Upgrading memory on Mac Mini (mid-2111)

Following the instructions, I bought a slot (8 GB) memory.  I was told to just replace one of the existing homes (1 GB) and leaving the other in place, for a total of (9 GB).  After reading the information contained in my Mac mini booklet: "your Mac mini has two memory slots in which you can install a pair of memory from 1 GB, 2 GB or 4 GB, for a maximum of 8 GB of memory.  For best performance, do not mix the modules of different sizes; always install two identical memory modules. "I know that this seems to answer my question, but I called the back store, and they told me it was OK install a slot of 8 GB.  Should I return the 8GB and buy two slots of 4 GB for best results, or it's not important.  I was also told it's a big savings to buy a 8 GB on two of the 4 GB of memory.   I did not open the package again.  I was also told I could return it if it does not work, just for the package of 4 GB of memory.  I asked how do I know if I had a problem and I was told that my computer just does not start up if it's a question. Thank you for your help.

More RAM always trumps any pair and it will work fine.

FWIW my end of 2012 has worked on 10 GB during the last 3 years with no problems.

  • Mac Mini (mid-2010) fan running full speed

I went on the hard drive of a few years for one SSD OEM and the fan runs all the time.  In my view, there is a connector on the card, which has no connection with it.

I read that this occurs when the thermal sensor is not placed on the new hard drive.

How many connection should be here soon out of the drive to connect to the map?

    How can I fix?

    TIA

The original HD had a sensor taped to the road with adhesive tape double faces. You had to move the sensor to the new drive. Without the detector, the fan runs at full speed.

  • Mac mini mid-2011 show AMD radeon 6630 m

I got a used mac mini. Works fine except; randomly breaks the display.  After countless times of restart, reset, hard reset etc, I found reconnect the HDMI cable kind of fix it.

    The display is Samsung s27d360

I tried HDMI to HDMI, HDMI-Thunderbolt, VGA to lightning. So far, best seems to be HDMI-HDMI cable.

I ran a complete test of the material (by pressing D on startup), no problems were detected.

The monitor works fine with a cable on Macbook air 2012 configuration

I got this blue screen after reboot before the login screen

I also had once after the login screen

I randomly get screen dividing / break in two

Randomly get the grey screen with vertical bars (no pink or green bars)

What is the monitor? Cables? (They are not original Apple) Firmware? GPU? I really want to continue to use it.

I hope that someone had similar problems and was able to simply fix in an update of the firmware or display setting or a cable or something. Help please.

  • Adobe Design Mac Mini mid-2007 CC

Hi, I think of buying a Mac Mini mid-2007 of opportunity (A1176 ver 2.1) with Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 2000 Mhz, 2 GB ram, Os X 10.7 for enter the world Mac ;-)

I would like to know if I'll be able to run the Adobe's XD, because until now it's still not clear to me if it's a program that I need to install or web application (for example Adobe Story)

Hardware and software required for installation using the Adobe experience design and running.  -J' found the requirements here, but if it's a web application, there was basically no matter which machine I am runing, isn't it?

I'd appreciate your comments to clear the situation.

    Best regards

    Hey, thonyk3429212 -.

Major issues and I am glad that you asked before that you bought! The answer to your question is: no, this isn't quite right.

Adobe XD has two components to it (so far): a design area native desktop and a web service to share prototypes of sharing. Browsers you see listed in the lower part are for shared prototypes, and the section on top is for the design of office surface. As you can see, the capital requirements are a minimum of 10,10 (Yosemite) with 4 GB of RAM. Therefore, the system you're considering would not enough to run XD.

    Hope that helps!

  • Upgrade hard drive Mac Mini end of 2012.

I7 clocked at 2.6 ghz 16 GB ram...

Fusion car again, noted that, once 128 GB ssd was that full, there was no real advantage to the merger. I decided (possible foolishly) to do an upgrade.

