There is a HDD Recovery folder in the second partition, but I fear that the use of it will be re - install Windows Vista as well. Any help or ideas?

>... How will restore all my laptop Toshiba delivered software provided with.
What software do you mean exactly?
> There is a HDD Recovery folder in the second partition, but I fear that the use of it will be re - install Windows Vista as well.
Correct, but please don t forget that after a fresh install of Win7 you will not be able to access the HARD drive recovery image and installation of HARD drive recovery (F8 > fix my computer) will no longer work.

I got a slightly used work computer with Vista 32-bit on it. I tried upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium with an updated disc that I bought a few years at Microsoft.  Everything went well. It is installed properly. I downloaded ALL the updates to get SP1 +, but it seems to need an activation key.  Can I just buy a key without reinstalling the operating system or do I have to buy an another upgrade or full version of Windows 7 Home Premium?  Be specific on where, how and what to buy.  Thanks for the help.

Thank you.  I had to buy a new product key for Technical Support, but it went very smoothly and now Windows 7 is genuine.

    Installation - 'upgrade' means what?
Upgrade means that you can install Windows 7 simply by inserting the Windows 7 upgrade software in the DVD drive of your PC and follow the instructions on the screen. While you are not required to backup and reinstall your files, or reinstall your programs, it is a very good idea to back up your files and settings before you start any upgrade to the software. Get more information on the software updates and best practices .

Installation - what does "Custom (Clean)" Mean?
A custom (clean) installation clears the contents of the hard drive of your PC. Your files, settings, and programs will not be transferred to Windows 7. This means that to install Windows 7, you must:

    • Back up any files and settings you want to keep

    • Install Windows 7

    • Reinstall all your files

    • Reinstall all the programs you want to use.

These four steps take time, skills, techniques and Windows Easy Transfer can help. However, if you are not comfortable with this process, please consider having the installation carried out by a local service provider.

I have a desktop pc with 2 internal hard drives.  A hard drive has the BONE and the second hard disk is a separate partition.  (I do not combine hard drives using RAID.)  If I upgrade Vista to Windows 7, the upgrade will be to reformat hard disks or just a hard drive with the operating system?  Should I remove the second hard disk of the computer just to be sure?  The second hard drive must be reformatted for use with Windows 7?

You must install the upgrade in the Vista operating system.

What should I do to resolve this problem and allow full of Windows 7 installation? (my computer is a Compaq Presario V6000).

    Hello

What installation media you are using?

    Method 1:

Error 0 x 80070017 translates "CRC error" which means that the files that are copied from the disc are not making it to the hard drive with the same structure, which means that the 'original' the disk files are modified/changed/corrupted while being copied to the location of the 'destination' on your disk during Setup.

This usually means a bad DVD, or an error reading on the DVD player.

A preliminary version is not a permanent solution and to this date can not activate or update properly.  You have two choices:

    (1) get you a Windows 7 upgrade version.  (2) Windows 7 Trial (see the last part of my post).

With a choice, it is always a good idea to create a backup Image of your hard drive before moving from Vista to Windows 7.
