Hello wdh, you could try to go to the ORB start and in the run box, type msconfig. A small window should open and display the Startup tab, click the Advanced tab and make sure the maximum memory box in the right corner is not checked.

Close out of this window, restart the system and then see if the correct memory is displayed.

    Hello

According to me, you are subject to the 32-bit memory limit that occurs in Windows.

The limit is 4 GB, so you would need a 64 bit OS to make full use of your 8 GB.

Mark Russinovitch, a highly respected person wrote...

    32-bit Client effective memory limits

While 4 GB is the limit for 32-bit client SKUS, the effective limit is actually lower and depends on the chipset of the system and the devices connected. The reason is that the physical address plan includes not only the RAM but memory of the camera as well, and x 86 and x 64 memory card all the unit below the limit to address 4 GB to stay compatible with 32-bit operating systems that do not know how to handle addresses above 4 GB. If a system has 4 GB of RAM and devices, such as video, audio and network cards that implement windows in their memory of the apparatus which amount to 500 MB, 500 MB of the 4 GB of RAM will reside above the limit to address 4 GB, as shown below:

The result is that, if you have a system with 3 GB or more of memory and you use a 32-bit Windows client, you may not be to the benefit of all of the RAM. On Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista RTM, you can see how many RAM Windows facing it in the Properties dialog box system, page Manager's performance of tasks and, on Windows XP and Windows Vista (including SP1), in Msinfo32 and Winver utilities. On Windows Vista SP1, some of these places changed RAM installed, rather than RAM available, such as documented in this Knowledge Base article.

  • Usable memory (RAM) less than the installed memory, showing remove Win7 dual-boot.

Original title: "Memory (RAM): 12,00 GB (3.62 GB usable)", how can I resolve this issue and remove a dual boot Win7?

I recently, after experincing problems (see below the Intel SSD), noticed the system said that there is only a 3.62 GB of Ram available in my computer.  I have this statement ' Installed Memory (RAM): 12,00 GB (3.62 GB usable) "the computer has always used a higher around 10-11 GB amount.

I noticed that the Windows performance index was 5.6, after adding an Intell 240 GB SSD, it jumped to 7.6; However, now with the problems is 5.4, caused by the RAM.

I ran the full memory diagnostics: start-up and verification of memory it says I have 12 GB of RAM can be used across both.  I asked with Asrock if my RAM and CPU compatible before buying it, and they said it was a wise decision for 970 Extreme4 motherboard.  I subsequently has inquired about the Kingston RAM and included information from a - Data, and they said they used Kingston ringout for approval process as with a - DATA, including the compatibility of the different types of RAM used together.  The RAM was tested and is placed on the store of the computer.
This problem did not exist until I installed the Intel SSD.

I don't have a problem with dual boot on my computer after installing a new 7 ultimate on the SSD, and when it worked normally, I atttached the old hd back into your computer, because important data it contains.  This caused a situation of dual-boot.  I did some research and jumped the drive as a slave thinks that it would not cause a problem.  How can I remove Windows 7 from the old hd and then remove the window dual-boot.  I tried the old way to change the startup configuration, however, I can't find it in 7 Ultimate SP1. I also sent the old HD and the start window remained, as the index and the usable Ram 3.62.

    My Questions as already said:
How can I return to a usable 12 GB of RAM and return the highest Index of Exp Win?
How the dual boot can be edited to boot from my SSD without window startup and remove window 7 my old HD eventually without formatting?

    Hi Ernest,

You can use the Microsoft Security Scanner which is free to scan your computer to get rid of the virus or malware.

Once you scan your computer, check to see if you can view the files and images that seem to have lost.

  • installed memory of Windows 7 Professional 32 bit - 4 GB ((Mo 935 usable)

I have problem with my hp pavilion g6 series.

I installed windows 7 Professional 32 bit, 4 GB memory, but usable only 935,
Core i5 with chipset intel. should I update bios for this.
    can someone give good solution.
    Thank you
    Sikandar

    Hi Sikandar,

Let us work together to solve this problem.

This is expected behavior on computers that are running Windows 7. The reduction in available system memory depends on the configuration of the following:

    ·        The devices that are installed in the computer and the memory reserved by these devices

    ·        The ability of the motherboard to manage memory

    ·        The version of the BIOS system and settings

    ·        The version of Windows 7 that is installed (for example, Windows 7 Starter Edition does support 2 GB of memory installed.)

    ·        Other system settings

I ask you to follow the steps and the instructions in the following article:

Usable memory may be less than the memory installed on Windows 7 computers

  • ProBook 6440 b: Probook 6440 b memory block

I recently bought a HP Probook 6440 b (refurb), only for the purpose of trying 10 windows.

The first thing I did was replace the puny 160 GB HARD disk with a 1 TB HARD drive and buy 8 GB RAM to replace the cam laptop with 2 GB of RAM.

