  • UPNP Audio and Time Capsule

I have 4 Gen Time Capsule.

I have an Arcam AirDAC connected via Ethernet. The AirDAC is an AirPlay / UPNP enabled digital-to-analog converter for audio processing and power of an amplifier.

Arcam say the AirDAC can process all the files an airplay / UPNP device.

So I enabled UPNP (Port Mapping or as Apple calls it) on the TC. What I've done.

But the Arcam app sees nothing. He sees my iPhone music library, but it is a standard feature of iOS. But no matter what I cannot see the audio files in the section shared my TC by using the application.

I don't know if the iPhone gets the TC files then sends them to the DAC - or if its supposed to just 'direct' the AirDAC to find and process the desired files itself on the TC.

Basically I want to just the DAC to treat my library of files FLAC, ALAC, stored on the TC, because they are too large to store on my iPhone / MacBook.

    Any ideas?

So I enabled UPNP (Port Mapping or as Apple calls it) on the TC. What I've done.

Just to be clear... Apple does not support UPNP... and port mapping is not at all the same thing... When you map a port it is corrected... UPNP is an automatic system which opens the ports when necessary, but can negotiate ports that has a fixed layout design can never do.

All of this is irrelevant... UPnP and port forwarding or mapping is entirely to do with remote access to internet files... and the plague of NAT. that is how the router connects us to the internet... It does not in a LAN where all the ports are open by default. You can remove your port cards... they are useless in this configuration.

But no matter what I cannot see the audio files in the section shared my TC by using the application.

There is no server media in the TC... This is nothing more than a dumb box... it stores files... all the intelligence must be managed by the software on your computer or iOS device. Or the media player... what I interpret it DAC is not the case.

Basically I want to just the DAC to treat my library of files FLAC, ALAC, stored on the TC, because they are too large to store on my iPhone / MacBook.

Your player is very probably a streaming device... he can't see the files. Nor can the TC broadcast their... He has no brain.

You must connect to a computer or a more intelligent than a TC device.

Now I don't know the product... So just a quick glance that it is said.

In addition, you can use AirPlay with iDevices running iOS7, to send music to your stereo services such as TuneIn Radio and vTuner Internet radio, as well as streaming music services such as Spotifyand Qobuz.

The airDAC is one of the simplest ways to enjoy your music from your device UPnP, iPhone® / iPad® or computer running iTunes® and brings quality Arcam sound to a whole new generation of music lovers.

I think it's important that you understand... a TC is NOT a upnp device... the port mapping does not make a... and this mixup of terminology does not help.

  • Satellite 510 - Wlan upnp sharing question

    Hello

I have a Sat 510 Windows 7, I connect to my network through a wireless access point.
Everything seems to work except upnp sharing from my laptop which does not recognize some devices, same XBOX360 connect / even though I can see it on the network.

When I connect wired, sharing upnp works very well.
I have an XP machine alongside and with no problems or wireless, both machines are running the same norton firewall.

I tried everything I can think but do not know if it is a framework for Win 7 or fault or a hardware problem with point of access or Toshiba.

    See you soon

    Hello

To be honest, I've never heard of upnp sharing but to use special ports, allow the latter in your router configuration and firewall software (Norton).
    Check it!

In addition, I would recommend updating the firmware on your router and install the last driver WLAN.
Also check the network on Windows 7 configuration!

  • R7000: UPNP Renderer not visible when connected via WiFi

    Hi all

I use the R7000 as a router and I have the problem that my UPNP renderer (Denon DNP-F109) is not visible if connected via WiFi (via Ethernet, everything works very well).

Can someone give me a clue what to do here?

I went on DHCP and UPNP in the configuration. All UPNP (Server/converter/controller) devices are in the same 192.168. * network.

    Thank you very much

    Hello Stefan,

Please perform a reset of the device and check again if still the same problem.

  • UPnP enabled or disabled?

If you ask the forums safe and almost everybody says it turns off for safety reasons okay now, but if you play games on xbox live and use the port forwarding at each moment one then the router merges and the game displays thos even moderate nat, that the router is already set to open why nat netgear has not set?

Maybe I should try triggering port that's not broken?

Some say simply activate UPnP are but what everybody out there that says no cuz its bad to have on what then?

    using
    V1.0.3.80_1.1.38 firmware version

If you can trust all the devices on your local network, i.e. are sure none will be malicious software that could take advantage of UPnP, then you can activate it, one of the benefits of UPnP are that the ports are open when you use it. Have you tried running with UPnP, does that help?

  • There are no property in UPnP device M1000 in my network places?

I have a name M1000 sometimes classified in bookmarks network Upnp device.  Because XP sees this device, he notified me the first time when he installed it.  I have a Qwest dsl, M1000 model, with firewall settings modem, set the setting 'high' by default.  Is this the same device?

