Upgrade to windows 8.1 with refurbished motherboard

I have a dell Inspiron 15rSE and have had many problems with the computer.  I went through several motherboards, and had many difficulties to get the product key of Windows 8 to work and for weeks when I entered the product key it says that the product key has been used too many times (even if I have 5 dell product key and the computer is a little over a year old).  Finally called manually and got one of the keys to work.  I have constantly asked to switch to 8.1, but am very worried that when I update it will ask me for my product key which I suppose will not work due to circumstances, I do not understand.

I need to enter my product key during the upgrade?
My Windows is fully licensed, but I don't know which key is valid and have had a lot of difficulty at the post since because of the matching mother/computer card.
Thoughts, ideas, personal experience? Thanks in advance

Change the motherboard, it will take only revive you by phone.

  • EliteBook 8440p: elitebook 8440p upgrade of windows 10 mess with boot

    Hello!

I bought a refurbished elitebook 8440p with pre-installed windows 7, 8 GB of RAM, 2.40 GHz processor.  I continued to refuse the upgrade of windows 10 when he constantly jumped upward and then one day I turned on the computer and it updated in any cases without permission.

Since the upgrade, if I shut down my computer, or try to put in standby or Hibernate mode, when I go to wake up or put on, I always get a white screen. In general, I have to turn power several times on and off until any startup screen. Then half of the time, when I get a splash screen, my cursor is stuck at the top of the page, moving only left or right whenever I try to move it. So I have to turn and turn until a new screen is displayed.

I studied how to remove 10 windows and reinstall windows 7. I passed the period of 10 days or 30 days. Media creation tool asks for the product key which I type in the sticker on the bottom of the laptop, but do not pass the verification process saying to contact the manufacturer for help.  Apparently there may be specific drivers or something you took when it improved and the media tool does not allow me to create anything for me to do a clean reinstall of windows 7.

I tried to find an option after pressing esc at the f11 reset start screen. There was no option to do so. The best I could do was to 'reset' of the computer, but he took back to the original Windows that it is firstly set at level 10 to. All my files are deleted from the computer. I just want to return to Windows 7, but could not find an effective way to do it.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

  • Problem installing Photoshop 7.0 upgrade for Windows 8.0 with 32 bit Photoshop 4.0 required first

I have Photoshop 7.0 which is an upgrade since Photoshop 4.0.  It requires the installation of Photoshop 4.0 before installing Photoshop 7.0.  I recently got Windows 8.0 that will not install Photoshop 4.0 which is 32-bit.  How to install the Photoshop 7.0 upgrade?

normally when you install an upgrade on a computer that does not have the previous version installed, you will be prompted for the serial number of the previous versions.

These versions are so old (unless you mean photoshop elements), I don't know how it will work with these versions.

    Hi all

I recently bought the dv6-7246us and have updated for one SSD HARD drive. The problem I have now is I can't boot from usb or dvd drive that contains the Windows 7installation. Initially, this laptop has a HDD with Windows 8. I changed the boot order to boot from the USB drive and the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive several times and have still no chance to start to the top of the installation. Is there a solution to this problem?

    Thank you

    Hi, Robert:

Go you into the BIOS and change in legacy Mode?

I think that you need to do in order to boot from another device other than the hard drive.

  • Windows 8 people's Republic of CHINA (unilingual OEM version in simplified Chinese) can be upgraded to Windows 8 Pro * full * English?

I bought a Dell XPS One 2710 in China that came pre-installed with Windows 8 RPC. It seems that it is a unique language locked in simplified Chinese version.

The standard procedure to add another language changes only partially certain interfaces of applications in English, but the operating system is always in Chinese.

    I think so

1 - is the upgrade to Windows 8 Pro with Windows 8 Pro Pack as described here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/feature-packs

2 - or buy a Windows 8 Pro System Builder and just reinstall

Solution 1 is my favorite option, I want to keep the existing configuration and the Dell applications.

Does anyone have experience making 1 or 2?

    Thank you.

