Upgrading RAM for Pavilion dv6t - 3000 CTO Select Edition Entertainment Notebook
Model Pavilion dv6t - 3000 CTO Select Edition, Prod #VXO69AV, Intel Core i5 - 450 M (2.4 GHz with 3 MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.66 GHz, 160 GB Solid State Drive Flash Module, 1 GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 switchable graphics, Windows 7 Ultimate. I currently have the original 6 GB of ram that came on the HP laptop, which includes a stick of 4 GB and 2 GB key.
I want to spend the maximum amount of ram and the ram for maximum performance (speed). Analysis of Crucial.com says I have 6 GB of ram and the maximum ram is 8 GB. He also says that I can buy one (or two) 4 GB DDR3 PC3-12800. CL = 11. NON ECC unbuffered. DDR3-1600. 1.35v. here is the link for the crucial scan and recommendations:
Here is a link below for my maintenance SE dv6t and Service Guide, with memory on page 70. The service guide references DDR3 PC3-10600 clocked at 1333 MHz.
Issues related to the:
The Crucial scan seems to direct me to the memory of better and faster that is listed in the Service Guide. My laptop took advantage of this Crucial memory to operate at faster speeds than the memory, I have now? What latency (CL) cases? I saw sticks to new Egg with CL = 9 instead of this Crucial CL = 11. CL is important? What I have to buy two Crucial 4 GB sticks or I can I keep my original 4 GB stick and add a Crucial 4 GB stick for my 8GB? Is Crucial memory memory low density -something I've read elsewhere that I need? FWIW, a diagnostic analysis of Norton said that my current memory is syncing to 1067 ns.
I have also these two links below for key USB PNY to a Best Buy nearby. The first stick of memory PNY seems to correspond to the Crucial memory card. Is - this low density memory PNY memory? And yet once, can I buy a single stick of 4 GB and add to my current 4 GB stick? This 4 GB PNY stick below which seems to fit the profile of Crucial scan is what I would buy if he tell you it's compatible, because I can buy it at a Best Buy near and easily return it if it does not work:
And here is the link to a second best buy PNY 4 GB stick whose plug appear to be closest to the Service of Guide specifications, but this stick may not be low voltage and it has less maximum MHz:
Thank you for your help and your recommendations!
Hello. I'll answer my own questions in the last post above. Fortunately, HP expert Paul Tikanen resolved my questions in a thread with the following response. Thank you, Mr. Tikkanen!
"The faster the memory will run in your laptop is at 1066 Mhz, which is the speed of the FSB of the i5 - 450 M.
So, my recommendation would be for you to buy a module of memory 4 GB DDR3 PC3 - 10600 (1333 MHz).
Thus, even the 1333 MHz chip will only work at 1066 MHz.
I had a lot of success with this configuration of brand and the memory chip.
Regardless of the brand you download, make sure he's 8 the little black chips of memory on each side of the Board, not 4.
I have a HP Pavilion dv6t-6100 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC with Win7 Home Edition. The manual indicates that it has bluetooth capabilities. Device Manager does not list a bluetooth adapter. Belarc Advisor said that the laptop has an Intel Centrino Wireless Bluetooth 3.0 adapter and high-speed virtual. I downloaded and installed sp55138.exe Intel PROSet driver bluetooth, but still no bluetooth.
This laptop have bluetooth capability, and what is the appropriate driver/software to activate it?
To check if your laptop is Bluetooth capable, go to the device and then manager network adapters. Note the model of network adapter, and then check the manufacturer's website. My original card is an Intel N1000, that isn't compatible Bluetooth. I intend to change it on shortly with another model that has Bluetooth.
My Dv6t-3000 CTO select came with a HP 160 GB SSD hard dive, part # 603673-001. Here is the service manual for your laptop: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02657339.pdf hard drive HP numbers are listed on page 65.
