Dell sells ram upgrade & if so what are the numbers?

Hi launinchun,

Please write to us.

Vostro 220 s supports a maximum of 4 GB of RAM.

Although we have seen some of our customers but which have improved more than the legal limit, that this has worked, for some it was little or no chance.

Unfortunately no, Intel Core 2 Duo, Celeron, Pentium processors only, no Core 2 Quad processors.

  • How to upgrade my 256 MB RAM on the Satellite 2450-201?

How to upgrade my 256 MB RAM on my Toshiba Satellite 2450 201? Where is the RAM located on it?

AFAIK, you can upgrade to max 1024 MB (2x512MB) memory
You use PC2100 DDR - RAM memory modules.
The memory must be located under the keyboard. Remove the keyboard, to first remove the thin cover above the keyboard and remove the 2 screws that are placed under the thin cover.

But if you don't have any experience you shouldn't t do. In this case, contact the service in your country

  • How can I upgrade my PROCESSOR and RAM

Hello, I use a HP Compaq Presario CQ43. There with APU AMD E-450 with Radeon HD graphics card and 2.0 GB of RAM. My question is can I upgrade my processor and RAM 4 GB because I want to play games. If Ican please tell me how? Please help me.

    Your Service Manual:

    Manual

You already have the best processor that can fit on your motherboard which is an AMD version. Theoretically, you can go with a card mother Intel and processor, but that would cost a lot of money (more than a new laptop) and give only slightly better graphics. not yet for the games. To be explicit, the graphics 'card' are not a card, but a single chip directly soldered on the motherboard and cannot be removed, replaced, improved or anything of the sort.

The slightly good news is that you can install up to 8 GB of memory... is the DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM. That will boost the overall performance, but still not make a game by a long shot machine.

  • Power supply Dell Vostro 220 questions

    Hello

We have a Dell Vostro 220, which has power problems.  He started intermittently but now it very rarely powers upward.

The green light in the back where the power cable goes in turns.

When I press the switch, it flashes orange once. Then the two fans start but stop after a second. Then they both start, less than a second. The power switch will Flash orange one more time. Then nothing. In the past, we could try once again and she would start, then it got worse and we need to repeat 10 or 20 times to make it work.  Now it seems that we could try all day and he would never start.

I opened it to the top. Disconnected and reconnected everything and try again - it worked fine. But the next day it turns on again.  So I opened, and even once and this time I changed the CMOS battery. I've start it 3 times now and it has worked well, and the user used for the rest of the day.

However, this morning, he refused to start up again. Same problem as before.

Is there anything else I could try?

    Thank you very much

    Peter.

  • Dell Vostro 220 does not turn on

Hello I have a Dell Vostro 220 desktop computer purchased in 2009.

I noticed yesterday that is not switching on.  When the power cord is plugged into the outlet, I see a green light on the back on the power supply (under the voltage 110V setting) but that's all.  By pressing the push button on the front, nothing, absolutely nothing happens.  No fan, no LED inside.

What can be wrong here? bad power supply or bad mother or push button simply bad diet?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    ndhaya

    It is a Vostro 220 Mini-Tower

No, the power supply fan does not work.

Power LED button is also DISABLED

No there are no beeps at all.

Apart from the green power light on the back near the power cord, there is nothing else...

    ndhaya

First, try to connect the power cord directly into another outlet and see if it makes a difference.

No difference, then replace the power supply with a unit of work to 'know '.

More generic standard ATX power supplies, with a 24-pin or 20 + power connector 4 - pin main motherboard, with or without the on/off switch, would be compatible with the Vostro 220 m

You should be able to buy a compatible power supply either a local computer or online store.

This is false, as a greater power supply and can be installed.

  • Vostro 220 s does not start

I have a 200 s Vostro Dell that will not start. I get the following error:

Playing a disc error has occurred

    Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to restart.

I then tried to boot from the CD/DVD using the Windows Setup disc. I get the following in the Windows Boot Manager error message:

    Status: 0xC00000e9

News: Unexpected i/o error has occurred.

So, I restarted the PC, selected F12 to select Boot Utility Partition. I selected Test system to start Diagnostics equipment, build V1354.1. Once the equipment Disagnostics program began I select Custom Test and run the following hard disk:

Device Quick Check - Get error code 0F00:0132

Drive Self Test - getting error code 0F00:0632

Then, I removed the hard drive from the desktop and placed in the HARD drive docking station. I was able to back up all necessary data and ran the Western Digital Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows application. This indicates that the hard drive passes extended testing and rapid Tests.

Given that Western Digitial App indicates that the hard drive is in good working condition where should I start looking to solve this problem. It comes to motherboard or disk main boot?

Thanks a lot for your help.

How I fixed power supply a Dell Vostro 220, which would not start all the way to the top.

    Two 3300uF 10V, a 470uF 10V were obviously bad.

There were two 3300uF 10V more that didn't look bad, but replaced all four of them in any case.

  • Dell Vostro 220 s turn on but only show black screen on desktop

My 2008 late model Dell Vostro 220 s desktop with power on and go while the start and shows windows starting but when it will go on the desktop, it will just show a black screen. Any help would be nice!

    Thank you

    Darian C.

You can try to start your 220 s in VGA mode (video low resolution).

To start your computer in low video mode resolution, follow these steps:
    1. remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.
    2. hold the F8 key as your computer restarts.
    3. in the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to select Activate video low resolution (640 × 480)and press enter.

If the problem is not reappear low resolution mode, then the question is probably associated driver. You may be able to resolve this problem by updating the video driver with the latest version of Dell or Intel.

  • NB520 - upgrade the BIOS memory RAM

    Hello
I have Toshiba NB520, and I would like to know if it is possible to change to a new 4 GB RAM?
If I replace the 4 GB memory, the computer cannot restart!
do you know why? I try to update the Bios without success.
If an organization can help, thanks
    Best regards
    Scopman

Yes it is possible. I have NB520-11. After reading many threads here I've done my own experiences.
Using 4 GB RAM on preinstalled original Win7 starter doesn't have any effect because only 2 GB will be usable. I've install my own Win7 32-bit Home Premium and system displays now 4 GB installed and about 3 GB will be usable.

To upgrade I ve used 4 GB of RAM on my Satellite P500. There PA3677U-1M4G part number.

  • Satellite U300 - help hardware upgrade to SSD and RAM

    Hello world
I want to completely upgrade my toshiba satellite U300-140, mount VISTA and default the technical features, posted above.

I need your help to choose the best (and economic) device SSD and RAM slot. It is very important for me to know what is probably compatible with my device. Please, could you help me in your experience?

And... an SSD is worthy, at the speed of my laptop? I was thinking about kingston 120 Gb or 240 GB V300

    http://www.Toshiba.it/discontinued-p...Lite-U300-14O/

According to specification for laptop, you can be upgraded up to 4 GB RAM in order to use 2 x 2 GB of RAM. The compatible RAM modules have PA3513U-1M2G part number.

I think with SSD, you shouldn't have any problems. I updated my old P500 with 250 GB Samsung 840 SSD and it works perfectly.
