UPK 3.6.1 silent install does not

Try to install the UPK 3.6.1 in an enterprise by using Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Office 2003 environment.

I ran the install and created a response file according to the installation notes, accepting all the default values of program.

Now when I try to perform a silent installation using the setup.iss file, the Setup log returns "ResultCode =-3" and the application does not install.

I was wondering if someone can suggest what to try next.

Here's what my setup.iss file looks like:

Hi Jason,

A few questions:

1. have you tried to install on more than one machine, and is what happens always, or only in some cases?
2. you are trying to run Setup in silent mode on other XP SP2 machines, or are these different operating systems? The answer file for identical operating systems use.

The ResultCode =-3 said that "required data not found in the Setup.iss file." I have the feeling that the environment where you saved the response file has all necessary third-party applications installed, so that this dialogue has been ignored during installation 'recorded '. It would have been a dialogue after you have selected the option to install (it is not listed in the drop-down list in your answer file, that's why I'm thinking that the machine was updated).

Thus, when you installed on the following machine with the response file, the setup.exe was now looking for this particular dialog in the response file, but it isn't here. For this response file to work, you must make sure the environment where you use all third party apps installed before running the installation in silent mode. If you look at the installer principal place (where the setup.exe) there is a "Third party files" subfolder, with all third party applications used by PUK. Those on these machines to install before running the installation in silent mode.

If none of them are not already installed, install them:

.NET framework 3.5 (in the DOTNET folder)
MS Visual C++ 2008 runtime library (in MS_Visual_C ++ _2008_Redist folder)
MSXML 4.0 (in the MSXML_4.0 folder)
MS Primary Interop Assemblies 2005 (in the Primary_Interoperability_Assemblies_2005 folder)
Web Service Enhancements 3.0 (in the Web_Services_Enhancements folder)

Hope this helps,

Matt

    Hello

I am trying to install the air (native exe) application in C:\Program Files using silent installation, this is the command I use... (tried with the path in quotation marks as well)

It doesn't seem to work with space in folder names in the path.

Darnnit - confirmed this bug - connected internally as #2677272.

It's too late to get a fix in the next update of the execution of AIR (which should be out soon...) but we have this on the fast track to fix in the version to follow (sorry - can't share more details about the schedule).

As a solution for now - can you please try manually escape the quotes in your scope - path and let us know if it works for you (it worked in my test case where I could repro the issue you are experiecing):

I do not understand your question. Download IE8? Do you mean the installer for IE8? It's here.

You try to install KB2618444? They make 3. For IE6, IE7, and IE8. You probably download one from a different version of Internet Explorer you have...
I'm going to guess you really want that for IE8.

Whenever I try to download a game or itunes, I get the Windows error message install does not. I don't know what someone can help me.

    Hello

I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps:

    Method 1:
    Start the Windows Installer service
    1. Click Start, type Services.msc and press {ENTER}
    2. double-click on Windows Installer
    3. set the Windows Installer to Manual startup type
    4. Click Start to start the service. Note the error message, if any.
    5. click on OK.

Method 2: Unregister and re-register Windows Installer to follow the steps below.

    1. click on start, run, type MSIEXEC /Unregister. and then click OK. Even if you
This correctly, it may seem that nothing is happening.
    2. click on start, run, type MSIEXEC/REGSERVER, and then click OK. Even if you
This correctly, it may seem that nothing happens, or you can briefly see an hourglass.
After you run this command, the operation is complete.
    3. try your application based on Windows Installer again.

Method 3: Try the SFC scan on the computer:

  • Total memory of 4 GB newly installed does not appear in the Task Manager

Total memory of 4 GB newly installed does not appear in the tab of the Task Manager performance. Only 3.3 GB appears. Is something wrong with the chopsticks of mem or mem from Vista 32 bit OS limit uses at this level. I have SP2.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929605

"System memory shown in the system information dialog box in Windows Vista is less than expected if the 4 GB of RAM is installed.

This behavior is the expected result of some hardware and software factors.

