Upgrade problem, audio, graphics card.

Hello my post of punch as a beginner.

I have a problem after installation of an ATI graphics card in a

HP Core 2 Duo DC5800SFF clocked at 2.66 Ghz/1 GB / 250 GB / Combo / Vista Business PC.

When the graphics card that supports support VGA / DVI / HDMI is instaled it cut my advice on audio completely with no other audio options in the sound settings, can we surggest a fix for this problem, any help would be appreciated, currently using Vista operating system, I also use Linux which has no problems with this graphics card.

Thanks to the community.

Hello:

Yes, the solution is very easy.

Why it happened...

Since your video card has an HDMI output port, it means that the video card also has an onboard audio chip for HDMI.

So... not done your PC thinks that you have installed a video card, but he also thinks that you have installed a sound card and disabled both the onboard video integrated audio system.

When you have no audio card module, there is no audio setting in BIOS.

But there is now.  There is an audio embedded in the Advanced menu, on board the aircraft.

You will find that the integrated audio setting is disabled. Change the setting to "Enabled". Save the setting it by hitting the F10 key and again when you go out (save the changes and exit).

After reboot and return to Windows, you'll get your on-board audio back.

    -Thanks in advance.

He may have a problem, as indicated in the specifications is has the Intel UMA video that would be the worst choice of graphics of today, you can get to the game.

When you use a laptop for games, you always want to get a discrete graphics solution that uses its own memory first before using system memory.

You just have to try and see what happens.

    Hi @zumzo ,

I understand that you have installed the driver and it works fine.  When you checked the diagnostics you became confused because it says graphic R5 but you R7.

According to the specifications of your laptop you have AMD Quad - Core A8 - 6410 APU with graphics Radeon R5 (2 GHz, 2 MB cache).

Here is a link to the 17-f002sm HP Pavilion Notebook product specifications to confirm this information. I hope that this eliminates any confusion.

  • Problem of graphics card on Satellite P20 552 & Qosmio G10

    Hallo,

    I have two 17-inch monitors computers laptop Toshiba as desktop replacement: 1 x Satellite P20 552 & 1 x Qosmio G10.
Both are dead graphics card problem.
The conclusion of my research on the WEB, it's the nVidia FX Go5700 card seems to be the weak point of these laptops.

On the Satellite Map dies slowly: during startup Toshiba logo disappeared but WinXP logo was very good load, then WinXP loaded with the screen not refreshing and the problem of synchronization, etc..
The Qosmio died suddenly: activities on the hard drive I guess load WinXP, but black screen (internal and external)!

I know that, unlike the desktop computer, the graphics processor is not a separate entity; It is built into the motherboard. My questions are:

    (1) who should be blamed, Toshiba or Nvidia?
    (2) how to prevent premature rupture of the card/motherboard?
    (3) the card/motherboard could be repaired?

    Hallo

I have red Satellite P20 304 and it still works well. Maybe you can offer this story to someone else, but I can say that Satellite P20 is great for laptop. I like it. Old, but still has an attractive design.
If you have no luck I can understand it but to talk in general and write about weakness is for me nothing more than absurd.

Nice questions here especially one. :)
1 - to blame someone will help any. Try to get the replacement and get it working again.
    2. There is nothing you can do. All you can do is to take care of the use of the laptop and do not overheat.
    3. as far as I know that something like this is not possible. In this case the motherboard will be replaced.

What you can do is to check eBay from time to time. You may be lucky and you can buy used motherboard for a good price and exchange it.

  • Can satellite M40-231 - I upgrade the GPU (graphics card)?

    Hi all

My Satellite M40-231 has an ATI Mobility Radeon X 600 SE and I would like to upgrade to deal with the demands of today's games, but also a new HARD drive, but the latter, I think that I can go as far as the 120 GB HARD drive.

    SUGESTIONS are welcome.

    TKS

Sorry, buddy, but this is not possible!
There are several discussions about upgrading the GPU on mobile phones and all the threads said the same thing that's not possible.

The point is that most graphic cards chips are outside the motherboard and cannot be deleted.
You must understand that technology for portable computers is not the same thing as the technology of desktop PCs and more upgrades are not possible.

Which could be upgraded are the memory modules and HARD drive.

    See you soon

  • Problem with graphics card

Hello!. I have a problem with my laptop. So I know that when I bought my laptop it has an AMD HD 3450 graphics card but in dx diag, it shows that I hava a Mobile Intel (r) 4 Series Express Chipset Family and I don't know why. Could you please tell me why it doesen't recognize the graph of amd or at least if intel is better than amd, and in this case can you tell me the model intel please.

Answer as soon as possible. Thank you!

    Hello @CrazyWolf ,

To get your question more exposure I suggest you post in the trade forums since it is a commercial product. You can do to commercial Forums.

Even if it is a Commercial, Switchable Graphics function product allows you to switch between the use of the graphics card Intel and a discrete graphics like AMD controller in a computer. For example, you can switch between the battery life improved graphics Intel when running on laptop battery power and performance capabilities of the graphics controller while the laptop is plugged into current alternative. Your laptop automatically goes to the Intel graphics card if the computer switches to battery power, or he can pass to the discrete graphics if the computer is plugged into current alternative. Some computers use third-party software to perform the switch.

I hope that would explain it.

    Thank you.