Open my network places shows a network icon (part of the time.)  When I right click on this generic icon, select Properties, Windows will tell me that this device does not exist on my network, and no properties are also available.   Invocation (whatever it is) does not work either.  Close and then reopen it will lead to a non-compliant behavior.  Never the window reappears.

When this is done, restarting the computer will always cause explorer.exe suspended and restart will hang unless I force close using the box leave the program explore.

    Why is this happening?

Other than this issue, XP works fine.

    Bill Sanderson,

Thank you for your response.  I don't think it was supposed to be here, either.  Since I wrote, there has been no other incidents with the computer hooked to restart.  Maybe install Windows Defender helped?  I also use Sandboxie in most browsing situations.

  • WRT54GS UPnP cut wide Internet access

Hello, everyone! Having an Apple TV for about a year and just recently get a Roku, I noticed a strange question. Whenever I use UPnP to broadcast locally videos, all access to the internet are cut off and stays off until I unplug the router and plug it back. LAN works very well, so continuous streaming (and works very well), but there is no access to the outside. Is there something I can do to fix this; is this a case of a broken router or a bad internet service?

One other common Media Streaming Server is DLNA. On a Windows computer, this option is enabled through Windows Media Player and your DLNA capable devices will be able to see your Windows user like pictures, videos and music files.

  • Cisco Linksys E4200 v2 fails to process UPNP requests

Bought a new router E4200 v2 version last month and replaced my dlink dir-655 and I started to see the alerts on my server at home that it is impossible to configure the router.

Already checked on the router that UPNP is enabled. already tried disabling the firewall, ipv4 and ipv6 and turning too wide "filter applications anonymous Internet", but does not

then in WHS 2011 troubleshooting guildline, I ran a router online test tool: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/using/tools/igd/results.mspx

and all tests passed except "Testing UPNP" and the poster details a mistake:

'Test 5 - UPnP Support Test not supported

    Result:

The operating system is Windows Vista
    The firewall is turned on

Exceptions are provided by the firewall

UPnP is enabled by the firewall

    UPnP services are running

    Discovery of UPnP is enabled

Detect Internet gateway on the network devices

    2 RMI (s) found

    The IGD device information:

    Name manufacturer: Cisco

    Model name: RMI

    Model number: v1.0

    get_StaticPortMappingCollection() returns NULL IStaticPortMappingCollection

    get_StaticPortMappingCollection() returns NULL IStaticPortMappingCollection

    get_StaticPortMappingCollection() returns NULL IStaticPortMappingCollection

Could not get the IGD port mapping ".

Now, it seems that my router is bad or cisco/linksys does not support this API and is not compatible.

is there a way to fix this?

    * Firewall can block almost all of the ports used by P2P clients. Check if the BitTorrent ports are made available to customers requesting. Disable the firewall of the router and enable uPnP features allow the BitTorrent ports to pass through.

    * As E4200 is a new Cisco router usually have a good level of security, and unless you have a good configuration configured on the router it can block the software work that uses UPNP.

    * If the ISP updates for IPV6 nodes still functionality for IPV4 will exist as the Lauch of IPV6 also depends on the hardware compatibility

So, once reset the router for Hard Reset 30/30/30

The following procedure will clear the NVRAM and set the router back to the default values:

With the power on, press and hold the reset button the back of the unit for 30 seconds
Without releasing the reset button, unplug the unit and hold reset for another 30 seconds
Plug in the appliance ALWAYS keeping the reset button a final 30 seconds...

Then reconfigure the router once more and then check the concern...

  • DDNS and UPnP problems on camera WVC80N

For weeks, I had problems with the two things I mentioned in the subject field. I talked to a high level Tech Support of Linksys Sunday, but she has disabled my my UPnP on my router, although does not happen because if I do that then I might as well get rid of my account TZO, which happens next month if I renewed it. I keep getting error messages, it is both of my cameras WVC80N but now it's only on one of them. The message says the DDNS: impossible to get a current public IP address some of this, but a lot of this UPnP: Internet gateway UPnP discovery failure. I have a WRT160N V3 router, it still registers on the motion, but if the UPnP problem keeps it can't save when the problem occurs. I have TimeWarner cable, may be the problem with them?

I did everything last night around 17:42, and so far it has worked for more than 24 hours. Top Tech support told me this Sunday, but on the router, he wanted me to turn off UPnP I told her that I couldn't do because I wouldn't be able to log in to my account TZO if I turn it off. But all the other things he said to me you also told me to do and the wizard said for me to do. As I said for more than 24 hours. now, it seems to work

    Thank you guys

I think my problems just DDNS might be with TZO

  • UPnP EA6900 problem

Has brought an EA6900 a few days ago and set up correctly. The wire that is connected to 1 PC and 1 PS3.
But the problem is, even I enabled Upnp in EA6900, opened the ports of PS3, assigned a static IP address to the PS3.

implementation of DMZ and entry info IP manually into the PS3, he always says 'not available' Upnp.