You should upgrade to Windows 8 Pro in Chinese, then you can download the English Language Pack for free:

To the top of Windows 8 for Windows 8 Pro:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/feature-packs

Language packs are available for Windows 8 and for Windows RT

Thank you Andre, everything is now in English!

For all the foreigners living in China who want to have Windows 8 English I highly recommend to do as described below. It will add the cost of a license of Windows 8 Pro Pack, but will save you hours of waiting, of discussions, resettlement and uncertainty.

Windows 8 CPP that comes pre-installed on all computers OEM in China is locked with simplified Chinese only to the language of the OS.

You can buy Windows 8 Pro Pack, which upgrades the CPP of 8 Windows preinstalled on your new computer to a full-blown Windows 8 Pro with Media Center

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/feature-packs

Pack Windows 8 Pro can be purchased online from China, and you can pay with Paypal

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/terms-conditions-feature-packs

Windows 8 Pro has all the features to download and add language packs.

Start the upgrade using the following screenshots

    http://winsupersite.com/Windows-8/Windows-8-release-preview-add-features-Windows-8

You will need an address in China and turn off your VPN before you start the upgrade.

There is only one choice of product to buy the Windows 8 Pro Pack.

The update took a few hours of downloading so start at night and sleep at home.

After the upgrade you have Windows 8 Pro with Media Center always configured with Chinese as their main language.

You need then download and install the English language according to these screenshots pack

    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/5850-language-pack-install-uninstall-Windows-8-a.html

The US English language pack is 154 MB and may take a few hours to download as well.

Restart, then return to the screen of language making English as your primary language, as described in these screenshots

    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/5853-display-language-change-Windows-8-a.html

    Reboot again, and voila!

PS: after upgrading your Windows 8 Pro is activated automatically with the new product ID, but you haven't lost all common applications of OEM and warranty (Dell in my case).

You always connect to the app store Windows of China and are able to install apps * except * those made specifically by the OEM. In my case, there are only a few and I can't install Renren for Dell for example, but there is also another version not OEM in the app store.

This limitation is explicitly mentioned in the notes here, and I confirm.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/feature-packs

OEM applications that I have installed upgrading are still there and working, then you might want to install everything before the upgrade.

    Hello

Uncertain about the nature of the problem, but if you have used an older driver that could help?

    Something like that

    https://community.AMD.com/thread/185041

    http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&OS=Windows%208%20-%2064

The downloaded drivers AMD and its GOLDEN!

-To install all components of the pilot normally (Catalyst Control Center etc.)
-> Graphics driver itself not - you need to install manually by using the Device Manager!

-Open Device Manager (right click on the start icon in the left corner), go to "graphics card".
-Right-click on the map and select 'Update driver... '. "in the context menu (first entry)
-Click 'Find a driver on the computer' (2nd entry)
-Click on "Select driver from list.
-Click on the "Device" button... "in the right corner
-Select the driver file (* .inf) in the folder extracted from ATI. In my case, it was C:\AMD\Support\13-1-legacy_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc\Packages\Drivers\Display\W86A_INF.
There are a few different files, it seems that the dialog box choose the right when you simple select one of them... TRY FIRST! Otherwise, you might try reading the .inf files (they are just plain text files - maybe you will find your chipset in there...)
-Click OK, the dialogue will now see one or two entries that should bear the name of your graphics card - select one of them
-Click next - the screen will go black and flicker, you will hear the sounds of connection/disconnection of the device several times. Do not worry, everything works as expected!
-The driver must now be ready - reboot your system and you should now be able to control your graphics settings using the Catalyst Control Center.

  • Change of motherboard, cpu and ram by using the version of upgrade of windows 7

I plan on upgrading my motherboard, cpu and ram. I am using windows 7 Home premium that I have updated from xp using a retail upgrade disc that I bought from a company of national computer supplies. Should I have any problems activating this the wrench that came with the drive. I have read several posts on this but can't seem to find a definitive answer. Help, please!

Well, Windows XP and Windows 7 are versions of upgrade as you claim, that means XP used a qualifying version of Windows that is pre-installed with the system used the upgrade of the command.

