URL doesn't fully load as if firefox run as administrator! Why?

I have a URL I want to see. The URL stopped working on my laptop computer based Vista but still works OK on my windows 7 based PC.

The URL is "http://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=GBP & to = CHF & view = 1 M".

The bit that does not work is the display of the chart and I discovered earlier that uses the flash and Java.

Thinking I had somehow discarded to the top of my Installation of Firefox I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Having previously saved and then restored by the Favorites and passwords (using the password exporter Addon).

None other than default Addons outside exporting password and add block.

I discovered that if I start the newly installed Firefox normally figure on the URL does not, but if I run Firefox as administrator the graphic URL appears correctly.

I'm not very happy about running normally Firefox as administrator!

Can anyone tell what is the cause of this or give me an alternative, less drastic detour around the issues.

Thanks in advance.

PS I suspect it's a question that might require the attention of one of the developers of Firefox.

This doesn't seem to be a question of protected mode because after doing the "ProtectedMode = 0" the problem disappeared.

Still don't understand why flash introduced the amendment if the net result means that flash has gone from something that works in something that no longer works. Of course, it is safer. There is no problem to use something that does not work because it is not adjusting to the departure.

    I tried several times to contact support, but have not been able to get well. I have a trial (try actually the second time), but are not yet able to test Lightroom/CC. I wanted to try the room light I use Capture 1 now.

    My question is this: the Downloader or installer will load only if I "Run as Administrator" and then it crashes every time in seconds. I even tried the Adobe application that will go well and remove all the remains of the previous software hoping that he would, but no solution. It will continue to act as his footstool, consumption of RAM, but do nothing else than the loop on the same screen. I have to force quit the program so that he could even respond. I'm a little confused on where to go with it. Thank you!

    Your UserAgent string in Firefox is totally messed up by another program that you have installed and Barclays does not know you use Firefox 3.6.6 - it is probably similar to IE 6.0 on this site.

  • xdg-open does not take into account the url and opens the different website when Firefox is the default browser in Ubuntu

    I am running Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit with Firefox version 38 for Ubuntu
    It is complected, and I tried to explain everything clearly.

    Today, I noticed a strange behavior.
    I have several URL saved as .desktop files.

    I use webupd8.org as example.
    The code for the exec in the desktop file is:
    Code:

    Exec=xdg-open http://www.webupd8.org/

    Today, I noticed that if I try to go to webupd8.org, or most of the other sites, by launching the .desktop file for this site, or by typing the url
    Code:

    http://www.WebUpd8.org/

    in the dashboard Firefox opens to a completely different site. The site that opens is a site that I set up for my children's grandparents to watch videos and see photos of the children. This Web site opens each time. I'm not be directed to a site at random each time. This is the case when I try to visit the webupd8.org OR one of several websites using .desktop file or enter the url you want in the dashboard. Whenever I went to my own domain.

    It happens that I have also several sites registered in a reminder in the Firefox icon in the Launcher sidebar thing in Ubuntu.
    In the case of the beast, the exec code is slightly different and it still responds as it should. In this case, I have:
    Code:

    Exec = firefox-new-tab http://www.webupd8.org/

    Also, if I change my default in opera browser, for example as .desktop files and entering the url directly in the dashboard work as it should.

    To recap:

    When Firefox is the default browser, enter a url in the dashboard or use a to surf to a desired site .desktop file causes my be redirected to my own domain name (which is hosted remotely and not on this computer).

    If, however, I change the Exec command in the .desktop file
    Code:

    Exec=xdg-open <url>

    TO
    Code:

    Exec = firefox-new-tab < url >

    the .desktop file will open Firefox and go to the desired site.

    If I change the browser by default Firefox to another browser, everything works as it should and has always so far. That is, with the Opera for example, both
    Code:

    Exec=xdg-open <url>

    and
    Code:

    Exec = firefox-new-tab < url >

    result in the browser by opening and going on the planned site. Typed a url in the dashboard is not a problem if the default browser is not Firefox.

    Anyone seen this before? If so, how to solve it?

    Thank you very much for your answers!
    I checked the url of the home page in Firefox and it has been set at startpage.com, but then when I looked at the default programs in Ubuntu, I noticed that the default program for the web had been unintentionally configured to use a .desktop file that leads to t he admin for my Web site login page.

    I changed this back to Firefox and the problem was solved.

  • Satellite Pro M40: screen remains dark until Windows has fully loaded

    Hello to all here.
    I have a problem with my laptop. My laptop is a Satellite Pro M40.

    When I turn on my laptop, I found the backlight won't come... the screen will stay dark until it has fully loaded into Windows. I've checked all my food, and there all fine options. Even if I can get the Bios screen its impossible to read the txt because without backlight. I tried to hold the Fn & F7... joy of Noy.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Richard

    Hello Richard

    I didn't see anything like that before and I'm a bit confused why you can't see the BIOS settings, but running the OS. Use of the FN + F7 key combination won't help because this option only works on Windows and not on the level of the BACK.

    If possible try to plug the external monitor and test again. In any case I put t think you can fix it yourself. Try please contact Toshiba authorized partner in your country. Explain the situation and see what they say.

    If you discover that something please let us know. It will be really interesting to know why this happen.

  • Firefox remembers the story-why?

    Hi guys! My firefox does remember any history at all. Of course, the privacy settings say: "don't forget history." Everything else (bookmarks and this work very well.) I did a "reset firefox" twice; no change. There is an article of a person with similar problems, but vital pieces of information are missing, so I can't reproduce exactly what the problem was and how it was resolved. Suggestions anyone? (should be added: windows 7, the latest version of firefox...)

    The history can be deleted or not saved several ways;

    • (1) private Firefox running in Mode (nothing is recorded)
    • (2) privacy settings (Type Subject: preferences #privacy< Enter >)
      in the address bar.)
    • (3) many disk cleaners and antivirus programs may delete data from browsers. Open the settings and let the only browsers.
    • (4) mal-ware.

  • Firefox asks me if I run as administrator, but then won't let me install.

    I have download firefox, when I try to install it tells me that I may not have permission to perform all tasks as an administrator and then gave me a password, I do not know, and if I click on as an administrator of the computer, it stops.

    Have you tried to run the Firefox installer as administrator (right click: Run as Administrator)?

    How can I find? How can I fix it?
    Thank you.

    Sometimes, when you tell Firefox to close, part of it will not close.
    On Windows, there is a program called the Task Manager. This can be used to
    close programs that otherwise will not close properly. I do not know
    How it is called on a Mac, but you may have something like the Task Manager.

  • I've updated Windows 8.0 Windows 8.1, since Firefox run a bit oddly. In particular, when on the sites with lots of images like Facebook, etc.

    Hello, I am writing because I have a few problems with my favorite browser after update to 8.1 Windows. Here are some details. I've updated Windows 8.0 Windows 8.1, since Firefox run a bit oddly. In particular, when on sites with lots of images like Facebook. It's as if there is some sort of effect of Flikr between the office and the images, as well as between the images and the browser (a bit like old flikering of 16-bit video games). It's not too bad, but it's a question. I tried to reset firefox and restart the computer. I have not tried a repair, and I haven't done an uninstall.

    Hello, disable hardware acceleration in firefox should a restart of the application is taken into account. have you tried that too?

    Please also see if there is an available update your graphics drivers ...