Various devices in a typical computer require memory-mapped access. This is known as memory-mapped i/o (MMIO). For the MMIO space is available for 32-bit operating systems, the MMIO space must reside in the first 4 GB of address space.

For example, if you have a video card that has 256 MB on-board memory, that memory must be mapped in the first 4 GB of address space. If 4 GB of system memory is already installed, the part of this address space must be reserved by the graphics memory mapping. Graphics memory mapping replaces part of the system memory. These conditions reduce the total amount of memory available to the OS System.

The reduction in available system memory depends on the devices that are installed in the computer. However, to avoid potential driver compatibility issues, 32-bit versions of Windows Vista limit the total available memory to 3.12 GB. See the section 'More information' for more information on potential driver compatibility issues.

If a computer has many features implemented, the available memory can be reduced to 3 GB or less. However, the maximum memory available in 32-bit versions of Windows Vista is typically 3.12 GB.

    See you soon.

  • TE2300 XP install does not start?

    Hello world

I'm trying to reinstall XP on a TE2300 (PT230A-00297) for a friend and met problems to make the installation of Win XP to start disc.

I put a new HARD drive in there and the BIOS boot sequence is set correctly, but the system does not always start from the DVD drive, it seems to ignore that and moves directly to the LAN boot that is next on the list, to be on the HARD drive which is of course not formatted at this stage.

I have an older HARD drive which is on the point of death, who already has XP on it and when it is installed in the machine everything works well and allowed me to confirm that the DVD player works correctly.

Ideas, why the system does not boot to the CD/DVD?

Any ideas how I can start an installation if I can't boot from the CD/DVD?

    Thank you kindly!
    Geoff

It will be interesting to have more info on this new HARD drive.
When you start your laptop try press the C key. This will force the optical disc drive to start as first boot device.

  • Windows XP Pro SP2 re - install does not accept the product key.

I'm trying to re - use the product key on the sticker from the bottom of the laptop.  This is the same computer that was working fine until I decided to reinstall, but I use a different installation media because the laptop (a refurb) never came with the media.  Can I call MS and get it re-authorized?  I have XP Pro SP2 and XP Pro SP3 Reacondicionador media.

You try to install Windows XP with OEM product key you have on your COA sticker. So be sure that you have a generic Windows XP OEM CD, because VLK or Retail CD does not accept the OEM product key.

  • Inspiron 620-7750 Radeon with 450W power supply installed does not start

    Hello!

I have looked EVERYWHERE online and on the forum and have seen several posts on this topic and still not found a solution that works.  I have a Dell Inspiron 620

    • I5Intel Processor2nd Gen Core i5-2310 / 2.9 GHz
    • Memory8 GB / 8 GB (max)
    • Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit Edition operating mode
    • Optical DriveDVD±RW
    • Graphics technology ProcesseurIntel HD Graphics 2000 dynamic video memory 5.0
    • Integrated graphics controller

Recently, I buy a Powercolor Radeon 7750 graphics card I have installed the drivers, uninstalled the current Intel Graphics driver from Device Manager and then install the new card.  I of course unplugged the PSU got rid of and left in power has failed to myself and plugged into the PCI-E.  After I tired to turn on but it does not start.  Fans begin to turn, including on the graphics card, but nothing comes up on the monitor and it won't start.  When I unplugged the 7750 card it starts very well?

At first I thought that it was not powered ridiculously horrible 300w PSU they put so that I have upgraded to an a 450w.  Everything works with the new power supply installed without the card, but as soon as I plug the new map, he continues to not start as before installing the card.  I have searched and tried things for 2 days now and CAN NOT find a solution.  I know that the 620 does not access the menu of the BIOS under settings in advance who does not help (don't know why Dell would never think it was a good idea!) so I can't change anything in there.

Please, any help would be fantastic!

    Thanks in advance!

The card is a bad card.  There should be ZERO problems with the supply of the stock 305 w and a 7750.

  • 10 Windows install does not start

I went to upgrade to Windows 10, when the downloaded GWX-pse_ggl, I went to run it, and nothing happens. Please be aware, even if you do not get the Windows 10 app, you can always download Windows 10 as one. ISO file, create a bootable copy and update your system.
