Upgrading the PSU on my Pavilion a4311f-b

So, I'm a gamer and I got this computer of the aunt of my mother. Since it has integrated graphics (which are horrible for games), I wanted to update. I chose a Sapphire Radeon 7750. To add to this, I needed to upgrade my power supply. I got an Antec VP-450w to have enough for the cpu and the gpu devices. I just wanted to know if this power supply is compatible with this computer.

PSU - http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=62331&vpn=VP450&manufacture=Antec

GPU -http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102969

The block of power SUPPLY Antec brand 450 should work, however it is not really designed for games. You can consider the Corsair CX500, CX600, CX500M, or CX600M. The "M" versions have a modular cabling to reduce congestion and the barrier, allowing a better air circulation.

The ASUS GTX 560 should adapt and work very well. The Antec PSU is great and very likely to have problems in the space provided. It can interfere with connections to the motherboard and push against the CD/DVD discs. Please look at the Corsair CX600 instead. It is only slightly larger than the block of power SUPPLY HP stock and is known to adapt.

  • Upgrade the video card in Pavilion HPE 380t

    Hello

I want to upgrade the video card in my HPE 380 t, currently it has geforce gtx 260, I want to install a geforce gtx 560 ti or 570.

I have 2 problems with the viability of this. 1. space. and 2. Food. Has anyone successfully completed a similar upgrade on this system?

Plug current sys is the following.

    • Intel Core i7 - 930 quad-core [2.8 GHz, 1 MB L2 + 8 MB of cache N3 shared]
    • 12GB DDR3 - 1066 MHz SDRAM [6 DIMMS]
    • 1 TB hard drive 7200 RPM SATA 3 Gb/s of 750Go
    • 1.8 GB NVIDIA Geforce GTX 260 [2 DVI, HDMI and VGA adapters]
    • LightScribe 16 X MAX drive DVD +/-R/RW SuperMulti

    power of 460 wt

About the food, the psu calculator gives me the following recommendations

I need my current configuration 529W!

    with a gtx 560 ti , I need 513

    with a gtx 570, I need 577W

    This raises a few questions:

    1. How can my system running on a 460wt power if the power supply calculator recommends 529w (nvidia reccomends a PSU 500w for the gtx 260 which is installed on my machine?)

    2. how the song gtx 560 ti could possibly require less energy than my current gtx 260?

    3. could I move to one of these cards without replacing the power supply? (I'd be willing to lose the dvd/rw drive, this falls 30w)

    4. what someone has updated the PSU in a HPE 380 t? Looks like there is a little extra space, but not much?

About the video card itself, I am concerned about the space, I looked inside of the case, there is a decent amount of clearance around the gtx 260, but I'd love to hear from someone who has tried to replace this card.

    Specifications for standard cards are:

    gtx 260 courses:

height: 4,376 inches, length: 10.5 inches, width: double slot

    recommended psu 500w

    GTX 560 ti

height: 4,376 inches, length: 9 inches, width: double slot

    recommended psu 500w

    GTX 560 ti super clocked

height: 9.4 inches, length: 11.8 inches, width: double slot

    GTX 570

height: 4,376 inches, length: 10.5 inches, width: double slot

    recommended psu 550w

bang for buck the 560 ti superclocked is the best deal, unfortunately they are also the most cumbersome...

    All advice appreciated!

    Hello

The difference will be the distance between the power supply and the optical bays can be annoying.  Open your PC and do some measure and see if a thumb causes less issues.  Don't forget the extra cable lengths.

Tip: When you install the new power supply, remove the front cover, lock the optical drive and slide if forward to facilitate the installation of the power supply. Do the PSU upgrade before you get your PC stable before installing new video card.

These "how-to" HP articles should be useful.

The OCZ has a bus verses double 12 volts the Corsair with a rail.  There is always a debate about who is best. Both have advantages and disadvantages.  I prefer implementing the only bus.  The really big PSUS, all seem to have several buses. The material of the size of the bus which had to bear the whole of the amperage on a bus would be rather substantial with very large power supplies and there are other reasons.

    Hello

Look over this case Rosewill Challenger. It is not very expensive and it allows you to mount the input of the power supply down to the option (on a hard surface is recommended as a carpet could cause problems of air flow).  Don't forget to take into account the width of the case when buying a system of cooling heat sinks cool air are high enough.  This case has a lot of large cooling fans.