This means, Windows XP and Windows 7 are both related to this version of Windows that came with the system. Because the copy of the original Windows supplied with the system would have been an OEM license, which means, Windows 7 and XP have more rights to transfer if you change the motherboard.

You can always try a clean install with upgrade.

How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

    Enter the product key

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

  • WINDOWS 8 IS COMPATIBLE WITH ALL MOTHERBOARDS

    Hello

I use Windows 7 Ultimate and was very disappointed to learn Microsoft hadn't given everything about information Hardware Compatibility mode of return in October 2012 to January 2013 I've seen people try upgrade and wasting earned money when I asked ASUS if the card mother on my computer ASUS P 5 G C 41 - M LX , I learned to upgrade the jury sort that even after buying Windows 8 Pro because I felt beyond my budget, I had to return the product to Microsoft Trainer a good friend asked if I upgrade I said all depends on how I afford to spend around $ 100 only for the Council therefore like www.windows7.com if a www.windows8.com was launched all the material and software required were clearly stated and there was a scoreboard before BUYING which answered all the questiions Would'nt it be Conerned team the useful idea is asked to consider my point of view of budget

    Thank you

If it's a fact why asus he said I need to upgrade Council I have never mind 32 or 64 bit only thing no additional technique isn't that expected also do I need a touch screen or tft screen that I have work will earn 8 pro

ASUS makes the most money and guarantees a happy customer?  You upgrade to Windows 8 on a motherboard where you can use the Windows 7 drivers and all * are * OK or you buy a new motherboard that is definitely supported by them in Windows 8?

Or the other might, but the best bet is to the latter.

Not to over complicate it.  Just based on what I've seen of this conversation, I'm not sure that you will be same as Windows 8 (native).  It would be better with a touch screen (Yes), but it does not require one.  You might even get some third-party applications, and everything could look more like Windows 7.

  • Problems with fonts after upgrade to Windows 10

After the upgrade to Windows 10. Some of the police are white with black outlines makes it difficult to read a few pages. I refreshed and reinstalled firefox and it's still there. I disabled and deleted all the addons and it's always the case.

Both pis. My only solution is to delete the font cache. Restart the PC and uncheck the allow the Web Sites to choose their own and simply used the Arial font. I can read very well now. For some reason any double check the last option is by default the text to look like that. Does not occur in Google Chorme then Yes.

  • I started with a sec_error_unknown_issuer and now have a sec_error_bad_signature after the upgrade to Windows 10.

I upgraded to Windows of Windows 8.1 10 last night. I tried to connect to facebook, a few hours ago and find that I can't. The error is, "this connection is untrusted", with "this site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HST) to specify that Firefox didn't connect safely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate."

I scoured the help forums and have learned that it is because I have active parental control and trying to access accounts on an account of "the child". One of them suggested is to disable parental control. This is not an option. I absolutely must have Family Safety for my laptop.

This thread is very useful: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1075301. I did the first answer Philipp suggested, "Trust this CA to identify web sites", and I confirmed this change.

Now, whenever I try to access Facebook, Google, Yahoo, Youtube, etc, I get this:
An error occurred during a connection to www.yahoo.com. The peer certificate has an invalid signature. (Error code: sec_error_bad_signature)

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

I ran out of ideas. I went back to the thread useful and tried the next thing, philipp suggested: go to the Web page, "https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2965142" and then clicking on the link "known issues for Mozilla Firefox users. The problem with this, is that the instructions seem to be written for a device touchscreen enabled; I don't have a touchscreen device, I have a laptop to play with without a touchscreen.

I know there is a lot of information, but I would really appreciate anyone help in my struggle to be able to access these sites without asking my mother to get on his administrator account when I want to access these Web sites.

in case you want to use family protection by intention, you need a configuration so that it can function in firefox and install the security certificate for the family that is getting used to intercept connections secure in the confidence of the ms browser store: while in firefox, click on this link - then must display a dialog on the addition of a cert. Please check the trust this CA to identify web sites & confirm the change.

Alternatively, you can also try the manual procedure described in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2965142 in the section about firefox.