After Installing Win 10 and the upgrade of memory, I noticed that my usable reported memory is 2998 8192 MB MB.

Making a few arround to dig, I learned that it is because my laptop, while the solid case is below on the Department of BONE.

Belarc shows 2.53 Core i5 M540 64-bit ready Multi-Core system (2 in total) and type hyperthreading (4 total)

However, from what I found, the 32 bit OS, is to limit my memory to 4 GB total!

So my quesition is as follows.  Is there a solution?

I would get all of the 8 GB (or at least more than 2.93).  Is this possible without a major disassembly?  Also, from my research, I think that the reason that the usable memory is that only 2.93 GB is because I have an integrated graphics (GPU) which is aspire little memory.

Don't know if I can come back 1/2 of a 2 stick memory package, so this may have been a lesson in "read-twice, once arrested.

    You are the very welcome.

The steps you described are quite right — and Yes, all data will be lost, so I would not invest a lot of effort to do something else until you get the discs.

If you order by regular mail, the load is about $10 for the scope of delivery.  I usually get them within a few days.

    I don't foresee any problems.

There is a full set of W7 64 bit drivers on the support page, and there should be no difference in the W10 x 64 conversion.

The only difference will be that Windows must be able to "see and use" almost the total amount of memory you have installed.

There may be some memory reserved for the video card if your laptop is the Intel integrated graphics card.

You will have to start from the W7 x 64 disk operating system in order to install W7 x 64.  It will run from the 32-bit Office.

  • How much memory a W500 can be seen on Vista 32

I know how 32 - bit operating system has a limit of 4 GB, but on my W500 system sees only 2.46 4 GB.

My Toshiba laptop Brothers sees 3 gb 3 GB installed.

Oh, when I say see I mean usage, it's how much can be seen in the applet to task manager or information system.

Now, I should more usable memory 2 gb + 1 gb? It seems that Yes

    OR

I should more installation of sticks from the same manufacturer? My second stich 2 GB original lenovo W500 to remember but is a manufacturer of difrent than that has been installed

32 bit can only recognize max 3 gig and not 4 GB. Also with the ATI graphics card, it automatically allocates approximately 400 to 500 MB of the gig 3 recognized ram for hypermemory thingy, which means that you get essentially around 2.5 GB for the rest of the software.

  • Pavilion 15-p101nm: memory RAM Grapchic

I have Pavilion 15-p101nm, and it has 4 GB of ram. However, only 3.44 of it is usable. Now, I know that graphic integrated uses a portion of the RAM so it could work, however, I don't want to use it, because I already have included independent chart, which, by deafult, it uses only when necessary. I want that all 4 GB of free ram (especially because I play games and you need all the memory) and only a chart r7 stanalone to work. I tried to turn off the graphics in the Device Manager, but it is still 3.44 GB of usable ram. Any ideas what I need to do?

    Misteryx96 wrote:

You have misunderstood me, of course it of still in use by the operating system and other programs, but I have 4 GB of RAM, 3.44 alone can be used by OS and etc, another 500 MB are RESERVED by GPU and CANNOT be used for other programs. When I check the properties and see "RAM installed," he said "4 GB (3.44 GB usable). Also when I run the Task Manager and look for physical use of Mem I see clearly that all usable memory is exactly 3.44 GB. So, your suggestion might be good if I had the money, but I want to use ALL of my RAM without having to buy more of it...

Won't happen unless you increase your RAM. The wil reserve system RAM for video and you can not change that. You can switch to 8 GB depending on how memory is configured on this laptop, it can't go 16 GB but you must consult your maintenance manual to see what is the configuration of the memory. DDR3 is not that expensive.

  • How can I enable the memory remapping?

I want to know the steps I must follow to enable the memory remapping. what I should I look for in the search bar of windows, the run menu, etc..

    Hello

-What is the operating system installed on your computer?

To enable the memory remapping, I suggest you enable in the BIOS and check if it helps.
BIOS - how to enter the BIOS?
Each computer is different, when you turn on the computer, it should tell you what button to push to get into the BIOS. This is usually one of the following values, and you have to push it in the first 5 seconds: F1 F2 F10 F12 ESC LED
Once in the BIOS find the menu with the remapping of memory, it is different on each computer.

    Enable memory remapping feature
Check the BIOS settings to see if the memory remapping feature is enabled. Remapping memory access Windows for more memory. You can enable the memory remapping feature in the BIOS by starting the configuration of the system. See the Guide to your computer for instructions on starting the installation of the system on your computer. The name of the memory remapping feature may be different for different hardware vendors. This may be listed as remapping memory, memory expansion, or something similar. Don't forget that your computer can not supported the memory remapping feature.

Note: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

The maximum capacity that supports the motherboard of your laptop is 4 GB.

If you already have 4 GB installed, then this is the most that it will support.