More information, my home network is DHCP, using cable CAT7 for PS3 and PC and router.

Is this something that I am missing?

For some reason any EA6900 jams feature upnp after an hour or two. Deactivation and reactivation upnp he brings back to life. Might be a bug with the latest firmware.

  • The UPnP options

    Just a quick question,

For most Linksys routers, UPnP has 3 options:

    UPnP: Enabled

    Allow users to configure: Enabled

Allow users to disable Internet access: Enabled

Question: What exactly is the operation/functions 'Internal' of the two options of 2nd.

If I am game on a PS3 / Xbox 360/PC and my application calls specifically for UPnP as Dungeon Siege, or Modern Warfare 2 or Halo 3 (examples) "Power off" of those other 2 options will have a negative effect on the capacity of UPnP to automatically opening and closing of ports for these 3 systems and their applications?

Or are these options really just who comes to toggle the ability to 'Manual' to force open/closed ports in your Windows operating system, network neighborhood visit, etc. But will not affect the automatic functions of the UPnP capabilities?

I'm looking for something if all goes well beyond the text of the manual, as it leaves usually pertaining to these questions on important details.

Okay, so I did some extensive testing...

A huge reason why there are a ton of people who cannot get their Xbox360 or PS3 to work with UPnP is because you NEED these TWO options "ENABLED" (if you use UPnP and not Port Forwarding or DMZ)

UPnP = the option to use for "Multiple" game systems behind the Router 1.

    So here it is:

    ROUTER:

    UPnP = 'activated '.

    Allow users to configure: "enabled."

If "allow users to configure" is disabled, it PREVENTS the PS3/Xbox360 capabilities "Automatic" UPnP of configuring your ports for you.

Why 'Enable you UPnP' but 'Disable' the option 'allow users to configure?

Well, the option "UPnP" itself, just makes your network to 'See' the devices. The second option, "Allowing users to set up" is very misleading. Yes allows you to configure your UPnP ports "manually" If you wanted to, but it must ALSO be enabled for UPnP 'Automatically' open/close ports on its own for you.

    * In addition, please be aware, that on some routers "Multicast" traffic must be allowed for the Playstation and Xbox to properly use UPnP and network in order to access some features.

Security > "Filter Multicast" should be "Disabled unchecked =" that "allows to" multicast traffic.

  • Using Linksys router wireless hackers to break in via UPnP port?

It has rather "likely" but not a "must be".

It could be your computer (if you connect wired or wireless to the router).

It could be a virtual machine on your computer (if you are using vmware or similar software).

It could be Windows (you can configure Windows to use 2 IP addresses, although not two addresses DHCP).

I recommend you open a command prompt window. Enter 'arp - a' and check if it lists other than router and iP addresses. If it shows a different IP address with a MAC address you have something else connected somewhere.

With regard to the scans: I can't tell what someone is trying to access. Maybe someone is trying to access other ports as well and they don't get connected. Or perhaps there is no other access (i.e. someone connects to your network and then the discovery of Windows UPnP standard product that is causing the alerts on your computer but that's all).

For example, if you only see the UPnP port alerts in your firewall logs, it is likely that nobody tries to hijack your computer. I would say it is more likely a normal computer connected to your network using your internet connection. But it is impossible to say for sure without checking the network traffic with a lot of attention.

I would recommend that you check your configuration first.

1 are you sure that you do not have any of your wireless device that will connect to your network (i.e. game consoles, wireless phone, etc..)?

    2. check the wiring. Is there anything else that connected to the router?

    3. check the configuration of the router. Have you changed the password "admin" to the router?

    4. have you changed the default SSID "linksys" at something? Have you enabled security WPA2 Personal wireless with a password strong?

    5. are you sure it's your router? Are you sure that you are connected to your router and not your neighbor? Maybe you had wireless network "linksys" default configured in your computer when you first your router and you never removed from your list of favorite networks. Now your neighbor got a router linksys with the default settings and in fact your computer connect wireless to your neighbor and you see computer your neighbor...

    6. you have enabled on the router remote management?

    7. what router do you have? Check the label below for exact model and version.

    8. what version of firmware you have on the router? Check in the web interface.

To reset the router it is probably better to reset to the factory settings by pressing the reset button for 30 seconds to remove all the parameters of fake/hacked that can exist. Then reconfigure your router from a computer connected to the router. You need to change the password for "admin" on the Administration page to a password strong. You will need to change the "SSID" "linksys" to something unique. You have to active personal WPA2 security with AES encryption and a strong password for the maximum level of security.

You should also clean the list of preferred wireless networks on your computer to remove any that you don't need really. Then reconnect your computer to your new SSID and enter the password. That should do it. Now you have a secured wireless network.
