Upgrade SSD in Satellite L50 - has

IM intend to put an SSD in my L50 - A - 1 7 but I don't know if my laptop supports SATAIII.

IM also not to use my ODD will be a work of caddy hard drive to put my hard drive in there to store data?

Unfortunately I can't offer you a precise answer to your question on SATA but any standard SATA laptop is such upgrade increase you mobile computer s performance quickly.

Fact is that SSDS offer substantial benefits over traditional hard drives. It is interesting to note that SATA II SSD will still be faster than virtually any rotation HDD

To find out what standard SATA laptop I recommend to install one of the two hardware diagnostic tools that are:
-Everest Home Edition
-Sisoft Sandra.

Problem is that your laptop does not have coverage of HARD drive in the lower corner so these updates must be performed by the authorized service provider.

As far as I know that Toshiba does not HDD caddy so you can try to use some third party caddy but if it will not work correctly is another issue.

Well, the procedure for the RAM upgrade is a bit tricky. There is no RAM module Bay separated with easy access.

To access the free RAM slot, the plastic cover of the bottom must be removed.
You need to remove the ODD (optical disc) as well as the battery and next by the screws around the cover.

But remove the cover would mean that you would negate the warranty.

I put t know if you want to lose the warranty, I think that security is a very important fact which should be considered before performing this upgrade procedure.

  • Need original version of OS for my Satellite L50 - has

    Hello

Mohamed Elwekil my name is, I bought PC laptop Toshiba Satellite L50 - A few months ago and I lost all the data and everything was in this laptop, now I want to have this Oem again to download once more because whenever I try to install another laptop Oem tells me that it's not correct OEM for this laptop

So please what I should do.

    Thank you

I don't know what model of laptop you have exactly (the complete model name), but I assume that you have had with preinstalled operating system. Can you confirm this?

Anyway, when you get the new notebook with preinstalled operating system, you can create media bootable recovery that you can use to reinstall the original version of the OS. I'm afraid you don't have it, right?

Now, if you've lost everything that you have two options:
1 / to install own OS version
2 / from the original recovery disk command on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

At the moment I can't say more than that. If you need more information please post the complete model name.

  • Upgrade SSD on Satellite Pro U200

    Hello!

I have a laptop (Satellite Pro U200-PLUA1E-00X007HU of the v3.70 win7 32-bit bios), I want to upgrade with a series of Samsung 830 64 GB SSD. I read that the SSD need AHCI mode. My laptop supports AHCI mode? What can I change in the bios before installing the new storage?

    Thanks for the help!

    Robert

    Hello

    I see you're confused
First, he must know that the laptop supports the SATA controller.
This means that you must use hard drives SATA or SATA SSD.

Second: AHCI means SATA some BIOS supports only a SATA mode, and you can switch between compatible (IDE) mode and AHCI (SATA) mode.

If this switch is not available in the BIOS mode is always set to AHCI.

    However, to SSD drive question:
I put t really no problem using an SSD.
It must function as the SATA controller support

  • Upgrade SSD for Satellite Pro A120

    Hello
I have a satellite pro A120, which feels a little tired. I did research SSD upgrades to replace the HARD drive, but I don't know if I can update or not. I would really appreciate any advice or information you can give me.

    Thank you

    Hello

You can upgrade the laptop with an SSD. You need a disc SSD SATA 2.5 as the A120 supports the SATA controller.
Not quite sure about the SSD size but I guess a 250 GB should be recognized correctly.

  • SSD on Satellite L50-A-1CU

I read the post about the problems (SATA compatibility slow with the latest firmwares); Now is the time, for me, buy an SSD, but this problem keeps me at all.

No answers from Toshiba about it?
It does not consider a noticeable defect?

I upgraded my older Toshiba notebooks with SSD and everything was OK. I have the Satellite P500 and Tecra A11. No problem at all.

More info on SSD for your machine, you can find on http://storage.toshiba.eu/cms/en/index.html
Of course, you can buy another brand. I use Sam... SSD pro 840. He got into special offer for a good price.

  • Upgrade processor for Satellite L50-A-138

What are the processors spend at L50-A-138?

    Can I put Intel i7-2820QM?

