URL of the Remote Console

Guys,

I need to generate the url of the remote console for all virtual machines in a given VC and export them to a txt file. The research on the url I see VC encodes the vm - ID in base64. I don't see any cmdlet that will allow me to convert this string. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you

Jason

OK, I went ahead and wrote a script that will generate the URL without using the pssnapin PSCX.

It uses only .net methods, so support should be no problem.

Since there is not a lot of hooks in the script, use the attached file.

It shouldn't be too hard for this roll in a function and generate URLS for all your guests

My understanding is that if I click again on the link "Generate the URL of the remote console" it would generate a new URL and therefore the user would not be able to access this virtual machine, and more but please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Thanking you in advance,

The web URL is a simple link.  You manage access through the VI Client and VM Templates, to show all of your VM.  Restrict access.  They may have the URL, but they cannot access the virtual machine if they do not have a user or group to this virtual machine.

  • Error when connecting with the Remote Console

We get the attached error when you click on a paralytic to vCloud Director.  The inner coating IP address is the ip address of the proxy console.  Any ideas what might be causing this error?  I thought, it might be something with my SSL certificate, but I'm not sure.

    1. it's a Windows 7 view Client using IE 9

See the installation and configuration (https://www.vmware.com/support/vcd/doc/rel_notes_vcloud_director_10.html) guide, IE 9 is not supported, and only browsers supported on Windows 7 are Windows and Firefox 3.* 8.*.

    2. it takes about 1 minute and 45 seconds, but the error pops up 2 seconds after the Remote Console window opens.

Certainly, that's the problem here. It shouldn't take 1 minute and 45 seconds for the remote console to pop up window, in fact, I would say that it should begin in a few seconds (certainly less than 10 seconds). You are not sure if it's because of IE 9?

4 see attachment log of error messages when trying to access the virtual machine

The error message looks like it tries to connect to my server vCenter.  Do the users who are connected to vCloud Director must be able to connect on the server vCenter Server?  I thought it would just use the user that configure you when you connect on the vcenter Server.

The console proxy (a component of the cell of vCloud Director) acts as a proxy for users connected to vCloud Director. It is the latter that connects to your vCenter Server server, and that's what you read in the papers.

Try this on any other OS/browser support matrix. In addition, if you can dig why it takes more than 10 seconds for the remote console to the pop-up window, you would have found yourself a solution. If this does not work, contact the Support of VMware.

  • ESX using the Remote Console connection

    Hello everyone.

I need your advice about connecting to ESX using the remote console.

When I try to connect to using the remote console ESX vsphere Client, sometimes borrowed is broken. then I try to find out what is happening.

It seems that gateway setting which is the cause of connection page. The failure of connection every time, gateway ESX is different from the vsphere client gateway.

Are there requirements when connecting ESX using the remote console, like ESX gateway should be corresponding to gateway of vsphere client or something...

    {I would appreciate any information, THNAK I YOU: 8}

Remember that the bridge will depend on the network, the device is turned on - so if your ESX server and the computer running the vSphere client are on the same network then yes they should have the same gateway.

  • network flow - how to get the URL of the remote endpoint?

    Hello!

I have a project running with a host to send messages to a target of RT (cRIO) via the network stream.  It works very well.  Now, I want to set up a feed back from the target to the host, but I'm stuck on a technicality: is it possible for the reader to automatically extract the network of remote endpoint address in order to implement the return flow?  I looked in the node property expecting to find something like "URL of remote endpoint", but I can't.   As a solution I might always have the host send its address as a message through the first stream as part of initialization, but which seems to be a shame as the target clearly already knows the address of his partner.  Am I missing something obvious here?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

Why do you need IP address of the host in the target?

You need create endpoint writer on the target and create endpoint of reader in the home by giving the IP address of the target. I put what I hear in the images below.

    Point endpoint target writing:

    Point endpoint host drive:

    Maybe I'm missing something...?

    Dear Sir:

After having updated the latest Firmware [Dell your 2161DS digital switch, Firmware, Multi OS, Multi language, Multi system, v.3.1.0.0, 1.3 (A03-00)] and restore the default settings. We do this directly through the Remote Console software.  Seeing the log in window, the user name is "Admin" and there is no password.  We can access in the switch, but "Admin" a/c is missing from the "User" settings category. So we can't change the Admin password.

Could you help us to change any password Admin password?

    Thank you

    Thank you

    Hi all

Currently, if you use the license free hypervisor, most operations will fail - the host is essentially unchangeable.

It is a known problem. At this stage there is no solution except to retreat on the evaluation license.

Rest assured, we are trying to address this issue.

  • Is there a stand-alone client to start remote consoles?

    Hello

currently I am struggling to navigate through all of the GUIs to launch HTTP console remotely on servers I want. I see it's java-based app that downloads automatically when I click to start the remote console.

But I was wondering if there was a tool that would allow me to directly launch onoly consoles without the need to go to ISU, HTTP etc. ? This would save a lot by clicking on. I know that IBM has a free stand-alone java client which makes life really much easier to start the remote console and switch between the blades. Is there anything like this available for DELL servers?

Tried running this jnlp but it fails with access denied without even asking for credentials... so I assumed it is only use unique applet?

Thanks for the tips and suggestions

I know this is an old thread, but if someone were to happen on it and see the answer previously suggested they would assume that it's impossible, but from iDRAC7 (gen 12 PowerEdge or later), you can connect to the remote console using VNC.

Document access to remote desktop using VNC on Dell PowerEdge servers from Dell here.

  • DRAC5 remote console no longer work after 51 Java Update

    Hello world!

After the usual Java (at 51 update of Java 7) update the remote console does not start no more. The java application launcher shows a "unable to launch the application" - error. Here are some details:

The DRAC firmware version: 1.65 (12.08.16)

java.lang.SecurityException: missing required permissions manifest attribute in the main container: https://drac.example.com:443/plugins/vkvm/avctDRAC5Viewer.jar

    at com.sun.deploy.security.DeployManifestChecker.verifyMainJar (unknown Source)
    at com.sun.deploy.security.DeployManifestChecker.verifyMainJar (unknown Source)
    at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.doLaunchApp (unknown Source)
    at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.run (unknown Source)
    at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:744)

I hope that Dell will provide a fix as soon as POSSIBLE.

OK - there is a work around:

The DRAC5 systems add to the 'Site Exception list' (this can be done in the Java Control Panel in the "Security" section).

However, it would be nice if Dell would fix this in any upcoming firmware version.

  • How to deploy JCA adapter with JDev on Remote Console of OSB

    Hello world

I struggle to understand how to move my adapter JCA created using JDev (11 g) on the Remote Console of OSB Oracle.

I read something on the Internet, for example:

Call a procedure/function Oracle OSB | Oracle SOA blog

but I don't understand the part on:

    "........

As you can see in JDeveloper, it created a file XSD, WSDL and jca. Then, you must copy these files to the project Oracle OSB.

If you are using the Console Web of OSB Oracle you must manually set the location of the schema. This is done by clicking on the button Edit references in the WSDL definition.

Now that you have all files in Oracle OSB. Click on 'Generate WSDL and service' button. And whola you have now created a business service that you can use to call the stored procedure"

All the suggestions/help will be appreciated.

    Thank you!