Installed 500 GB Samsung evo 850 ssd, wd 1 TB of storage. (no merge)

Set up own of El Capitan with bootable USB drive. Everything is good so far except noticed mini heater, exhaust fan works not!

take off cover, plug verified, it was well set, leading fan and he continued running.

Everything seemed so finished installation and got replacement as precautionary measure fan and equipped.

More than three weeks a couple of other strange events, two or three times at the start, progress bar would get to halfway, empty display outside and nothing more occur. Force shutdown, reboot and everything ok again.

The fan has stopped when the mini went to sleep once or twice, reboot has solved sometimes. Reset the PRAM again.

Over the past three days several times, fan stopped at startup, reset the SMC seems to fix the problem. All connectors are good. I have followed with Imenus and more recently THPro, when the fan stops it is reported to be clocked at 650 RPM!

I searched this problem, a person finds that remove the original drive on mac mini stopped fan altogether, substituting the original 'apple drive"and and the fan works fine! that makes no sense to me, but the Samsung in car that belonged the 128 GB ssd my original merger was coded firmware to it was "Apple."

The Evo 850 does not report temperature through the chip, I don't see that this would lead to good questions?

Don't know where I'm going with this, I could replace the original 'Apple readers' and see what is going on, at least I could forget a possible crude oil on a fire. Should I reinstall and do a fusion drive (can't see that it would make a difference)

I took everything public static precautions, taken my time replace the disks and it went smoothly without a hitch...

If anyone can suggest anything, I would be very grateful.

I have a HP Mini 311-1037, s/n: {removed privacy}, p/n: UNKNOWN (the sticker is white here, no number given), I need to upgrade the memory (RAM).

I read on the specifications it takes and I aknowleged I could buy a slot SODIMM PC3-8500 of 2 gigabytes, so I did, I bought this machine slot Kingston KVR1066D3S8S7 / 2G but... IT DOES NOT WORK! The computer does not start with trendy.

    So!

I need you guys to give me some advice on this, I need to know what I did wrong, BUT, more important, I need to know what the good memory to buy, and if possible, where can I buy it at the Portugal.

I hope someone can help me as soon as possible, my gratitude will be immense if my fix of get.

  • Upgrade memory for MacBook Pro mid-2014

I have a Retina (2014 Mid) MacBook Pro. There are already 16G memory. But I still even is not enough for me.

    Can I add more memory?

RAM is not extensible on a Macbook Pro of the retina.

I'm sure that it is soldered to the logic board.

  • Magic keyboard doesn't work don't perfectly with Mac-mini mid 2011

I am running the latest version of El Capitan (OS 10.11)

    The system version: OS X 10.11 (15A279b)
    Kernel version: Darwin 15.0.0
    Apple Bluetooth software: 4.4.0f4 16320

These correspond to the requirements of Magic Keyboard (Mac computer compatible Bluetooth with v10.11 OS X or later) according to Apple documentation official http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MLA22LL/A/magic-keyboard-us-english

If I followed the instructions to connect the keyboard up via Thunderbolt, the keyboard works partially. I can type via Bluetooth.

However, I can't use the volume buttons to control the sound. When I try to assign or reassign the buttons, I discovered that I can't 'see' the keyboard in Control Panel.

So, I find it very strange and of course disappointing. I can use Bluetooth, but not make the best use of the characteristics of the material. So sorry to say this, but it feels more like Linux where drivers regularly can make full use of the material and do not like Apple where it should all be integrated from top to bottom.

The ideas or support would be appreciated.

    Ray

PS I have the same problem with the new Magic Trackpad. So it's more than 200 euros for the minimum functions

If I followed the instructions to connect the keyboard up via Thunderbolt,

It be USB to lightning, Thunderbolt.

Check that this block is not checked. You can also try to check it out and then unchecking it.

PS You should also upgrade to the current version of El Capitan, 10.11.2, build 15 c 50. Updates cover a lot of previous bugs and problems. "15A279b" is not the latest version.
