements 11. Is there a solution? If this is not the case, can I go back to what I had before El Capitan?

    Hi, grumpy :)

This isn't what you want to read but it is a recommended to ensure that applications you must have will launch on an updated operating system.

I do not use the product, but you may need to upgrade your Photo shop elements. Version 14 seems to work on Capitan:

    https://www.Adobe.com/products/Photoshop-elements/buying-guide.html

You must decide if it's worth the cost of upgrade or use an older OS X, considering that a new OS X (Sierra) will be released at some point.

Someone else here can advise you how to restore if that's your decision.
