Hi snoorkersgoodoh

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Answers.

My apologies, I sought a Solution to this problem and have not yet found one.  However, I have a suggest (more than one test).  If you don't mind, try the following (this is to see if the PC stops in a different way)

Close all your applications.
Click Start
In the start search box type cmd, right-click on cmd.exe that appears and click on run as administrator of
At the command prompt, type the following command.  shutdown/p

If it works, the computer will launch the Shudown sequence and shut down the computer.

Please post back and let us know if it worked.  In the meantime I continue to try to find a resolution on this.  Maybe someone out there has other suggestions, if yes please post them here. -Thank you Ken

Go to your retail store, they should have the disk recovery for you or you need to go to your manufacturer directly because the manufacturer is best qualified to support the software that the manufacturer has installed on the hardware, provide your serial number and order the CD on their part. I bet they arrange an expedition to the France and tax treatment for it, but should not be too much.

Note: The manufacturer was required to provide a way to reinstall Windows. If it is not a set of disks with the computer, there will be a hidden restore partition (do not be confused with the system restore), you would use to return the computer to the State of the OOBE (Out of Box Experience).

  • I have two computers running vista and rebuilt recently starting them from original vista diskettes. I can't upgrade to SP1

they have updated ok using automatic updates, but once they came to the service pack one they say that it has been installed ok, but when I check on the system sp1 isn't here. It seems that I'm still on the original version of Vista. I now want to go to SP2 because it is the only supported version now but can't because it says sp1 must be installed first.  How can I update?

    Hello

-What is the exact error message / complete that you receive when trying to install the SP1 update?
-You are aware of any changes made on the computer before this problem?

If SP1 has been well installed and still does not appear in the information system we correct as registry below :
    (a) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion CSDVersion
    Set it to 100
    (b) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows CSDVersion
    Set it to 100
    (c) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Windows CSDVersion
    Set it to 100
    (d) restart the computer.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Your question is very difficult to understand.  Next time, try to write in a complete sentence without using cryptic abbreviations (and spelling).

I think that you are asking how to change Windows XP Edition service pack 3 for Windows XP Pro family, when all you have is a Windows XP Pro service pack 1 upgrade CD.

If this is your question, the answer is that you need create an installation CD slipstreamed that integrates your sp1 XP Pro with Service Pack 3 CD.  There are several websites with instructions.  Use your favorite search engine to search for "slipstream sp3 XP.

You can do this in a variety of ways, but using one of the two free programs - Autostreamer or nLite - makes it easier.  You will also need an application to create the CD from the ISO file that you create with Autostreamer or nLite.  ImgBurn is free and easy to use.

However he has never downloaded and upgraded to SP1.

I understand that it should not so until some driver software has been updated because there have been problems with SP1 unles blocking all drivers are up to date.
How can I find and I need to update the drivers?

    Thank you rly

    Hello

    > But it never downloaded and upgraded to SP1.
Perhaps you have simply not noticed that SP1 is installed?

You can check if SP1 is installed on your portable computer by following these steps:

    (1) access control panel
    (2) select the system

Here, you should see your Vista version and a notice if a SP1 is already installed.
If it was not installed, choose the option Windows updates. You should find it on the left.

On the other hand, you could install SP1 manually. First you must download SP1 from the Microsoft page. After the download is complete, you can perform the update.

This might take a few minutes, but be patience. It is s ;)

  • Z400 disks with EFI partition not mounting after the Windows 7 Pro upgrade

HP z400: after a repair/upgrade to sp1 of Windows 7 Pro (64), no matter what external disk with an EFI partition is not installed.  Player will be present in the BIOS and the management of drive, but without a letter. Cannot assign a drive letter.  All other discs mount correctly.  Disks with EFI partition will mount on other PCs.  All the drivers seem to be current and fuctional.

I thought about it... after two weeks of puzzle, I finally found the cause.

I run MacDrive 8 so I can play discs with HFS + formatting.  This program should be completely uninstalled and reinstalled after the upgrade.  I had turned it off before the upgrade, but it takes more than that.  Everything works now as expected.

But wouldn't be INCE if Windows reads discs mac natively?

  • LabVIEW FPGA SP1 2012 & EVS1464RT FPGA IO

    Hello

There seems to be problems with the new Labview FPGA 2012 SP1 in combination with an EVS1464RT embedded Vision system, which took place only after upgrading to SP1 2012 Labview:

    • While trying to compile our code for the EVS1464RT FPGA or (Vision system embedded with e/s based on a FPGA Virtex-II FPGA) Xilinx tools (V10.1, since it's a Virtex-II FPGA) has reported an error saying that the compilation work has tried to set the property 'Data (output events)', which does not exist, so the Xilinx tools just quit with an error.