I want to replace my 160 GB SSD with a larger capacity drive. I don't like to get again the SSD. Would this WD Black WD5000LPLX 500 GB 7200 RPM 32 MB Cache SATA 6.0 GB / s 2.5 "Internal Hard Drive drive naked of the new egg be a good and compatible choice? It would be the same size? Do I need additional cables to install it? Does with Imaging for transfer of operating system software and your data?
It is an excellent hard drive; one of the best mechanical laptop from readers on the market. The mounting for the SSD material will also work with the HARD drive, you don't need anything in the way of shopping cart or cables. The hard drive and SSD are the same physical size with holes in the same place. However, this product is a "naked" drive, which means that it does not come with a software or additional hardware of any kind. You also need something like this:
When you clone, choose resize "proportional". This will just make all the larger partitions in the same report. Passing a smaller on a player more large size is much easier that vice versa. Good luck.

Hello forums HP!
I have problems with the bluetooth in my HP dv7t-6100.
I am no longer able to see/add devices bluetooth with Windows 7 is to add a device. He was working a few weeks ago, but was (waking up from his sleep would cause the device to turn off and I should enable in Device Manager to operate).
I tried unistalling, then reinstall the drivers Wifi and different bluetooth drivers, but I can't see my bluetooth devices (which I know work btw).
Try to add the com ports manually does not work, and I can't remove them later, because I get the message error "the specified service does not exist.
And by clicking on "Choose a COM port for a Bluetooth device" brings up the help page for Spider Solitaire, which makes no sense.
WELL, I GOT MY BLUETOOTH WORKS AGAINN! (Sorry for the caps)
After turning around uninstalling and installing drivers for many hours, deletion of registry keys, reseating the bluetooth module, I finally found something that worked.
I have installed the Toshiba bluetooth stack software and unfortunately, my bluetooth has started working again! Wohoo!
It was difficult to settle at first it seemed that the installation froze on the driver real bluetooth, but just cancel and start the program caused to function normally. (I think its because my stack of drivers/bt bt were corrupt and I couldn't make them disappear completely).
So, if your bluetooth stops working to the point where mine was to, try another bluetooth stack. It should not be Toshiba, but it happens to work with my HP laptop.
SEE YOU SOON!
I have a HP Pavilion dv6t - b 6, 00 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC and I installed 8 64-bit windows.
I installed the latest version of the BIOS F.1C.
I want to disable Secure Boot to boot from a USB EFI.
I started windows in Advanced Mode, but I don't see the option highlighted here: http://www4.pcmag.com/media/images/380851-back-to-windows-7-uefi-firmware-settings.jpg?thumb=y
My BIOS is locked and I don't have any advanced options there.
Have a great day.
If you original computer comes with Windows 7, it is not / is not compatible "Secure Boot. Please see "on UEFI and Start Menu" for more information on access to various start up options and instructions on disabling "Secure Boot".
To boot from a valid "UEFI USB", the computer must recognize the active UEFI boot device. Some computers are not what UEFI valid "NTFS" format USB Flash Drives UEFI activate and in this case, the USB Flash drive must be formatted in FAT32.Use the Boot Menu or Boot Device menu to choose a source of UEFI, such as Windows Boot Manager startup, - internal CD/DVD drive or UEFI - UEFI USB Flash drive.
I have a HP ENVY dv6t-7300 CTO Select Edition Notebook PC, Ralink 802.11 b/g/n WiFi adapt when I updated to windows 8.1 the wi fi will not connect to the web, it just gives me limited connection, Microsoft said that it may not be window 8.1 compatible with anyone knows about it?

I've visited the forums, recommendations are given by competent persons for purchases of RAM.
Issues related to the:
1 is my laptop - portable, compatible computer for the upgrade of the Rams the existing 2 x 4 GB 2x2gb?
2. following has been recommended for a similar case in the forums (for a slightly different configuration):
G.SKILL 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) 204-pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) laptop memory model F3-10600CL9D-8GBSQ
(Not sure if is 1, 5V for my machine)
Can I use the same (2)... or else want to recommend pieces for 2 x 4 GB with the purchase that I don't get no exact corresponding to those. One or the other setting is different.
