I HAVE WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM WITH WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER VERSION 2007 AND AM TRYING TO UPGRADE TO V.9 OR HIGHER VERSION, BUT ALL FAIL WITH ERRORS OF CONFLICT. ... Help!

Hi pamarula,

Windows Vista has Windows media version 11 built the drive in which you cannot move to v9.

There is no upgrade to higher version of Windows media player for Windows vista.

  • Y570 Windows media player problem

    Hi guys...

    Recently I bought Lenovo Y570.

But I am facing problem with the playback of the media through windows media player.

Audio / video that plays automatically stops and I have to press play to resume playback.

    It is sometimes quite irritating.

Sometimes, listening to a playlist, the song gets skipped automatically and the next song starts.

    What could be the problem?

I installed the Spider & VLC player media player, but I don't face above problems during playback of audio / video on them.

Edit: just now, I was playing a piece and he pauses automatically. I did not worth playing again. But after a few minutes, he started to play again.

So, basically, it's like some ghosts control my windows media - play, pause, skip song player.

I couldn't find a similar problem on the internet. Help, please. I want Media Player since it sounds better than the spider.

You have Lenovo RIC in your system tray? If you do, you have the auto-DJ turned on. Go to the menu "assistant" and turn it off.

You can disable this "feature" in your menu.

  • color of Windows media player problem

The Windows Media Player framework (including the toolbar) changed to dark red color (have not changed the parameters myself) on my desktop (blackish slept on my laptop). and the "color picker" under "improvements" simply does not (it does on my laptop). I've uninstalled and reinstalled WMP without result. Suggestions, please

I found this solution on an Avast forum (seems as if some Avast users have this problem) and it worked for me.

Open the dialog box run (twice) and then paste into the pressing next OK after every time:

    regsvr32 jscript.dll

    regsvr32 vbscript.dll

I did a registry backup first - just in case - but now my WMP is back to normal (black)

    Try this...

Start > default programs > associate a type of file or Protocol with a program > wait for loading > top left, under name, scroll down until you see mp3, click > everywhere, look under current by default, it should say Windows Media Player...
If it does not say that, click on change program... > in the open with window, select Windows Media Player > click OK
    See the screenshots for illustration...

    Hope this will help.

  • How to upgrade windows media player to upgrade security 2.5.0.0 2.5.0.1

Try to use the OverDrive Media Console software so that I can listen to books downloaded from my local library. The program requires that I use Windows Media Player with the update of security 2.5.0.1 - how ever my WMP is 2.5.0.0 and will not update. • How to upgrade Windows Media Player codecs

    Intel/Ligos Indeo Interactive 5.0 (IV50)

Where can I find these CODECS for Windows Media Player Version 11 for Windows Vista updates?  Without them, some of my old files .avi not work or work properly.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi KenF,

The links are in my answer above:

All you need is good Codec - get these if 32-bit.

-Free - CCCP also get free tool of insurgents
    http://CCCP-project.NET/

    FFDSHOW - free
    http://sourceforge.NET/projects/ffdshow/

    Check here:

    Plug-ins for Windows Media Player
    http://www.Microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/plugins.aspx

    ---------------------------------------

VLC needs, of no use so usually Codec as a backup when asked to support associations of files just say no.

    VLC - free
    http://www.videolan.org/VLC/

    -------------------------------------------------------------

If 64 bits and you need codec.

Read this 1st and go that route, or use the one below. (Vista or Windows 7)

    http://www.Vistax64.com/sound-audio/152850-Vista-codec-pack-32bit-64bit-Media-Player-codecs.html

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

If 64-bit - can run WMP in 32 or 64 bit mode.

Or try these: download - SAVE - go to the place where your put them RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN.

For 32-bit use these - OR the 32 bit ones listed above which I prefer.

K - Lite Codec Pack 7.1.X (or newer)
    http://www.codecguide.com/

    Use them for 64-bit:

    K - Lite Codec Pack (64-bit) 4.6.X (or newer)
    http://www.codecguide.com/

    -------------------------------------------------------------
You know that you use WMP 32 or 64

Change, change or set 64 - Bit Windows Media Player 11 (WMP11) in Windows Vista x 64 as default
    http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/01/19/switch-change-or-set-64-bit-Windows-Media-Player-11-WMP11-in-Windows-Vista-x64-as-default/

    -------------------------------------------------------------

And you can use it when necessary because no codex is usually required.

  • Image of Windows Media Player problems

Recently, I got a new phone and I try to sync pictures of her with Windows Media Player. It is the Samsung intensity II.

But, in addition, it is not allowing me to synchronize the pictures to the device. It says "Error" on each photo, when I go to the sync details. Then I click error details, and it is said that the phone does not support photos or Media Player is not to convert the pictures correctly. I know for a fact that the phone supports pictures so... I'm a bit stuck.

Any help would be much appreciated. (:

    Thank you!

    Hi Hopeinx,

    ·        Do you have any software disk that came with Samsung mobile, which must be installed on the computer?

Player Windows Media would not support the synchronization of the device until you install the software and the drivers provided by the manufacturer of the device. If you have any software provided by the manufacturer Samsung Mobile, you can install it and check if it helps.

You can also install the Samsung software and check if you can see all the photos on the computer using their software and copy the images on the computer.

If you do not have the software of Samsung, you can contact their support and download the software from their site and check if that helps.

Link to contact Samsung Mobile support:http://www.samsung.com/us/support/main/supportMain.do

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

  • Satellite P300: Microsoft Windows Media Player problems

Hi, I have trouble getting all the sounds of WMP 11 after about 10-15 seconds. I can get sound for 10 seconds and then no sound, but WMP still continues to play. Same thing when you try headphones. I have no trouble hearing my TV modem sounds and other sounds of Windows (I have recently changed from 32 to 64-bit one no problem with sound)

My laptop is a Toshiba P300/05Y, P7450, 4 GB of Ram with Windows Vista SP2 x 64 installed. In Device Manager I have drivers listed as Conexant High Definintion SmartAudio 221 and high definition Audio Device (I think this one is for the HDMI output) (there is also a 71st Pinnacle PCTV which is for my modem TV).

I checked the two audio devices are up-to-date with WMP11 - all of which are. What else can I check to get WMP works again? Oh yes, I use the media through the media player (although I did try and play music over there just to see if it made a difference, but not the question)

    Just a question:
Have you noticed same problem using another player like WinAmp?

I just want to understand if there is a sound problem general or simply associated with WMP 11.
Is that what you have installed this update?
Did you also install the codecs or codec package such as K-lite

CAUTION: Use caution when installing codecs that you find on the Internet, in particular some of the free codec packs that claim to include codecs from a wide variety of companies or organizations. Incompatibilities are known to exist with some of the components in these codec packs that can cause serious playback issues in the player and other players, lead to the corruption of the system and make it difficult for Support from Microsoft to diagnose and solve playback problems. For these reasons, we strongly discourage you from installing these codec packs, and recommend that remove you them if you have installed them and you are having problems with the player. Install only codecs, filters or plug-ins from reliable sources, authorized, such as the website of the official supplier. Even in this case, beware: some codec suppliers offer minimal customer. Before you install the components of digital media, set a system restore point. The restore point to go back to the configuration of your system, if necessary.