The existing media player could be a problem (finish and made search).

I have one using the Rosewill future for one of my PC, but I see that it is out of stock Newegg.

  • Upgrading the hard drive Hp Pavilion g6

    Hello

I'm looking to upgrade my hard drive in my HP Pavilion g6-1d80nr. I do not move much.  Should I get an external hard drive, a new internal hardrive or a SSD?

    Thank you!

    Joey

    Hello

No, we do not use external HARD disk to replace the internal HARD drive. This means that you can quickly use the internal HARD drive or spend more money to get the fastest SSD (since it has no moving parts). It's to you actually. Since SDS is now very cheap good and that your machine will work more quickly (relatively) interms of performance / $, my suggestion: opt for one SSD.

    Kind regards.

  • The card video HP Pavilion A6050Y up-dimmable?

    I have a Pavilion A6050Y, GC381AV, who owns a PS2 Merlot C REG, RoHS PSU 300W and a 256 MB Nvidia Geforce 7500LE graphics card.

It seems that the video card is dying and must be replaced, but HP no longer support this video card. So, I'm looking to replace not only it is possible to upgrade as well. However, I have no idea as to what I can already with or if I would need to replace/upgrade the PSU power SUPPLY or other components at the same time.

I'm not concerned with cost, just to be able to get the computer running properly without having to replace the computer itself.

    Thank you

  • Z640: Upgraded the video card to 1070 GTX. I have to upgrade power supply?

My Z640 has a supply of poer 925w but the power plug 6 pins only I think remaining is not enough to feed my 1070 GTX video card in use heavt. It requires care supply 2 x 8 pins and adapter I installed is not always able to provide enough power. HP chat support wasn't any help. Do I need to install a new power supply that provides power sheets 8 pin pci-e?

    @MacTheSteve, welcome to the forum.

This is Service and Maintenance Guide for the workstation.

I contacted StarTech to see if they would have an adapter 'Y' which had two 8-pin power connectors.  However, those that they should be the following on your motherboard or the power supply:

StarTech Brandon: basically, there are 4 SATA power or LP4 molex.

I believe that your diet is enough power, but simply do not have the required connectors.  At least, I don't the seen on the diagram of the motherboard.  It seems that you need to upgrade the PSU.

  • Compatibility of the P7 1414 HP Pavilion PC graphics cards

Hey I currently have an AMD Radeon Hd 75600. is it possible that I can put in a new graphics as graphics AMD R7. im a little new to this thing whole lol

You are currently using the video solution that is integrated into the CPU. You have identified your Radeon HD graphics with a zero solution too.

    You can install a PCI-e x 16 video card in the PCI-e x 16 available slot.

Be aware that you probably need to upgrade the PSU.  Almost all the games level video cards requires a power supply 450 Watts or more, and one or two 6 - pin PCIe power connectors to.

Your PC comes with a 300 Watt POWER supply and is unlikely to have the six pin PCIe power power connector (s) required.

A map of 850-2GD5/OC A7 like This MSI requires 6 pin PCI-e power connector.

If your office has secure boot enabled, remember that you will probably have to disable in the BIOS so that the new card work when it is installed.

  • HP G5470UK - upgrade the power supply

I want to install a more powerful graphics card but told me that before I do so I need to upgrade the PSU in my G5470uk of the machine.  Currently of 300w, what would be the recommended size of a power supply for this particular stock pc - there is no other upgrade again.

    Thanks in advance

According to the power requirements of the video card you are considering, the Corsair CX430, CX500, CX600, CX500M, or CX600M should meet your needs. These power supplies are highly recommended and are known to adapt to most HP consumer PCs.

    https://us.battle.NET/support/en/article/Diablo-III-supported-video-cards

I don't want to buy one, if it does not work.  Any help is appreciated.

You don't have to a 300 watt power supply with the unit of stock, take into account when it passes a video card unless you're going to upgrade the PSU also.  7750 HD is the best to get without changing your diet, as suggested, and his performance is between the HD 6750 and HD 6770.  The list just does not show the new 7000 series AMD cards or 600 series Nvidia cards.  With the 7750 HD, you will have a card in the category high performance.  You certainly don't want one of these old maps of low performance.
