  I have the #149 display alarm on my Dell Rack UPS 1000W. The user manual says that this alarm is "a string of battery has been detected and therefore, the charger is disabled". Reinstalling the battery has not resolved the error. I changed the battery with an another similar UPS and no errors appear, then the problem could be in the inverter and not related to the battery. What could wrong if not the battery? New test can I do? Simply re - enable recharging?

  This problem may be caused by the old firmware, bad connection, bad battery, or a faulty inverter. I suggest that you fix the error, the firmware update, if a newer version is available and exchange the battery with one of the other your inverter. If the error returns parts need to be replaced. Has he returned on another UPS that you moved the battery then it seems to me the battery. If he returns to the origin UPS error would with a different battery then I would suspect a faulty inverter.

• Service Dell UPS 2700W battery warning

  Yesterday, one of our Dell UPS 2700W pulled an alarm and the error log reports as 149 alarm.  According to the manual, here's the description:

  "Has a string of bad battery."
  detected and consequently, summer
  the charger is off.

  The recommended action is to "Communicate with your service representative."  I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this error message.  What exactly does that mean and can I do short of Dell in fact call for help.

  I appreciate any help or suggestions.  For now, the backlight on the display front is orange instead of blue and the there is a battery icon will blink with a line through it.

  In addition, the Dell UPS management software shows that everything is working normally, so I'm confused.

  The error is a mistake General battery. Make sure the firmware is version 1.12 or later and reinstall the battery. Next, you need to clear the error from the console of the inverter. If the error returns then the battery will probably be replaced.

  I swithched on my laptop but I have nothing on the screen. I tried to reboot several times, but it did not help. If I look very carefully, I see the logo of Intel (black text on white on the screen) but nothing else. The logo shows very low.

  I plugged on the external monitor. With that he gives a little more. The Intel logo with the instruction how to reach configuration etc. Then Windows logo but when it should ask the user, the external monitor going to sleep mode and nothing happens after that.

  And an external monitor, I managed to connect to Windows in safe mode and also in VGA mode. In VGA mode, I tried to change the resolution, after that I got black screen again and I had to start.

  Now I wonder if I could do something (update of drivers, etc.) or should I go to the store where I bought the laptop and ask them to fix it. This look like a problem covered by the warranty?

  I turned on the laptop again. I thing the lightning from the room is now better because I noticed that the laptop seems to work (almost) correctly. Windows starts normally, I can faintly see the desktop. This seems to be a problem in the background ligthning. FnF7 does not change the situation.

  This sentence is very interesting.
  Sounds like a question of FL-ups!

  It is a small part behind the screen and control the backlight of the screens.
  Usually, this part is not very expensive and the replacement is not complicated to a technician for laptop.

  If your warranty is valid, then everything should be done for free.
  Try to contact the ASP in your country and ask for later handling.

  Hi all

  I recently ran a question with the DSC alarm event & logging. I have a number of all shared variables libraries set up to record data and alarms at the Citadel. I double checked that the library itself is configured for data recording and alarms, as well as all the variables. Using the DSM, I can see all alarms active in the system across all libraries and can receive all the alarm by program change events.

  For some reason, alarms to one of the libraries are logging, and attempt to query the historical events & alarms via MAX raise an error at about 14 of 15 times (with no code error or indication of why it fails). I have also tried to check the database of the Citadel, with it fails with an error unspecified (presumably during archiving on the side of things alarms, archive data seems to work).

  Can anyone offer an overview on how to solve the problem, preferably without data loss? In addition, how can I avoid this problem in the future?

  Thanks for the suggestion. I tried the llb related, but it could not remove existing data. That said, I managed to resolve the issue.

  Removal of the database of alarms (not only the alarms), did the trick. My approach was:

  1. stop all libraries through DSM

  2. create the new base of Citadel by MAX

  3. use DSC Archive Traces VI to check in the footsteps of the database active for the newly created database

  4. remove the active database

  5 detach the new database

  6. move the new database on disk for the location of the old database

  7. set the new database with the same name as the old database

  8. start all libraries

  At this point all the alarms started logging in correctly and I can query the alarms without problem. The system is on a UPS now, so I hope that any future power failure does not affect the things.

• UPS for 24 volts DC PXI chassis

  Phoenix Contact has 24 VDC UPS.  They alarm contacts to give warnings when it goes on the backup battery.  You can use a digital input of your system to read the State of alarm contacts and use it to stop your program and system.

• Questions about ESX + UPS Solutions and soft stop

  Hello everyone.  I am very new to VMWare, so please pardon my beginner questions and I hope I have posted this in the correct location.

  I am currently working as a developer for Tripp Lite.  Our companion based on SNMP ups (UPS) software product is the sequel to PowerAlert, and I received a few days worth of time to do more research on the possibility of supporting VMWare ESX/ESXi and stop the server.  I did some research on this last month, where I found the scripts by William Lam and an alternative SSH (http://vmwaretips.com/wp/2009/01/16/mass-vm-shutdown-script/).

  I understand there are a few methods scripted to make judgment, which one can be found here: http://viops.vmware.com/home/docs/DOC-1341.  A second solution is to install APC PowerChute interface (available only on ESXi?) command line.

  The main issues I have at the moment are:

  1 can all install VIMA?  Is a closure that installs on VIMA and runs from this platform a viable, or is the command-line support interface option a must - have for the general user base?  VIMA and the developer (http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vima/vima10/doc/vima10guide.pdf) Administrator's Guide leads me to believe that anyone can install VIMA, and that it just comes not preinstalled on servers that are provided with the interface of the console.

  with the release of vSphere, a new version of vMA should also be discontinued which has some changes, but the underlying system of RHEL is exactly the same.

  The real witch hunt, this is how you'll be powering down of the VM (s) / hosts and even once, ideally, we would like to use the VI API, but you'll be govered by the VMware licensing policy and this is how you sell your product in order to ensure that your customers use at least the Foundation license and can not only use the FREE ESXi version and use your UPS utility and expect it to work.

  I see that after installing iOS 10 on your iPad, when you select a certain song to clock app to use it as a default alarm sound of the radar. This is not the case with all the songs, but it comes up with a few very regularly. I can understand wanting to use many songs for your alarms, I have this on my iPhone.

  It seems that the clock app is not responding as it should. I suggest go ahead and force close the clock application, then set a new alarm, and retest with these same songs. The following article will help you: force a nearby application on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