Update CPU or Exchange is not supported so, in my opinion, you should not think about it.
More info on what you can read on - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

Since my upgrade of the CPU experience (I ve tested on older models) will not offer a spurt of fast execution. If you want more performance without risk to upgrade your 4 GB maximum RAM 8 GB support and exchange standard fast SSD HARD drive.
Believe me you will see the difference.

One last thing. I don't know how old is your laptop, but this action will void the warranty.

  • Problem with keyboard on the Satellite L50 - has

    Hello

I have the model L50 - A Satellite and all typing today, whenever I type a letter on the /eyboard (of the previous word it should be easy to understand what letter it is!) it is replaced by / (slash).

My computer is only a couple of months and is very well cared for (without food or liquids allowed near him!). I've heard many people having a problem with the letters being substituted by numbers, which I think is a num loc / problem. I've tried, even restored computer to factory settings, but still no luc /!

I hope someone may be able to help out me?
    That / s :)

    > tried, even restored computer to factory settings, but still no luc /!
I m there is a problem with the hardware of the keyboard, and I guess that everything would work correctly using external USB keyboard. If you do not have to test this in the past, I would advise you do this just to confirm that the use of the external keyboard wouldn t be a problem.

I guess that there is no other way for you to replace the internal keyboard with a new one.
I assume that the warranty is still valid, because the L50 - A is new to the market and therefore, you should contact the Toshiba authorized service provider to get it fixed for free.

  • Quality of the terrible sound on Satellite L50 - has

I just bought a new L50 - A Satellite, and despite the reviews I found saying that the speakers are great and the quality must be really good, all the audio that I played on it was really intestine and of poor quality.
Does anyone have ideas why this would be, or how to fix it?

Play with the equalizer helped a bit, but it's still very far from perfect. It's the same Internet and iTunes, and with the speakers and headphones, so those are both excluded.

    > Play with the equalizer helped a bit, but it's still very far from perfect.

The Satellite series L50 - A comes preinstalled with DTS® Sound software.

This software can be used to improve the sound quality.

    Check it out.

  • Update BIOS on the Satellite L50 - has PSKK8V

    I have _Satellite L50 - A PSKK8V_ with Win8.1 and BIOS version 1.7
I saw that there is a new version of the bios (1.9) and downloaded... but when I try to install it it says

'* Current BIOS does not support this version program. "Please use the other outlines."

    can someone help me please!
    and thanks in advance :)

BIOS has no significant influence on the speed and performance of the laptop.
Simply said: after updating the BIOS, the laptop will not work faster!

With regard to the update of the BIOS:
You had to update and install also the Toshiba Software and tools available to win 8.1.
    You update all software?

The missing parts of the software as driver of Toshiba system would affect the BIOS update procedure!

  • Upgrade SSD in Satellite L30

    Hi all

If anyone can help with this please, I have a Toshiba L30 I got a 64 GB of ssd sandisk drive and put it in my laptop but when I try to install windows 7 I get a message there is no hard drive to install to. So I thought that the problem BIOS but when I go into the BIOS, I see the drive listed.

    Any ideas please.
    Concerning
    Booyakka

The L30 is very old notebook.
Even if the SSD drive is listed in the BIOS, it could still be a compatibility problem.

L30 supports the SATA controller, but AFAIK the SATA is already part of Windows system driver so it should not be necessary to install the additional SATA driver.

I think you should check the page of manufacturing of SSD drive support and must search for firmware update sometimes to do a firmware update.

  • Satellite L50 - Has: Toshiba HDD recovery does not

I want to drive HARD for Windows 10 recovery, I put all my files on other partitions, I was hoping to see & do "recover without changing the hard drive partitions", but when I turned on my PC and now at 0, it did not open any software TOSHIBA recovery...

I do not have the boot on this screen settings button... And image recovery system application that I use the windows installation DVD...

BTW I have the partition recovery on this computer:

As I see you did a typical mistake as many other people.
When you get the new notebook with the original version of the OS and before starting to do some experiments you do backup recovery image and create media recovery (DVD or USB).

If a problem occurs, you can use this support and install original recovery image. You say that your laptop is now in ruins. Yes, you're probably right about that. After the original upgrade win recovery options will be overwritten and disk HARD recovery option is not possible.

Your only mistake was that you did not backup recovery image.
Now, all you can do is contact Toshiba and order original recovery media. You can do so under the https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