Thanks in anticipation,
Your request has been covered in the next more old thread.
We have a WPA2 Enterprise network running on a Cisco Wireless Lan Controller. The controller is 4400 series and the Aironets are 1130 G Series. The problem is that this brand new computer not connect to this network from time to time and when it connects it times out. This works for all Mac and PC computers. What should I do for this HP pavilion dv6t 3000 to make it work on our network?
Other information: the networks that aren't encrypted work very well.
Intel(r) Wifi Link 1000 - Wifi card
Thanks to another message board. The answer was.
The second connection to the wifi card has not been set. Open Bay for the wifi card and just reconnected the wireless card connectors.
I have recently installed the bluetooth module, part number 537921-001, on a Pavilion DV6T-2000, and I can not find the device driver. It is not automatically install in Windows 8 x 64 and I do not see those who have been made available for Windows 7 x 64 on the support page.
I also tried to use drivermax and slimdrivers hoping to find it but still no luck. The device appears in the device as an unknown device manager, but it upward in the BIOS as a device in the System Info screen.
I understand that the Bluetooth is not installed on your HP Pavilion DV6T-2000 and Windows 8. Windows should pull in the correct driver for the device. I would go into Device Manager and uninstall, then restart the computer with the device in. Here is a link to the drivers.
Please let me know how it goes.
I'm looking to get more RAM for my HP Pavillion G7. I searched spare parts with the number of my product (A7A46UA) and noted that the replacement part would be
Module memory PC3-12800 4 GB, 1600 Mhz, 641369-001 (SHARED)
Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Here is a picture of my current RAM
It's actually a very specialized type of memory called DDR3L low voltage (1.35 volts).
It's the same thing:
I'm looking to update my RAM and would appreciate any help in determining what to buy to upgrade my RAM full system. It is a product B5S11UA #ABA Pavilion DV6, totally stock number. I think that the vehicle currently has 6 GB of RAM. Thank you!
It's a HP Pavilion dv6-7010us and Yes, it currently has 6 GB of RAM. It supports up to 16 GB in two locations (8GB) and accessible/extendable user. Please use the manual next (page 4) for work on the configuration of your need and go to page 51 to find a part # and how add/replace RAM
I just bought HP Pavilion notebook 15-E016tx.
It currently has 4 GB of RAm DDR3, I would like to upgrade to 8 GB.
Is this possible? I went through the HP site, but its no the case clearly stated that if I can update or not.
I have 2 memory slots, 1 slot memory is free right now.
Thank you and please advice.
You can upgrade a maximum 8 GB (2 x 4 GB Modules). It is usually best to upgrade using corresponding modules and an appropriate example can be seen at the following link.
If you decide to add an another 4 GB, something like the example in the link below should work fine.

I loaded all drivers of Windows 8 and I still 'Unknown device' appears twice under "Other devices" in Device Manager. Everything seems to work: card reader, cards, video cards, camera, etc. Please let know us if you have an idea of what we're missing. Thank you very much.
You are the very welcome.
Here are the drivers you need:
See the title of the thread.
I took it apart to clean (after like...) 4 years of regular use) and just realized that the fan has stopped working since this point. He works at an ambient temperature of 140-150ff now - turn serious ongoing fire.
I'm not terribly great with hardware and struggling to understand this fan to get as a replacement. Any help would be appreciated.
And yes I know it's an old mobile phone, but I'm trying to hold on. ;-)
Go to HP parts - enter the product number of your laptop (listed on the label under the battery) to search for parts.
If no fan is always available on order you get at least the part number. Google it-Amazon, Ebay all have probably something compatible.
I use a HP Pavilion Dv6t - 3000 CTO. I want to know: can I configure HP coolsense for my laptop?
To answer your question about the meaning of cool. The only way to put in place cool sense, but if the feature came with the notebook.
This isn't something that you can buy. So if it came with the laptop no you can not.
Ask any other question.