A complete uninstall and reinstall 'clean' do not solve the problem.

Research has shown that there is a property correct for Xilinx tools, called "done (output events)." An extended search in the Labview upwards 'incorrect data (output events)' some text files in 2 files "resource.xml" in the directories '...\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\Targets\NI\FPGA\IMAQIO\IMAQIO-1 "and '...\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\Targets\NI\FPGA\IMAQIO\IMAQIO-5' (and nowhere else).". " Change these 2 texts to 'Done (output events)' corrected the error and allowed to compile the code again.

    • Another problem is that you can not start the VI FPGA-interactive (for example by clicking the Run button). This product just another error message saying that the VI '...\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\vi.lib\FPGAPlugInAG\IMAQIO-5\niFpgaOpenAndRun_IMAQIO-5.vi' could not be found (and there really is not anywhere on the hard drive).

The FPGA VI can be started from an another VI on the target host by using the function "Reference open FPGA". Then it works without any problems, so the bitfile has been obviously compiled correctly.

All of this worked out of the box without any problems on my old installation of Labview (before 2012 SP1 update).

The first problems now seems to be a simple typo, and using the function "Open FPGA reference" is a workaround for the second problem. But I'm very angry that National Instruments does not seem to test their software before releasing. A service pack should never break things that worked before.

Find these alternatives cost me 3 days, which, in my opinion, could be acceptable for open-source software, but not if you pay hundreds of euros per year for a "Standard Service program. For that kind of money, I expected NOT to test all the changes that they do well.

    Best regards

    Dr. Merlin Welker

    Hello Mr. Welker.

First of all, thank you for your comments. I'm really sorry that you stumbled on this issue. Please let me give you some background information on it.

You are right that the update for the versions of service pack is to address reported problems and he should never break things that worked before. Unforunately, a change in LabVIEW FPGA exposed an underlying issue with e/s NOR-IMAQ driver FPGA compilation. We have identified this issue and addressed it in the Acquisition of Vision Software communicated in February 2013, including e/s NOR-IMAQ 2.6.1.

It is now available in the Update Service of NOR. We also found and addressed the issue with the FPGA Open running and run interactively in the thatsame release.

We recommend the upgrade to use the latest version of driver, whenever you upgrade from versions of LabVIEW, to ensure better compatibility between them. Please note that whenever you upgrade LabVIEW FPGA or Vision Acquisition Software, you should also recompile your LabVIEW FPGA projects.

While these issues were found and corrected in the latest version, we are now reminded our development and testing processes for future versions. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience. National Instruments is committed to your satisfaction and to maintain your confidence in our products.

    Thank you

    Elmar

  • my pc crashed and I had to get back to Service pack 1 of windows XP, how upgrading to SP2?

the pc is a compaq presario, 2 ghz, 512 MB, I don't know the State of the art, but essential software applications!

I think it was SP3 crashed my pc, because it updated early December 2011 and has never worked since I recovered using tool system recovery but in XP sp1 and I can't seem to find how to get back to sp2.

    grateful for pointers

You can upgrade directly from SP1 to SP3.
Your system has currently no preinstalled, as trials for McAfee or Norton? It is advised to run their removal tools! Here are the links:
Here are the detailed instructions for upgrading from SP1 to SP3:

    1. download the installation of SP3 and IE8 files. I prefer to keep these on a USB key, but this is optional. Here are the links to all the installation of three files:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=24 (for SP3)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=43 (for IE8)

And if you wish, download the Setup file of a good anti-virus program. I recommend Avira free Antivirus:

    http://www.Avira.com/en/Avira-free-antivirus

    2. disconnect Internet.

    3. temporarily disable the automatic updates. To do this:

Start | Control Panel (switch to Classic view if not already selected). Automatic updates

    4. install the SP3. Restart TWICE.

5 move to IE8. Restart TWICE.

    6. install anti-virus software.

(What happens very often is that someone has their software antivirus running as they try to install SP3, which often translates into chaos! "This is why it must be done after installing SP3 and IE).

    7. make sure that firewall Windows is activated (it should be).

(Now you can physically reconnect to the Internet. Update Antivirus program.)

8 visit Windows Update to download and install only the critical security updates. Restart each time you are prompted.

    9. reactivate the automatic updates.

After the back if you need guidance.
