  • Can I return my computer to this original operating system with a disk. Was Windows 98, XP Home Edition

I bought a HP Pavilion6355 Top Desk of a former employee and it runs Windows XP Home Edition.

I found that these computers were originally under Windows 98.

My question: can I go back to the original operating system without disk.

Nothing I tried to perform a destructive restore worked, thinking that this is because the o/s has been upgraded.

    Need your help.

    Thanks in advance

Outside of why you would like to go back to Win 98, it's probably not possible without getting a CD.

You don't say how you attempted a "destructive recovery".  As far as I KNOW, performing a "destructive recovery" on the HP PC of this vintage required a set of recovery CDs HP.  See http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07141&tmp_task=useCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_usen&lc=en&product=59328

As far as I know, HP no longer provides these CDs.

IIRC, the practice to have a hidden partition on the hard drive that could be used to restore a computer provided that "cost-of-the-factory" did not start up Windows XP.  Although there used to be such a partition, it is likely than anyone to install Windows XP removed as part of the upgrade process.

There is always the FleaBay, Amazonand similar sites.  Do not get a 'upgrade' version unless you have an old Win 95 CD lying around.

    Hi Larry,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community Forum. According the description, I understand that the USB device does not work, rest assured that we will do our best to help you with this problem.

Answering the question that helps us provide the best solution:

    1. it worked before?
2 have had any changes made to the computer before the question?

The Code 10 error applies mainly to the problems of hardware driver and devices or compatibility problems between the drivers of equipment and additional software that is installed in Windows. Therefore, we recommend that solve you these problems with emphasis on device drivers, configuration of device problems and hardware compatibility issues.

Try the following and see if it helps.

    Method 1:

Description of errors related to the 10 Code that generates the Device Manager in Windows on computers:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/943104

    Method 2:

Install the latest driver for USB and check if that helps.

    To do;

    a. click Start, type devmgmt.msc in the start search menu.

    b. right-click on the USB device and click on Update driver software.

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

    Method 3:

Try connecting to another USB port and check if it helps.

Hope this information helps. If you have any other questions feel free to respond and we would be happy to help.

  • Laptop HP 15-R119TU: version 8.1 of Windows which was this original system comes with?

So I know that it was Windows 8.1 x 64... But exactly which variation my model comes with?

House? Only one language? "N" ? .... Cannot be Pro.

Is there any way to determine from the embedded in my BIOS product key?

Many sites say it's 'Windows 8.1 with Bing. But there are also 'Windows 8.1 with Bing, one language'... etc.

How can go do a new install of Win 8.1 who to him scoped from the OEM key in my BIOS. I have the model numbers, series and lot etc. on the back of my laptop. If those who can help.

It's probably a question for the experts of HP.

PS: I erased my entire hard drive. So there is nothing more. New installation.

    Hello:

The page of product for your model below specifications indicate that it comes with Windows 8.1 with Bing (64-bit).

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-15-notebook-PC-series/7234951/model/7553315/document/c04489978/

I don't think you can use the download ISO W8.1 from Microsoft, because it won't work with the product key OEM of W8.1 in the BIOS.

You need to either use the recovery W8.1 media you did when you got the laptop, or an OEM of W8.1 installation disc.

You laptop has no Pro of W8.1 verson.

  • The original OEM product key allows you to move from a 32-bit Vista Ultimate installation to a Vista Ultimate 64-bit installation.

The product key OEM genuine original of my software to 32-bit with service pack 1 (that I bought and installed on my computer) allows to switch from a 32-bit Vista Ultimate installation to a 64-bit Vista Ultimate installation on the same computer without changing the motherboard?

I would use a replacement disc from Microsoft 64-bit including Service Pack 2 as complete a reinstall? Microsoft 64-bit replacement drive has been obtained from Microsoft with the 32-bit version (which is currently installed) after some intractable problems found by the Microsoft Tech support in my OEM 32-bit software with service pack 1.

I'll be able to do an online activation?

    Thank you.

    Hello

You should check with Support to be sure. Normally the 32-bit and 64-bit key can
be used on the same system. Of course, you need to install the 64 who will wipe away
the installation of 32-bit. The key you should however work to check better
with that which supplied the disc. The manufacturer of your system can also provide input.

    I hope this helps.

  • How recover the 8 original windows product key after I accidentally changed?

    Hello guys,.

Something really bad happened to my laptop and I can't seem to solve the problem. Therefore, I am writing this problem here in order to get the help of you smart guys. Last week one of my friends borrowed my laptop for 3 days while I worked. When he came back to me, he said that he has accidentally changed the product key of my windows and it could not get it back. I tried to work on it since then. Finally, I decide that I need help after the future store (where I bought the laptop) fail to come with a solution for the future. I know there are a lot of guys here are really smart and pro on computer problems, so maybe you can help me with this problem. It's a laptop ASUS K75DE of model with windows 8 preinstalled inside. I just want to know if there is a way for me to get the original product key from windows, which is preinstalled in the laptop.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys.

With Windows 8, Microsoft changed stickers that have the product key that the user must type in during the installation of the operating system of new embedded BIOS product key. The idea is that by eliminating the tile, you eliminate one of the easiest ways for nefarious users get a legitimate product key. The sticker also eliminating product key removes any concern that the vignette could get damaged while at the same time eliminating the long and irritating the process of typing in various letters and numbers in the installation of the operating system.

If the user has to reinstall the operating system on a computer with Windows 8, the installation process automatically captures key software product of the motherboard BIOS without input from the user. This means that these stickers familiar windows product key will no longer appear on Windows 8 computers.

Your only option is to restore the computer to its original factory condition.

New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

  • How to find the original windows product key?

I think I need something that is not really possible, but I give it a go anyway. Some time ago, I bought a new ultrabook with preinstalled windows U840W 7. I got this sticker on the back of my laptop with product key but who are off to a long time ago. The problem I have now is that I've recently updated to windows 10 and shortly after my HARD drive has failed. I replaced my HARD drive and reinstalled windows but product key to my victory 10 showed before is not valid as an activation key. I contacted Microsoft to see what my options are and they advised me that if I can provide key to windows 7, I had at the beginning, they can solve this problem for me. Are there opportunities that I can get it somehow? Any help would be much appreciated.

I think I'm after something impossible, but I give it a go anyway. Some time ago I bought a brand new u840w ultrabook.
It came preinstalled with windows 7 and there was a sticker with the product key to this topic. Unfortunately this vignette came out a long time ago without notice me so I did take a picture of him. I've recently updated to windows 10. The problem I have is that my HARD drive is dead. I knew that it was about to happen, so I took a photo of product key windows 10 showed. Unfortunately once I replaced my HARD drive and did a clean install of windows 10 I can't use this product key to activate my windows. I contacted Microsoft and they advised me that if I can provide them with the product key, which was on this thumbnail when I bought my laptop, they can activate my copy. Are there opportunities that I can find the product key? Otherwise it would cost me $199 and I certainly don't want to pay for this... Any help would be much appreciated.

After a lot of Googling, I realize that the wallpapers I'm after are not freely accessible.
So, if there is any body out there with an A100-549, are you willing to provide me with the Toshiba wallpapers, I think that there are about 3 or 4 of them?

    see you soon

    Perfecto

It's strange because the Toshiba wallpapers must appear after installation from the Toshiba Recovery CD.
The recovery CD sets the laptop to factory settings and all Toshiba laptops have been delivered with the Toshiba wallpapers.
