  I feel stupid now.  Page 5 and 6 were the key.  I thought the cable provided in the package was just in case you wanted to tie in other internal usb devices so that they would be 3.0.  Not the case!  The cable supplying power to the card via a SATA connection.  Once I did, it works perfectly!  Probably can work with any driver that I had downloaded.  Just because it's that a tech support had initially recommended, currently using one of SP51756.

  P.S. The actual speed turns out not be 10 x faster, at least with this driver, but it is two times faster in my initial test, which is a big improvement.  It could be that it will be faster with a newer driver, some adjustments or a different set of data to be copied.

  Thank you for responding to my message asking for additional information. The only way I can see to connect your HP TouchSmart 520-1030 Desktop PC would be the use of a USB HDMI adapter. I am also including the IDT High Definition Audio Driver Update for your computer, the USB connection will not have the same sound quality and you want to make sure that you have up-to-date drivers to get the best sound, you can leave the connection.

• TouchSmart 520 TV tuner stopped working

  I have a 1190EA Touchsmart 520. I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows and now the TV tuner stopped working. I've already used Windows Media Center to watch TV. I ran install MCE and windows MCE is unable to find all channels. My TV card is an Avermedia A859.

  I tried everything to fix the problem without success. I suspect that the card is is most recognized in the PC and have tried to find a driver windows 7 or 8 for the card A859. I was not able to locate a driver from the sites, including the Avermedia and HP. The only thing I could find is on the HP site where there is a patch TV card 'channel search fix' for Windows 7. I tried running it, but it returns a "HP not compatitibility" error message during the installation.

  I also tried to install other programs of TV tuner (no windows MCE) to see if these would work. These don't work and I think that they are not detect any signal. Yet once this leads me to think that the TV card needs a driver.

  If anyone can help here it would be really appreciated.

  It will be a little long because I try to give as much detail as possible. I have a desktop HP Touchsmart 520. The other day, I want to run an OS based on Linux from a USB key. I did once before, so I did what I did the last time. I unplugged, take off the back, then removed the hard drive, then plugged the USB key. I was hoping that since I didn't drive hard in, the computer would then operate the stick because of the boot order. He did bring up the screen of the OS, but gave me an error on failure. I turned it off and then return and go to the bios to change the configuration. I found the USB from the menu, but couldn't move, so I tried to disable the first option for the hard drive. I plugged the USB back in, but it does not still work, so I tried to drive hard back. Something happened somewhere in all this, the computer froze, so I tried to hit different buttons to see if I could get an answer, but nothing, so I cut. When I cut back on, I can't no longer to enter the BIOS. The usual HP screen comes up and says press ESC to enter on the start menu, and if I hit him in the first second coming he will take me to a black screen that has my computer on this subject record, starting with the processor type, processor speed, etc. (if I hit any button in a moment the computer hangs on the HP screen). This black screen is as far as I can go and the computer always crashes here, no matter what button I push, but it is said in the lower right corner of the activity for any button I pressed on, for example if I press F2 on the HP screen, it will go to the black screen with my characteristics and in the lower right It will read Diagnostics; If I am pressing F10, it will do as above but read the configuration. He never goes beyond this screen. I tried to download a Windows 7 from Microsoft, but because the key of Windows 7 has been an OEM key, they told me I'd get from HP. I called HP support and they said that they could not get the kit.