  • HP Pavilion 500-164: the upgrade of the graphics card and power supply on a HP Pavilion 500-164

I'll be upgrading my HP pavilions integrated HD graphics 8570 D a STRIX ASUS GeForce GTX overclocked 2 GB DDR5 128 - bit DisplayPort HDMI 1 750TI. 4 a/DVI-I graphics card. With that I also improve my diet to a Thermaltake TR2 500W 240 pins power power TR-500. I was wondering if it of ok to do on the computer and will not damage it. It is extra steps when I install these. Initially, I got the PC with windows 8 but have upgraded to windows 10.

    Hello

If the ASUS 750 TI requires a 6-pin auxiliary power connector and your computer is running a version of HP 8 BIOS then you should be OK.  Open your PC and measure to make sure that graphics card fits.  In addition, open the command RUN and enter: MSINFO32

Your computer is running a version of HP 8 BIOS?  If so, and if it is possible to install the graphics card then go ahead. Find out what the return policy is before you buy.

Thanks for posting on the forum.

  • Want to Phoenix 810-330qe: upgrade, update necessary graphics card power supply?

I'm a Phoenix 810 - 330qe, currently equipped with the stock Nividia GTX 745. I bought a graphics card GTX 970 upgrade for better gameplay and use of possible VR helmet. I have not yet installed, but wonder if my power supply must be upgraded to handle it all. If so, will what power take?

The new card is spec'd to draw 145W and recommend a power of 500W. The 745 GTX is spec'd respectively 55W and 300W. The current stock PSU is rated at 500W, but do not know if that pushes its limit. The only other setting I had installed an SSD alongside that of stock.

    Help suggestions, thank you.

I would upgrade the PSU, considering that you've also added an SSD.

Take a look at the Corsair Builder supply.

  • Satellite L20-101: problem of graphics card if I play games

I have a strange problem with graphics. Generally, all right, but I have problems with several games. Usually I'm not a gamer, but sometimes I like to play. Anyway.

When I get out of the game, the colors on the default backup screen. I don't like the default colors so I changed it. After the reboot, all right. Also when I go into the graphical console and click on apply colors became as they were before the games. What's wrong?

Also, is that when I play two games. These are games from codemasters. Maybe their games is not compatible with my graphics card?

I have no other problems running these games.

    Hi Pawel

Believe me it is not easy to provide any reasonable explanation. Maybe you should contact codemasters support. Usually after the release of the game display settings should be as before. I put t think that there is any sort of compatibility issue because in this case, you will not be able to read.

  • Qosmio X 300 - 14 p: problems of graphics card and the vertical stripes on the screen

    Hello

2 days, after a long session laptop in many hours a lot, all of a sudden after the game for 2 hours
Patrician 4 addon, it crushed in a strange and never seen before in a way:

The screen would show the strange and weird color under all its forms rushing on ther display. You can't recognize anything, and after a few seconds of this screen and the x 300 - 14 p completely froze / crashed (hung - no reaction on anything except power plug pull or pressure on the button 5 seconds walk / stop ther).

I was scared because it looked like to me a serious problem of graphics (nvidia chip) card or display.

I was hoping it was because of the heat (even if I have a powerful block of cooling below the laptop and the heat shouldn't be a problem).

Next day (yesterday), I launched the game immediately after the start, and after a few seconds the same crash appeared again with the same strange video glitches (never seen anything strange like this before).

I immediately made the 5 second power button press reset. and then, when the first splash screen appears (the bios display indicator and the loading/splash screen), there was like 2-7 white stripes vertical (on black background) on the right side of the screen.
They would not move or go away.

I immediately turned off the laptop and it is off since then.

For me this looks really serious, as if each chip nvidia (Geforce 9800 GTX) is broken or the display.

    Someone knows something about it?
    Everyone knows about this problem?
    Who knows more?

I know, I can now connect an external monitor.
If there is no problem, this should mean that it is a x 300 display problem

If the problem also appears on the external monitor, the nvidia gpu chip. At least that would be my guess.

Anyone have an idea about it, what it might be and what I could do?

(I'm afraid to send him only the x 300 in to toshiba for fixing is not worth, because it's quite old)
(it was purchased new in June 2009). fixing, it is probably too expensive.

    Any ideas on HCet problem?
    I've never had before.
    Who can help?

    Thank you

    PS:
I was thinlking to buy the new qosmio X 870, but I just saw that there is no express card slot, I need for different expansion modules (like the tv and video equipment, more etc.pp cards e-sata).

Without an express card slot I would not buy any laptop computer, I need urgently this slot machine (it's like a pci-express slot card connection in a desktop pc).

For me the express card slot is vital.
Never saw so many bad books.

If io may need my x 300 for quite awhile,
But what I would do abpout this weird new chip/video display problem?

    Hello

I agree with you that it looks like a GPU problem.
This means that it is the worst case, because in most cases the motherboard needs to be replaced
Even if the GPU would be replaceable, this piece would be very expensive
However, you can get in touch with a local ASP from Toshiba and can ask how it is

    Good luck

What is the video card you want to buy?  He will definitely enter the space.  However, I have read various comments unless it actually operate with a power supply 300W (PSU) as shown in the specifications.  You can always try with the existing power supply and replace if necessary.  Any other card that would be as good as this card, would take at least a 500W PSU.
